About David Koch
My wife and I try to stay at our family ranch every weekend with our kids and friends. We absolutely love it out there! However, we decided to share with others when we can't make it out to the country. We like to do a lot of traveling ourselves, and we're always looking for unique interesting places to stay just like our little ranch house. We sure hope you enjoy the stay.
David Koch purchased this Farmhouse in 1901
Why David Koch chose Weimar
Our family property has been a continuous cattle and rice producing ranch for over 115 years. We try our best to continue our family heritage in every way that we can.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
Piece and quiet and very bright stars! Just relax and enjoy the front porch with a warm cup of coffee.
Please keep the front gate closed at all times to make sure that our cows do not get on the highway. Please only drive vehicles from the front gate to the cabin. Our land is an old rice farm and you will get stuck if you attempt to drive around on the property. Please stay within the immediate proximity of the ranch house.

Everthing we wanted
Had a great time, owner was very helpful with everything. Hopefully we can get there again.
Just what we needed
Needed a getaway not too far from Houston. David was very helpful, welcoming and responsive. There was room to roam outside, sat by the fire under the evening lights and told ghost stories with s'mores.
Quiet, rustic retreat away from the hustle and bustle.
We stayed here while visiting the Warrenton-Round Top Fall Antiques Show. It was great to return to the quiet and relaxing ranch house each evening. The property was as described. David was very responsive to questions we had, and checked on us each day to see how things were going. If you want something more than the typical road-trip hotel experience, I wound recommend you check out David's place. It won't disappoint.
Always a great time at the ranch!
The place was a nice get away from the hustle and bustle of the city
The place was a nice get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Loved sitting on the front porch during the rain. We also enjoyed playing corn hole, horse shoes and sitting around the campfire making s'mores. Thanks for the hospitality!
Colorado County Paradise
I love this place. It reminds me of the deer lease my family was on as a child in Central Texas. Having a ranch all to yourself, without seeing any neighbors for a weekend, well that doesn't happen often.
This place helped me get back to the basics and explore nature. I hunted arrowheads, hiked with my dogs, birdwatched, rinsed off outside with no one watching, (you get my drift) and watched a big ol orange moon rise at night.
Watch cattle and donkeys move in the morning behind the house area and into the homesite land.
I enjoyed making my meals on the easy breezy charcoal pit outside and watching TV in the evenings inside while having rye whiskey at the bar.
The porch has a nice breeze and 2 rockers to visit with folks or fly solo like I did.
The home is well appointed with a full kitchen, fridge, Keurig and regular drip coffee makers. Satellite TV worked just fine and there is a DVD player if you need to bring such. The bed was nice and comfortable. I slept very well! The bunk house is a major throwback. You don't see bunkhouses like this anymore. This would make a great place to stay with a group and/or let kids stay in the bunk house so the adults have some time to themselves.
I hope to be back soon. This place really is fantastic and it's really amazing that the Koch's share it with us! Be sure to take special care of this place so we can all keep coming back. :)
That was a great review...thank you!
