Il Trebbio is a 1.5 hectare property located in the northern Tuscany, on the sunny hill of Albiano (Barga, Lucca, Tuscany). This place is well know for its prestigious position: it dominates the wonderful medieval town of Barga and offers a breathtaking view on the whole Serchio Valley and the famous Alpi Apuane mountains. Barga is strategic to plan daily visits to the most important Tuscan cities: Lucca, Florence, Pisa...From every side of the property the view is amazing! We think that there’s not better way to describe this Tuscan Heaven than to display on our official website the major number of photos. An evidence of the gorgeous heaven offered by Il Trebbio is the percentage of guests that came back: 2nd time 70%, 3rd time 50%! All of them confirm us, with gratifying happiness, that Il Trebbio really represents the Tuscan Heaven! Most of the spring/summer/late summer season is usually near to be completely booked from February, make plans well in advance.

About Sonia Cinquini

Why Sonia Cinquini chose Barga
We bought the amazing view! Really incredible, we immediately fell in love with it. The added value was (and obviously is) the prestigiuos location, so close to Barga but in the mean time absoultely quiet and reserved.

Lovely house in a beautiful place. The description was accurate. Peaceful place up the mountain from Barga and the views were fabulous. I took so many photos of Barga in different lights and cloud formations. We were given a very warm welcome and a lovely touch to have a bottle of delicious family wine waiting for us. The house was clean and well equipped. The lounge area was small with only two easy chairs but we spent most of our time on the beautiful terrace enjoying the view. The bedrooms were large with comfy beds and lots of storage space. Good shower in the bathroom. Barga is a lovely town with plenty of restaurants and shops. Enjoyed the local restaurant in Albiano too. Grotto del Vente nearby and well worth a visit. The owners answered queries very quickly and were very helpful. I would definitely recommend this house if you want a peaceful holiday in a beautiful area of Tuscany.
Sonia and Diego's lovely house was comfortable and well-equipped and suited our purposes admirably. But without doubt the outstanding feature was the view from the terrace, over to Barga and across the valley to the Alpi Apuane. The view changed with the light but was particularly striking at dawn and sunset. The garden was also lovely, with its fruit trees and bird life. We would have been happy staying there all day but there was walking to be done, across to Barga (a lovely town, and it takes little over half an hour to walk there), up the hill to Somma Colonia, and further afield to the mountains. The local trattoria (ten minutes walk) was friendly and serves good food, but we never found the local bar open. Be warned, the access road to the house is steep and winding, as are most of the roads in the vicinity, but its all worth it.
Many thanks for this great review (feeedback for us). It was a real pleasure to accommodate you at our Villa. Really hope to see you again

Wonderful Villa with views
We stayed in Villa Trivium over 2 weeks.
Diego and his parents Angelo and Amelia were very friendly and extremely helpful. We were met and taken to the villa shown round. A bottle of Angelo's wine and olive oil along with Biscottis were left for us. The Villa was perfect 2 large bedrooms with en-suites. Comfortable living area with large wood burner.
Views over the valley and across to Barga beautiful in the day as well as at night.
Convenient area for exploring the surrounding area and mountains
We travelled to Ill Trebbio for the English October School holidays. My aim for this holiday was to take the kids swimming as much as possible, and this was easy to do. I took my young kids to the local pool in Gallicano on most days. They made great progress, largely thanks to the quiet and friendly environment. We also went river swimming in the valley close to Fornovalasco. The kids did that well that we drove out to the nearby Bay of Poets, where the sea temperature was a good 20 Celsius. Here it was sunny, but we still had the beach to ourselves.
In between day trips out the boys enjoyed the mountainside, roaming free and watching the fog come through the valley, the sun set over the mountains and the most spectacular evening thunderstorms. Angelo and Amelia were real stars, as they brought fresh fruit from their own harvest to share with my young boys. The hosts are honest and kind people, and that is part of the treat for me.
Local town Barga was alive and well over Halloween, and when you run out of ideas, there is always Ice-cream.
There is still lots to discover in the area, let your senses be your guide!
Wonderful, beautiful, great views & very relaxing.
Il Trebbio is a wonderful, peaceful, beautiful and relaxing villa. The owners are extremely helpful and kind. Our whole family really enjoyed our stay. We were a party of 5, three 19-21 and two parents. The facilities were great and our hosts were very responsive. The local village pool is really well managed and clean. They open late on Wednsday from 2pm to 12 midnight. The local restaurant run the pool so if you want to eat at the local restaurant on Wednesday it will by the pool and you will need to pre book and order. The views are to die for. My youngest said "this is a view I could never tire of" and I have to agree. I would recommend a day trip to Lucca if you have time. I would also recommend a trip to the top of Barga to get the views and eat on the way down.
I can seriously recommend this villa! Hope to visit again sometime soon.
Stunning house in a stunning location
We spent two very special weeks in the house and we were looked after by Diego and his lovely family.
The property inside and out is pristine. A clever blend of rustic but not old and dusty. Carefully put together making it feel homely.
The view from all the rooms was quite stunning and something you would pay a lot of money.
Nearly everyday was spent on the patio relaxing and admiring the view.
There is a small side garden that was more than big enough for our 12 year old to play football.
In order to get these views there are lots and lots of hills - be prepared.
A large Supermarket only 10 mins drive away
Cafe and shop 30 mins walk away ( down those hills. )
Restaurant and little bar 10 mins walk away.
Lovely hotel ( Marriott Coco Renaissance ) only 10 mins drive away if you want a posh night out.
The temperature were 5c lower than the towns and cities because we were in the hills and a fairly constant breeze made it very pleasant.
Overall the best place we have stayed in for a long time.
Thanks to Diego and Sonia and ( Diego's dad who popped over for 5 mins every few days to being fruit and say hello )
The coast (Viareggio) 50kms.
Airports: Pisa 1 hr, Florence 90 minutes.
The property is close to Barga. Barga itself is about 1 hour from Pisa; 90 minutes from Florence; 30 minutes from the walled mediaeval town of Lucca and close to the National Parks of the Apuane Alps. Hilltop villages abound - exploring can be either rural or townie, the choice is yours.
Albiano is one of the most prestigious place of the Serchio valley, the gorgeous view offered over the whole valley and the ancient walled town of Barga is absolutely unique. The place is peaceful and unspoilt. Barga can be reached in less than 5 mins by car and about 30 mins on foot. It is a lively, cosmopolitan town with a wide variety of wine bar, cafes, restaurants, shops and services.Barga boasts an opera house, a jazz festival, a wide number of outdoor feasts, dances and concerts and a modern swimming pool with a beautiful view. The historical centre, which dates back to medieval times, is a honeycomb of teeny lanes, cobbled alleys and stairways, spilling onto lovely little piazzas. Barga is strategical to plan visits to Lucca, Pisa, Florence, Siena and the seaside. There is a train station in the nearby town of Fornaci di Barga. Services are cheap and regular, and connect with the major towns and cities in the region.
