A lovely condo for our stay

  • 5 of 5

We very much enjoyed our stay here. We had a group of 4 and had plenty of room. A very nice location, maybe a 7 minute walk in snowboard gear to the Whistler gondola. We really enjoyed having the bay window overlooking the village stroll for our morning coffee and later for evening drinks.

Thanks Derek!

Convenient to shopping and dining

  • 3 of 5

Great location for shopping and dining, but a bit of a walk to gondola.

Quiet neighbors, comfortable beds, helpful amenities (gas fireplace, dishwasher, washer/dryer, coffeepot, pots and pans), attentive front desk personnel,(beds were not configured as we requested upon check-in), space enough for 6 people., although we had 5 - 3 doubles, or 2 doubles and 2 singles max.

Closets could have been less full of bedding to be actually usable, stove and microwave dirty/dusty, not quite enough glassware or washcloths for a full house, definitely not enough dishcloths for the week. Outside street noise can be a problem late at night.

Adjusting thermostats did not appear to do anything - had to open windows!

Couch and bathtub could use an update and maybe one more comfortable chair.

Ski locker would only fit 3 pairs of skis/poles, no boots.

Garbage and recycling removal is a pain - quite a distance with confusing directions and multiple doors to open with key - especially trying to leave in a rush at checkout -- shouldn't the housekeeping service take care of this on the last day?

Parking is a nightmare - spaces are tiny and no room to turn around - wouldn't have wanted to have an SUV in that garage!

Owner's Response: Hi Thanks for the constructive comments, I will certainly let the housekeeping crew know about the cleanliness, the bedding in the closets and the stove and microwave issue. The garbage and recycling is not something that we can remedy, the location of the garbage and recycling is set. Parking is definitely an issue as we've often feel the spaces are tight. Again, this is a shared problem throughout the complex. Regarding the ski locker, we manage to put 4 pairs in, but it does take some effort, I don't think the ski lockers were meant to include boots. We will address what we can. Thanks, D

Small and tired

  • 3 of 5

The unit was super clean and in a great location.

It is smaller than you would guess from the photos. It was a bit tricky finding space to put our things.

If you plan on cooking, bring your own cookware. The towel racks kept falling off of the wall. No toilet paper roll holder at all in the master bath. The shower in the hallway bathroom did not drain.

Parking in the garage was very tight!

We loved the window that overlooks the village.

Owner's Response: Hi We were the next guests after your departure and we were saddened to find the towel racks had fallen off. We addressed the issues that the guest has described. Undoubtedly, the condition wasn't to our usual standards. I don't quite understand the cookware issue, but I've told my cleaners to make sure everything is clean and in order. I can only apologize to these guests, we normally don't have many issues in our condo. The shower drain and towel racks etc have all been fixed. However, I've made a note of the comments and will try to do better in the future. Generally, our guest's comments are pretty positive and we appreciate all comments! Regards, Derek

Great location for a ski trip in Whistler

  • 5 of 5

Great condo located right on the Village Stroll, just a few minutes walk from the base of the mountain. The unit was comfortable, parking was easy, and the owner extremely responsive with any questions. When I go back to Whistler I will definitely look at staying here again.

Amazing Summer Adventure in Whistler

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had an amazing time at Derek's place. It was the perfect location right in the heart of the village. It comfortably fit our party of 6 (4 adults and 2 kids). The check-in process was super easy and the place was very clean. It was so wonderful to have a 'home-base' close by if one of us had to run the kids up for a nap or a quick bite to eat. We cooked at the condo most nights, but enjoyed the local fare during the day. We heard the occasional late night partiers outside our window (I imagine this must be way worse on the other side of the village since there wasn't really any bars on the side the condo is on), but closing our window almost completely muffled the sound. We absolutely loved our 'home away' and plan to return! Whistler is one of the coolest towns I have ever visited. There is so many local hikes and things to do! The drive from Vancouver to Whistler was stunning and we miss Whistler already! I highly recommend Derek and his hospitality!
