About Léa et Kim

We are a Scottish family who decided to come and live the dream. With our 2 children we came to experience Aix for 2 years, fell in love with Provence, and stayed for 6 years. Having been so lucky to experience the charm of Provence we are happy to share a wonderful apartment and environment with you.

We have been welcoming guests from all over the world from January 2006. Please read our former guest comments who can give you an insight into our apartment and service.

Alas, due to work commitments in the UK we have just recently move back to Edinburgh.

Enquiries will be handled my Apartment Manager, who lives in Aix. He shall guide you through the reservation procedure, meet you at the apartment to hand over keys and answer any questions that you may have relating to your stay. You are fully assured of a warm and gracious start to your vacation.

What makes this apartment unique

One of the highlights of the apartment is the terrace. You can enjoy sitting on the sun filled terrace throughout the whole day. This is extremely rare in the centre of Aix.

Markets, shopping, museums, galleries and restaurants are all within easy walking distance from the apartment.

Food plays a large part in our daily lives here in France. We can tell you where our favourite cheese shop is located, the best coffee in town and where the most mouth watering patisseries can be bought.

A comprehensive list of places to eat in Aix together with recommendations for lunch and diner around the region are all readily available in our welcome pack.Little gems that are sometimes hard to come accross are always welcomed by our guests.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This apartment is very nice. It was roomy, and comfortable. The terrace was great. Rooms on the front are a bit noisy as the revelers start at 2 am and the newpaper delivery drivers thump their papers on Rue de l'Opera at 3 am. Closing the windows deadens some of the noise. The location is wonderful with only 2 blocks between you and the profiteroles for breakfast. The old town of Aix is so fun, and the street markets are worth experiencing. The only drawback is the four stories to the front door. For those with any mobility problems, this would not be the place for you.

We loved this place!

  • 5 of 5

The terrace is wonderful--we spent our evenings relaxing there. The rest of the apartment is comfortable, attractive, and well equipped, and the A/C in the bedrooms is a nice relief on a hot day. The location is perfect, on a quiet street literally just yards from the Cours Mirabeau, the old city, and a great little street filled with handy stores and restaurants. Kim was friendly, efficient, and helpful. The only downside is that the apartment is reached by 3 tall flights of stairs. Perfectly doable and utterly worth the bit of effort for us (two middle-aged parents and two teenagers), but if you have trouble climbing stairs you might want to think twice.

Excellent apartment, location & service from Lea & Kim

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay at this excellent apartment. We were a group of adults, parents with their adult children who could do their own thing. The terrace "made it" for us & when in the apartment spent most of our time relaxing or having meals there. Although we didn't need a car in Aix the added benefit of a parking space nearby was extremely helpful (our car was left safely parked in a secure garage for the entire time of our stay). Lea & Kim were extremely attentive & their service excellent. We certainly look forward to visiting Aix & staying at the apartment again.

Lovely Apartment!

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is in an excellent location with comfortable beds and a lot of space. There's a tankless water heater, so no shortage of hot water, nor water pressure. Although there was some rain on our visit, we nonetheless really enjoyed the terrace. Kitchen contained everything one could need to prepare a family meal. I we absolutely visit this property again. From booking to departure, it all went smoothly. Donal, the property manager was icing on the cake. His advice and guidance were invaluable! If there were one negative, it would be the toilette situation. Only one WC, which was dated, at that. But.... that is what it is. Wouldn't prevent me from staying again, nor recommending the property to others. We simply loved our stay!

Comfortable Apartment - Once You've Climbed The Stairs!

  • 4 of 5

This apartment is in a great location, very well equipped, and comfortably furnished. The terrace is a real bonus, even in the winter sitting outside in the sun was lovely! The stairs are a workout, though, and the one, single toilet might be a bit of a bottleneck for larger parties. Communication with the owner was easy, and the local contact, Donal Brannigan, was also a terrific (and reasonably priced!) tour guide who added greatly to our enjoyment of our trip.

Easy access to Aix

  • 5 of 5

The terrace makes this apartment unique and all the more enjoyable. We sat out in the sun for lunch and often in the late afternoon with wine, cheese and bread. It's up three levels or 60 steps by our count, but that was easily forgotten once you entered the apartment. It's a short walk to the Cours Mirabeau, the heart of Aix and around the corner from cafes, restaurants and the Granet Museum. The bathrooms are very modern, the living room area very spacious and the kitchen well equipped. We often shopped in the markets for cooking dinners. A car is helpful, but the bus services to various Provencal towns is reliable and moderately priced. You can rent cars for a few days and parking is included with the apartment. I'd choose to park at the Coronet location rather than the closer location near the apartment. Most older apartments even though renovated have only one toilet. This did not prove to be an inconvenience to us or our guests. The master bedroom can be noisy if the windows are open since you are right over the street (Opera). Overall this is a terrific apartment to use as a base to explore Aix and Provence.
