About Antonio Cruz

I live 6 minutes from the house and with the help of our wonderful maid, the gardener and my mother-in-law we manage this small business.

I am always within a phone call away to help in any way or to service the house.

I lived 15 years in Canada in my early years so I speak English perfectly. I can also communicate very well in French and Spanish.

Antonio Cruz purchased this villa in 2007

Why Antonio Cruz chose Galamares

What makes this villa unique

Incredible view, plants, flowers and green everywhere. The pool area and the entire house is a sun trap since it is facing south and protected from all winds.

The house has huge windows and in the living room even the doors to the exterior are in glass. Our maid, Marilia, speaks english and keeps the house stopless and does the cleaning in the middle of your stay. Within 5-10 minute walk there are a couple of restaurants with a pleasant outside area away from any traffic where one can sit for hours or until late in the evening. While the village of Galamares is very quite, major shopping malls, train station and the freeway are less than 10 minutes away. Going the other direction the various beaches with numerous cafes and restaurants are less than 10 minures away. Rent a bike (or e-bike) and have it delivered to the house.

Guestbook comments from the manager

A brilliant holiday for 3 generations of a family, great house, wonderful beaches and places to visit.

Amazing

  • 5 of 5

We stood there for 10 days. We have 6 kids and they all loved the home, the pool as well as the yard. Our oldest stood in the guest house and he loved having his "own" home. The cleaning lady was very pleasant and left everything spotless. We highly recommend this villa. We will consider staying there again if we return.

Geweldig huis en verblijf!

  • 5 of 5

Second time around! Amazing home and location.

  • 5 of 5

This was our second time at this villa, last time was 9 years ago for may Mom and Dad's 50th Wedding Anniversary. Home is even better now with all the comforts of home. Antonio once again was a pleasure to deal with and very accommodating with arrival times and fixing TV reception. This is a lovely location for a family get together. We held my Mother-in-law's 90th Birthday celebration there and cooked and entertained approx. 30 people. We were blessed with wonderful sunshine and were able to use the outdoor grill. Everyone enjoyed the comfort provided by the home and easy access.

Thanks, once again Antonio, looking forward to coming back again and this time with less time span in between. May be even one of the coming summers. Cheers

Perfect base for exploring the area

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I met in Portugal and dated in the Sintra area, so this was a real trip down memory lane, 20 years later.

It was a fabulous house - plenty of bedrooms, a great living room with views over to the Sintra hills and the Palacio de Monserrate. The rooms are spread out over the property, which gave some members of our extended family independence and a place to hang out, as well as plenty of places to get together, like the awesome outdoor eating area.

For the last 4 days, we stayed with friends who have 5 kids - we have two, so the house had 11 and handled it just fine. Everyone loved the pool (when we weren't out and about at the local beaches).

The best reason to come here, though is the location. The village of Galamares was quiet and felt not like the touristy areas of Cascais and Estoril (which we loved by the way!). There is a great cafe and a wonderful local restaurant 5 minutes walk from the house. We loved walking the neighborhood after dinner.

The location is quiet, but close to a lot of great stuff - Cascais and Estoril about 15-20 minutes drive, some great beaches only 15 minutes away (our favorite was the Praia da Adraga but we visited 3), Cabo Da Roca (the most westerly point of mainland Europe) only 20 minutes away and of course Sintra just a few minutes drive away. There is so much to see in the area we needed and loved 2 weeks in this area.

This house was so fun to stay in and we hope to get back one day.

A really nice and well-functioning house.

  • 5 of 5

We - a family of three generations and eleven persons - spent a wonderful week in Sintra. The house easily accomodated our large family. All was clean and neat. The kids, in particular, enjoyed the heated pool. Sintra and the surroundings is a pearl - lots of culture and an amazing nature.

Just two minor suggestions for improvments: The waste-pipe in the guest house is undersized and the double matress in one of the bedrooms needs to be replaced.
