We enjoyed our stay. The flat was not far from Sacre Couer with great views of Paris, and it was near grocery stores and a great bakery. Unfortunately the closest subway station was closed so we had to walk a little ways, but this is only a temporary situation. We had some issues with the water while we were there but Francoise kept us informed on the problems and the timing for repairs. We would definitely look to stay here again if we make it to Paris again.
The flat was spacious, light and well-fitted out, with very comfortable sofas in the sitting room, good beds, plenty of storage space, modern, clean bathroom, shower room and toilet and a well-equipped kitchen. The small courtyard outside the sitting/dining room would have been a nice place to sit, if it hadn't been raining! It was also very useful to have internet access and computer available and it was lovely to see a large bookcase with a good choice of books in English and French. The flat was close to Metro and bus-stops and there were Carrefour and Monoprix supermarkets within five minutes walk and lots of little shops close by. We walked to Sacre Coeur in about ten minutes and there was a bus to Gare du Nord which took about ten minutes. Would certainly book this again. The concierge was very friendly and helpful.
Flat was clean, comfortable and spacious. We had a warm welcome. Taxi to the main sights were quite cheap.
Montmartre had a lovely atmosphere for dinner and €9 got us all home by taxi.
Area was lively and it was nice to stay in a place where people actually live and work (compared to hotels in tourist districts). Will recommend it to my friends.
Chose the apartment on the strength of other reviews and was not disappointed. The location, very close to Sacre Coeur, is great. Advantage of underground car parking in this part of Paris is brilliant and the flat itself is large, spacious, all the facilities you need and secure. Madam Conroux met us and was very helpful with showing us round the flat and garage access. Francoise gave us so much pre-information that allowed us to find everything and access this part of Paris with no problems. We checked in early, found the flat easily and found our way round the Quarter without any problems. Considering the size of Paris and the worries you have about finding places and the right accommodation (let alone travelling with 2 children) then worry no more. Will return in future via train (Gare du Nord really close by) and use this as a base. 5/5 for pre-booking, amount of information and contact before arrival, contact names and numbers made available, great location of flat and comfort of flat. Both our boys lived being there and they are not easily pleased! Restaurant choices and supermarket availability in this area also great.
Highly recommend for anyone wanting to visit Paris. The flat itself has 2 bedrooms one ensuite with a bath and overhead shower a separate toilet then another shower room. This was ideal when returning in the evening and you all needed to cool down and clean up. The living are is huge and the kitchen was spotless with everything we needed to make simple meals and packed lunches. There are lots of shop nearby and Francoise the owner gave us lots of good information about local shops and places to eat before we arrived. The flat is less than 5 minutes walk from the metro and made accessing the tourist areas really easy. We made use of the underground parking that Francoise has and it only cost about 50 Euros for the week I think which was a bargain.
It has a secure keypad entry system which you will get the code for. Then you have a key to enter the area where the lift and stair are so it is really secure and safe. There is a lovely man who works there as the concierge and another lady who looks after the flat for Francoise They both met us at the flat and helped us with parking the car and sorting out keys.
Communication with Francoise was great she emailed everything we needed before arriving and I also spoke to her on the phone. We had contact phone numbers of the lady meeting us also which was handy as we were delayed in traffic and able to call and let her know we would be late.
I would highly recommend and if we get the chance to return to Paris I would definitely rebook this apartment.
There are two tube stations (from two different lines) within a hundred yards of the flat. on the way there You'll immediately find yourself in the midst of a throbbing, lively, cosmopolitan crowd offering their wares from Africa or Asia=the area is fast becoming a tourist attraction in itself. Exploring Paris is easy from the 18th arrondissement. A 10 minutes walk and you can watch the painters at work in the famous Place du Tertre in Montmartre, climb the steps to the Sacre Coeur and enjoy the view of Paris, or spend the day trawling the world's largest antiques flea market- le Marche aux Puces.
You can also take your car in the garage below and go and explore the Chateau de Versailles and its historic city around or go and visit Monet's famous house in Giverny, see Eurodysney or shop for luxury goods at 30% or 50% discount in the factory shops of such names as Givenchy, Féraud , Charles Jourdan Dupond e'tc...all regrouped in a big shopping center outside Paris.
