It was love at first sight! I love it, I know that I am looking after a special place with millennia of history, and I like that people are happy in it and that it contributes to the local economy. The people here have a lot of time for other people, especially Spanish speakers and it is a very warm and family-centric culture. I also value the very fresh air free of dust and pollution, the glorious local food and drink, the fact that not every single day has a blazing sun and blue sky, the climate is more nuanced whilst being at the southernmost tip of mainland europe. People live well here - oh that this were available elsewhere! This particular property is for those who love to be in the centre of it all, between church and castle - you will find others 'in the area', but it's not quite the same thing.
What makes this Apartment unique
If you like to feel 'on top of the hill' then this property may appeal either because it is in such a privileged position, adjacent to the church overlooking some utterly beautiful cobbled streets and small plaza, or because of the unusually spacious 10m lounge and huge airy layout. Delightful well equipped perhaps a little draughty with the Levante
We have had a lovely time in Vejer and the house was a great choice for us...once we acclimatised to the steep approach and the church bell!!!
The house was very well equipped and comfortable. We especially loved the roof terrace.

The property itself should not be draughty as it has an entire new set of climalit double glazed french windows on all 5 balconies. Outdoors you are of course subject to the weather conditions which I don't control - maybe you meant breezy and not draughty? If you meant draughty, please contact me with details so I can get it fixed.
As you quite rightly observe, hilltop towns are indeed on hilltops! In fact this property is almost unique in Vejer in that all the accomodation is on a single very large floor of over 200m2, so stair-climbing is minimised. If you visited any other property in the town - including the popular Califa hotel - you will know exactly what I mean.

Characterful & spacious house, that was the centre of a charming town. Views from the terrace, were to die for, even if the church bells initially gave us a little fright. Everything you would need, including a very responsive host. Una & Wayne
Fabulous old-world property in the center of Vejer
We are three 60+ friends who enjoy exploring the 'Real Spain'. Vejer is one of the most beautiful of the Pueblos Blancos and it has everything one could wish for. Casa de las Campanas is a wonderful old-world, very spacious, village house. It is within walking distance of many quirky boutiques and fabulous restaurants. It is beside the church and while some people may find the bells annoying - we found them delightful! The beaches of El Palmar, Cabo de Trafalgar, Canos de Meca, Conil and Fuente del Gallo are all only a short drive away. We hope to return to this wonderful property soon again. Carmel, María and Bet. Lovely spacious property with everything we needed
Great place. Could do with some extra loungers on the terrace but not something that we thought about too much as everything else was perfect.
Parking: lots of questions about this but nowhere to put the info. There is little/no parking in the historic centre, and in summer it is hard/impossible to drive in. In August: it's hard to find anywhere less than 15mins walk away. Off season: park in Remedios (5 mins walk). July/Sep: main carpark, 8 mins walk). No guarantees!
Long unspoiled white-sand beaches of El Palmar are approximately 15 minutes drive from the town, with a variety of restaurants. No intensive developments mar the beauty of these delightful places. Surfing, windsurfing, and kitesurfing are available.
Nearest airport is Jerez, approximately 55 mins drive. Other options are Gibraltar and Seville, approx 2 hrs. A hire car is a good idea to enjoy the beaches. Parking is normally available on Avenida de los Remedios, about 8 mins walk away, but generally not nearer.
The house is completely central, located within the old walled town of Vejer, and is the perfect base for exploring all the town's tourist attractions on foot, including not least the adjacent church and very nearby castle.
There is a range of local restaurants and bars to explore, all just a short walk away. The market sells fresh local fruit and vegetables and fish, and is less than 5 minutes walk. There are now increasing numbers of deli-style shops, at least one convenience store in Plaza d'España, and several banks. The tourist information centre is 10 minutes walk. If you choose to arrive late on Friday on the Ryanair flight to Jerez, consider the delightful hotel 'Casa de la Califa' in Vejer for a one-night stopover.
