Renewed in old style with traditional materials - stone and wood. It has a private, south facing, swimming pool of 32sqm in front of the house just a few steps from the covered terrace and summer kitchen-BBQ so that pool area is easily overlooked from the house and garden. The villa is centrally placed in the big garden with a lot of greenery and few cherry trees which provide the natural shadow around the villa in a hot summer time. The villa is built with large stone blocks and contains large open space in the ground floor and three double bedrooms on the first floor. All the rooms upstairs have the air-condition but usually it is not needed as the wide solid stone walls keeps the heat outside. The barbeque has a lot of place to prepare the dinner and it is placed close to an unique garden table made of a big stone plate with heavy iron chairs around.
Louise and I enjoyed a wonderful holiday in Istria. The villa Barbara is very beautiful, very spacious and is appointed to a very high standard. The villa is situated in an idyllic, peaceful rural area, yet within twenty minutes of the sea, and it is ideally placed for touring. The maintenance of the villa and grounds was excellent. We would recommend villa without any reservation at all.Peter and Luise
We all thoroughly enjoyed the tranquillity and privacy of the countryside...Villa Barbara is a luxurious stone built house with a fantastic pool, outside bbq and wood oven area, stone walled gardens... The beds were very comfortable and meant we slept well and for a long time with the shutters keeping the daylight at bay... Highly recommended! The philip family
..We also enjoyed the village of St Lorenzo with its medieval ruins, cobbled streets and excellent pizza at the restaurant.. Villa Barbara is a perfect getaway to relax and unwind!Mr and Mrs Pilbeam
...We had a great week, and could not be happier about the accommodation that you offered:). You have a lovely house, very well equipped, and a beautiful garden around it, not to mention the pool; our favourite! Sari
...We enjoyed the peace and quiet, and the swimming pool of course, but we found many interesting and beautiful places to visit within a 30-minute drive. We enjoyed the hilltop towns, especially Grosjnan and Motovun, which were rich in history but not yet spoiled by over-development or too many tourists. A special highlight was the trip back from Motovun on the scenic route (via Kramask) with the best views of the whole trip. Nick
The villa location was perfect for us, and the swimming pool was great, the barbecue area was fantastic. The accommodation inside was delightful, it was well equipped. This villa is the jewel in the crown. Thank you Goran for the wine left for us all and for a perfect holiday
Regards Dawn and family.
Very peaceful location opposite one other villa. Absolutely spotlessly clean and maintained. Pool is fab, salt water system so no harsh chemicals which was fab for children. The car could be kept cool in the car port, the b&q area was excellent with an additional pizza oven and bar. Several sitting areas to choose from and free wifi. Satellite tv but no English channels found other than news but not a problem as there is a DVD player there. Kitchen highly equipped...Goran very helpful on booking and provided all the assistance we asked for. a car would be essential for groceries etc as nothing within easy walking distance. Cannot fault this place, would love to return and have not hesitated in recommending this fantastic villa. Had a very relaxing holiday there, thank you. (If exiting to Austria dont go via huge border queues at Tieste, take road into Motovun, very scenic route and the most rural border control I've ever seen, we were the only car there!
Villa Barbara exceeded all our expectations I'm happy to say. Although quite remote and having to drive everywhere we found the location excellent and found beautiful beaches and places to visit within a short distance. The villa itself is lovely and furnished tastefully and to a very high standard. We enjoyed many evenings having bbqs and sitting among the cherry trees with only the sound of the birds to amuse us. Goran was incredibly helpful to us from the time of planning our holiday right through to our departure, and we really appreciated the wine and snacks that were there on our arrival as we arrived late in the evening. We hope to return to this beautiful part of Croatia and would recommend it to our friends.
Lovely villa with very good helpful owner
We arrived late at night, and very much appreciated the snacks left in the fridge by Goran. The beautiful Villa was very well equipped and everything was thought of for our comfort. The pool was a little cold to enjoy fully, but if we had gone later in the year I am sure we would have used it fully. We enjoyed just relaxing around the Villa listening to the birds, but also found it well placed for visiting all the many towns and hilltop villages.
We had a fantastic holiday in Villa Barbara. Goran the owner, couldn't have been more helpful. He got back to all our emails and queries in the weeks and months leading up to our visit and was so helpful while we were there.
The villa is situated in a secluded and peaceful location with no neighbours overlooking you. You need a car to visit shops, restaurants and villages nearby but we had the chance to explore the stunning villages and towns within 20-30 minutes of the villa.
Lovely open plan kitchen and dining room, decent sized bedrooms and very clean.
Thank you so much for making us welcome Goran. We had a fantastic holiday. Gem, Will and Nye
