About Lindsey & Mark
We have been married for 30 years and are in our mid 50's. We have two sons who have more or less flown the nest but still love to come to Italy with us. We adore good food, wine and sunshine so this really is our nirvana. A lot of our time in Italy is spent walking and I enjoy mountain and road biking. I am an ex rugby player so I still like to keep fit and have encouraged my wife to do the same. We live in a 400 year old cottage in a small village in Somerset and love the simple lifestyle here. We make our own cider and grow our vegetables, the good life!! However you will see from our large collection of cd's we still have a taste for rock music and go to lots of concerts. Diversity makes life interesting!!

Why Lindsey & Mark chose Piegaro
My wife, Lindsey, lived in Rome when she was younger and always had a yearning to return to Italy. This glorious area chose us! A serious of events led us here and has been our sanctuary. We go to Rome on every visit as it is the most beautiful city in the world, but it is a relief to return to the countryside, the cooler air, the simple way of living and the marvellous friendly people. We immerse ourselves in the incredible history and culture and love the local festa's. This area is unspoilt and we can live the Italian life, as chef, Antonio Carluccio said, 'Umbria is Italy's secret and long may it last'.
What makes this Apartment unique
Umbria is the ‘Green Heart’ of Italy and, as so, Casa Bella Vista is ideally situated for travelling around. We can reach Rome and Florence in less than 2 hours with Sienna and San Gimignano even closer. The beautiful Lake Trasimeno, the fourth largest inland lake in Italy, where Hannibal fought the Roman Army, is just 30 minutes away as is the elegant city of Perugia. Assisi, the birthplace of St Francis is on most travellers lists of places to visit and is around a 40 minute drive. Less than a couple of hours from the apartment you will find the Sibillini Mountains with the most stunning scenery and famous hilltop town of Castelluccio di Norcia. This area offers exquisite walks, white water rafting, and skiing in the winter. It is also home to the World’s tallest man made waterfall. The apartment is in an ideal location for wine lovers, we have an excellent vineyard with great tours and tasting nearby. Less than an hour away is the beautiful town and region of Montefalco. their famous Sagrantino wine has received DOCG classification. Our House Keepers, Narelle and Troy, run a successful tour business incorporating many of the local vineyards and those further afield. senseumbria@ please contact us for more details or find their number with our House Keeper information.

Amazing apartment, beautiful place
The apartment was brilliant, all clean and tidy exactly as described. loved the balcony too, amazing views. the surrounding area was great too, loads to do, plenty of vineyards for wine tasting, the owners recommended Cantina Monte Vibiano, amazing tour of the vineyards and overall great experience. We took a trip to nearby town of Montefalco and had some amazing local wine and food. I highly recommend taking the short trip to Castiglione del Lago and walking around the castle that overlooks the lake.
Overall what an amazing stay, I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to visit Italy. I will 100% be going again and make this an annual trip.
5* experience at a fraction of the price
After a hectic summer at work me and my girlfriend had a one week vacation in Italy (Umbria). We arrived at Casa Bella Vista and were pleasantly surprised at the spacious apartment. The views from the balcony into the valley are simply stunning! The views from the bedrooms are also breathtaking.
We emailed the owner for advise on what to do, where to go, and even what car hire company to use, local cities, what vineyards to visit and rambling routes etc.... We were very well instructed. The owner also helped us plan our trip into the Sibillini Mountains, whitewater rafting was the pick of the outdoor sports here. The walk to the top if the Marmore's falls was also a spectacular sight.
We could have easily spent another week at the apartment and were sad to leave such a beautiful setting.
Thank you so much for making our holiday so perfect.
We booked this Holiday at the last minute for week and we had a great time, the location is high in the Italian hills where you an really get into the culture of Italy.
This location is superb with splendid views surrounded by vineyards of grapes and olives and is idea for walks and cycling, with the shops and a waterpark near where the kids had a ball.
we drove a short distance to the wineries and had an excellent day touring the various villages.
The accommodation was very nice decorated with an Italian style and very homely feel to it, it is decked out with everything you need.
If you are looking for a relax time where you can also do activities when you want and really enjoy the culture of Italy this holiday is for you, and by he way the local wine is so cheap and the quality is superb.
