Lovely mid September stay in homely & comfortable house in tranquil Kingsand
We enjoyed the comfortable and relaxing feel of the house - felt like home straight away. Lovely walks on the coastal path and shoreline and visits to Antony Woodland Gardens and Mount Edgcumbe which are both highly recommended. The local pubs - all within a 5 minute walk are great and the food is excellent at The Half Way House and The Devonport Arms. Would definitely recommend Jackdaw Cottage to anyone wanting a quiet and relaxing holiday with beaches, coast path and good pubs and cafes on your doorstep.
Great location, with beaches and hostelries on the doorstep.
This property’s greatest asset is its location, right in the heart of the village of Kingsand, with several pretty beaches just a couple of minutes walk away.
We stayed here with our offspring and young grandchildren, and found the cottage comfortable and well equipped.
The beach at Cawsand is just a five minute walk away, great for spending most of the day building castle, rockpooling, sampling the excellent pasties and ice creams from the cafe.
Also recommend walking or driving to The Canteen at Maker Heights for a delicious lunch or breakfast.
keep coming back!
lovely home to stay in, always happy here whatever the weather
Our stay at Jackdaw Cottage in the quaint village of Kingsand was simply wonderful. The cottage could not be more centrally located, and the nearby car park was most convenient. We were very comfortable and all needs were met in terms of bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchen, living room, and back yard. We were a party of six adults, and there was plenty of room for all. Local eating establishments provided a nice variety of excellent fare, and the beauty of Kingsand, Cawsand, and the magnificent countryside was enough to guarantee we will return. We can only hope that Jackdaw Cottage will be available when we do!
An enjoyable stay and well located within the village.
A great location and plenty of room in the cottage (we were a party of 5 and had a room each). There are 3 local pubs near by and the food/service was great. Parking in the local carpark was also convenient. The cottage could do with a little update but this would not put us off from staying again.
We stayed in kingsand for 2 weeks and absolutely loved the cottage. It was so nice to have enough space for all of us. It was very well equiped and Tony and Rachel were absolutely lovely. We especially enjoyed the coast walk to Mount Edgcumbe and the ferry ride to Plymouth from Cremyll. The village provides everything you need from Pubs to a small supermarket. We will definately come back in the future. Thank you for such a lovely stay!
PS: rent a small car if possible, the streets are very narrow.
Dear Daniela - thank you so much for your lovely review. We were particularly delighted because of our error over arrival dates, your gracious acceptance of the alternative hotel accommodation that we arranged for your first night in Cornwall was a huge relief to us. Jackdaw is our family holiday home but we love to share it with appreciative guests, we loved having you and your family to stay and we are so pleased that you had a lovely time.
Very best wishes
Rachael and Tony
