About Kristina Dockray
I started letting this property over a decade ago on behalf of my mother, although we stopped for the last few years due to personal circumstances. My brother and I inherited the house recently. I also used to let a property in Cyprus, although we have now sold that. I have an international career and am currently working in Geneva.
Kristina Dockray purchased this House in 1957
Why Kristina Dockray chose Piglio
My grandfather bought this house in 1957. Though Swedish, he worked most of his life fr the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation in Rome. He, my grandmother and mother played golf regularly at the Fiuggi Golf Club, hence the choice of location for his weekend house. It is a beautiful and unspoilt area, with relatively few foreign tourists, yet it is easy to get to Rome and centrally placed to visit many interesting places.
What makes this House unique
If you want to chat to real, local Italians, the neighbours/managers - Ivana and Luigi - are always keen to get to know our guests. But they will also leave you alone, if that's what you prefer. If you want to get to know them, just invite them round for a cup of coffee or a glass of wine or.

A rental car is almost essential for sightseeing and shopping. However, there are buses from outside the house to Rome, Piglio and Fiuggi. Anagni-Fiuggi train station is 15 minutes by car. The train service to Roma Termini (Central station) is quite frequent (every hour or so) and takes 50 minutes. It costs a mere 9 euros for a ticket incorporating the Rome Metro and buses. The house is 10 minutes from the main Rome-Naples A1 motorway.
Ciampino (Ryanair/Easyjet) 45 minutes.
Fiumicino (BA/Alitalia, etc) 75 minutes.
Naples/Pompeii – 90 minutes
Florence/Assisi/Pisa/Amalfi – Approx. 3 hours.
There are plenty of restaurants nearby, from cheap and cheerful pizzerie to a Michelin star restaurant – 'Le Colline Ciociare' only 10 minutes away in Acuto.
There are banks and shops in Piglio and larger supermarkets and a hospital in nearby Anagni.
There is a local market in Piglio every Friday.
