Friendly and spacious house in fantastic village
A wonderfully intact village with the quirkiest shop annex bar in the main square. Absolutely incredible mountain views.
The house was larger than we expected, not luxurious but everything is there, well loved. A great selection of Italian films.
We went to Lucca, to Bagni di Lucca and afterwards on to Pisa, Florence and the coast of Southern Tuscany. If we'd had more time in Casabasciana we'd have liked to explore the Garfagnana area which is also near, as is Pistoia, for example.
Good value for money. Communications with owners went perfectly well.
The perfekt place to slow down
The children are getting older and they like to have a vacation where they can just relax without anyone wanting them to do something. The house and it's surrounding village were perfekt for that.
The drive up to the village is something for experienced Italian vacationeers. as it is somewhat small in places and there is traffic in both directions. Nothing that cannot be handled and is not to seen as negative.
The countryside around the village is beautiful and there wer few other tourists out and about. The house had everything you need but you might want to take your own sharp knives for cooking purposes. The dishwasher and washing mashine are a god-send. Thank you Sue!
very nice but a bit lost in nowhere
the place was really nice, the house was big and there was enough room for all of us. the village is tipical and quite. the only problem was that there was no way to find a parking spot in the square, so we had to leave the car on the streat outside the village and walk all the way through the small and old streets ofd the village. adventourous for the young, difficult for the old people. Very cosy and warm in general
The beautiful beach resort of Viareggio is approx 40 km away. It is about 1 hour away by car but can also be reached by bus or train.
The Cinque Terre is also within easy reach by car.
Nearest airport is Pisa approx 1 hour drive away. Genoa airport approx 2.5 hour drive.
Although there is train service to Bagni di Lucca and limited bus service to village we would suggest that a car is essential.
The nearest town is Bagni di Lucca 6km away. The medieval City of Lucca is approx 20km away (40mins by car).
The nearest restaurant is about 1.5 km down hillside but Bagni di Lucca has numerous restaurants and bars.
Horse riding and quad bike excursions are also available in the local area
There is also a water park nr Marina di Pisa
