Puerto de Mogan is a lovely place
The apartment is located at a great location. Perfect balcony and a nice pool area. It was cleane and as expected.
Apartment had everything you needed
Apartment is within easy walking distance to Puerto-Mogan. Loved the roof top pool, was often just us up there. You lose the sun around 16.00, that was when we headed down to the beach for the next couple of hours.
Would highly recommended
Amanda and her party are polite and respectful of the rules of the house. Thank you for your nice review.
I hope to have you as my guest again.
Relaxing break in a lovely apartment with pool
This is our fourth winter break in Puerto de Mogan and one of the nicest apartments we’ve stayed in - stylishly done out, quiet, convenient and with the added bonus of the pool and huge sunbathing area up on the roof (ideal for when you lose the sun on the balcony). It’s quite a small apartment so would be a squash if there were four of you. The double bedroom is very compact although the bed itself is super-comfy and the sofa in the lounge does not seat four, if you were unlucky with the weather and had to sit indoors. The kitchen area is compact too but with all the restaurants nearby, who wants to cook? It was perfect for preparing breakfast and light lunches.
Check-in was easy with Antonella waiting for us when we arrived and Andrea, the owner, emailed us from Italy to check that all was well. There is a lift in the building which we didn’t realise when we arrived - handy if you’ve got lots of luggage or a pushchair. Our key actually worked better in the door leading to the lift than the door into the building which Antonella showed us - something to bear in mind if you’re panicking about being unable to access the building! Andrea can apparently arrange luggage storage if you have a late flight (often a problem if you don’t have a hire car). All in all we can definitely recommend this lovely apartment.
A clean, well equipped and homely apartment ideally located just a few hundred meters back from the harbour. The owner, Andrea, arranged for transfer from the airport which worked perfectly (thanks Marco). Great value for money accommodation in this lovely low key resort.
A tastefully decorated apartment in a convenient part of town with lovely views from the balcony.
The apartment is conveniently close to the bus station and the Spar supermarket and is also only a short walk to the beach and harbour areas. It has a well-equipped kitchen area and a lovely private balcony which is sunny from about 9am. The beds are comfortable, although the double bedroom is very compact and the ceiling fan in that room was rather noisy. The use of the rooftop pool is a real bonus and we often had it to ourselves. On a less positive note, the apartment overlooks a busy main road so there is traffic noise and also noise from neighbouring apartments due to the construction of the complex. The water in the shower was not always hot enough for two people to take a shower one after the other and it would have been nice to have somewhere to dry wet things on the balcony. These factors didn't spoil our holiday, however, and we very much enjoyed out stay in Puerto Mogan. Although the owner was away during our visit, he kept in touch by email and was helpful.
Maybe we were unlucky
Our first impressions of the apartment were good. The apartment is clean and well appointed and the owner has gone to some trouble to make it welcoming. He was also very helpful during the booking process. However, we were only able to tolerate the noise and disturbance from in and outside the apartment for two days. Perhaps we were unfortunate that a Public Address system was set up opposite the apartment playing extremely loud music and commentary on a local event for 16 hours but it was too much for us, There were other disturbances too but we decided to leave them all behind and stay elsewhere.
The nearest sandy beach is Puerto de Mogan a four to five minute walk from our apartment. Puerto de Mogan has an idyllic marina harbour with excellent restaurants and a labyrinth of pretty flowered walkways. The next recommended sandy beach is either Taurito in the next bay or at Amadores, just outside Puerto Rico, a 20-25 minute drive away.
Las Palmas airport is approximately a 45 minute drive and we can arrange private transfers from and to the airport if desired with one of our excellent licensed drivers. Depending on how you choose to spend your holiday, car hire is not essential because you can walk everywhere if you just wish to remain in Puerto de Mogan to relax.
Mogan town is 10 minutes away by car. Arguineguin is a Canarian fishing village with a good market on Tuesdays and is about a 12 minute drive. The island's capital city Las Palmas is great for shopping and has a splendid beach and promenade and can be reached in well under an hour by car.
Supermarkets, shops, restaurants, banks, chemist and the local post office are easily reached on foot. The apartment has a house book listing specific and general information. Boat trips and fishing are popular in Puerto de Mogan and walks in the surrounding area. Some restaurants and bars have live music on certain evenings of the week. A small note on our climate. Puerto Mogan, ideally positioned in a sheltered valley, is blessed with one of the finest year-round climates in Europe. In the winter months the days are wonderfully sunny with temperatures in the high seventies and early eighties. In the summer - far from being too hot for comfort - the sun is higher in the sky, the temperatures are of course higher but the heat produced is dry, not humid, and you are cooled by the lovely light sea breezes. The long summer evenings are pleasantly warm and perfect for lazy relaxation on a terrace with a jug of cold sangria or a bottle or two of white wine.
