Sweet salt air, and mint in the garden for tea.
This is our second stay and though the Cape threw us a couple of rainy days, it was a restful sojurn for our family and visiting friends. Just steps away from a beautiful Bay beach, and five minutes from Head of the Meadow, we alternated our days between Atlantic and Bay side, and were close enough to zip home to make lunch -- or get excellent sandwiches at nearby Salty Market. The backyard sculpture garden, with fishpond is a daily enchantment, and the aroma of mint was invigorating. Our 8 year old daughter loved the rope swing hung from a tree and that was her "special place" she said. We also enjoyed some great bike rides, and Chequessett Chocolate is very close, and a great destination for an iced coffee. We also loved being close to P’town, and enjoyed a show at WHAT, just 20 minutes down the road. It was always wonderful coming back to the house, however. And it was always comfortable as ceiling fans and individual room AC made for comfort on steamy nights, but we mostly having the windows open as historic houses were built for smart air circulation. The Jacuzzi in the master-bath was very refreshing and the spacious kitchen was an inducement to eat in. We enjoyed the table on the deck for many meals as well. Thanks to Roger and Marilyn for a great stay in their beautifully kept 18th century "three-quarter Cape.”
We love having Sally and her family and are delighted they will be coming back next July. they left the house spotless! We appreciated their thoughtfulness, and look forward to their return!
Fantastic and historic Cape Cod retreat
This was our 2nd stay at this wonderful North Truro cottage. It is very comfortable and functional, complete with AC for hot summer months. Cable TV, excellent internet and wifi as well.
The original structure is 250 years old, but recent remodeling has fused old world charm with modern convenience perfectly. The garden and grounds behind the property are exquisitely laid out and maintained as well. Perfect for evening gatherings as the sun goes down.
The location is very quiet, but perfectly situated near the beach facing the bay, or a very short ride to Highland light and nearby beaches, or our favorite, Ballston beach on Pamet Rd. It's also just a couple hundred feet to Salty's local market, and close to excellent restaurants, post office, and even a Vineyard.
Don't hesitate to book this accommodation and make it the center of your next Cape Cod retreat.
Restful, comfortable and a spectacular garden
Our family vacations in Truro every year and this was our first year at 13 Pond Road. Just to be in an 18th century cottage is a treat, and our family of four loved it. The house was clean and well-supplied with linens, etc. and we loved visiting the garden, goldfish pond and sculptures. Roger and Marilyn were gracious and helpful hosts (flowers were waiting) and our kids looked forward to helping feed the goldfish. The wide hardwood floors were part of the rehab done, along with the addition of beams salvaged from fishing boats. I grew up spending summers in Chatham and to share the historic part of Cape Cod, along with a wonderful Bay beach, with my kids was a joy. We could walk or bike to the beach and the Salty Market and the Cape air was refreshing. Thank you Roger and Marilyn for creating a restful haven for us and we look forward to returning next year.
North Truro Retreat Antique Cape with Inviting Back Yard
The house was lovely, the gardens were exquisite, the goldfish pond was tranquil and our hosts could not have been nicer. We had a fabulous time with great access to the beach, bike trails and P Town.
I would highly recommend booking this rental for your vacation.
Our family had a wonderful week on the Cape. The house is small, but fit our needs very well especially with the good sized kitchen since we cooked in a lot. The backyard is beautifully landscaped and offered a nice quiet place to sit after the beach. The location is tremendous with easy access to beaches, Provincetown and Route 6. The owners were helpful when needed. Thanks Roger and Marilyn!
We enjoyed meeting you all!. So glad you had a wonderful time!
Home Away From Home
This house is our home away from home when we visit the Cape! This is the 4th year we have stayed at Roger and Marilyn's cottage and everything about it makes our vacation special! The house is always clean and ready for our arrival, and my daughter cannot wait to get out in the backyard to use the swing and to enjoy the fish pond that Roger has created! The location is perfect with the beach a short walk away, a pond to fish at or enjoy the wildlife even closer and a quick drive over to Highland Light house! Roger and Marilyn are always very attentive and no request is left unfilled. The house itself is comfortable, clean and in excellent condition. One of my worries with rentals is the wear and tear on the place due to the large number of people in there throughout the seasons, but at 13 Pond Road, everything is in perfect order! It feels like my own home and I look forward to many more great summers at Cape Cod! Thanks Roger and Marilyn!
We look forward every June to seeing Brenda and Shaun and their daughter Joycelyn. They are delightful guests!
