Lovely location, wonderful welcome pack, friendly landlady, sure, the house was a little worn, but so welcoming, we always felt like we were " coming home". Thanks Kate
Sadly we will not be returning or indeed able to recommend this property. We were very disappointed with the cleanliness and general upkeep. The carpets were filthy, the oven and barbecue were dirty, the shower room had established cobwebs and spiders. The garden was overgrown. The parasol was broken, we had to clean the garden table before we could use it, shaver sockets didn't work etc. The double bed we were expecting in the twin room was simply 2 single beds pushed together (although comfortable). The positives were a good welcome pack and the convenience of the farm shop. Investment is needed to bring this property up to the standard of its rivals. This property could be lovely but it certainly didn't feel like a home from home! Our holiday was saved by the lovely weather and wonderful countryside.
Restful few days
Had a wonderful cosy stay. Super for walks from the door, which the dog enjoyed just as much as us! Laughtons Retreat was just perfect for my mum who has limited mobility, with it being all on one level and the use of a walk in shower. Thank you so much for the amazing welcome pack, food was superb! We also recommend a trip to the farm shop opposite ...yum . Plan to visit again.
We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us ! We look forward to welcoming you again with some more of our scrummy sausages and bacon!
