About Emily Glossbrenner
Bucks County Cottage on the Delaware is owned and managed by Emily and Alfred Glossbrenner, authors of over 60 commercially-published books with combined sales of over a million copies. We also wrote and published 'How to Make Your Vacation Property Work for You,' the very first book on the subject of do-it-yourself vacation rentals.
Emily Glossbrenner purchased this Cottage in 1987
Why Emily Glossbrenner chose Morrisville
Every location has its charms, but we have always been particularly charmed by Bucks County, PA. Historic sites, homes, and public buildings dating from the late 1600s on; the Delaware River, teeming with wildlife; the mule-barge canals with their towpath bike trails; European-style restaurants located in old inns; and easy access to New York and Philadelphia by train. Under the circumstances, how could we *not* have ended up buying a 200-year old Bucks County farmhouse on the Delaware River, complete with a rented bungalow, which we later turned into a vacation-rental cottage that we love sharing with guests from around the world.
What makes this Cottage unique
It's like staying at one of Bucks County's legendary inns and B&Bs, except that you have the whole house to yourself. So you can sleep as late as you please, fix your own breakfast in the well-equipped kitchen, and come and go from your own private driveway. You can spend your days relaxing in the living room with views of the Delaware River and a crackling fire in the woodburning fireplace. Or sit outside on the English Garden Bench with a glass of wine and a good book. When you're ready to venture out, just head north on River Road to Yardley (2 miles) and New Hope/Lambertville (13 miles). For more details, visit our website at buckscountycottage 'dot' com.

Excellent cute cottage in Buck’s county
Great place, warm, comfortable, everything you need! I highly recommend it and am usually hard to please. I had a wonderful stay and look forward to going back. Thanks so much Emily!
Beautiful cottage - your private B&B
We enjoyed our 12 day stay at this beautiful historic cottage. The location was perfect as our base and we enjoyed the surrounding towns. The cottage was as pictured. The sheets and linens were of outstanding quality. The cottage is well appointed and equipped to meet your every need.
Emily was wonderful to work with and very accommodating and helpful. The cottage was very clean and well maintained. It was wonderful to stay in such a well maintained and loved property. It was like our own private B&B. I will definitely look for an opportunity to return.
Incredible place to stay
We stayed here to celebrate our 35th Wedding anniversary. The property was exactly what we expected, and was very well kept. Emily and Alfred pay great attention to detail and there was not a thing that was lacking in this cottage. Emily went over the top with including breakfast items to get started. I would highly recommend this Cottage. Emily and Alfred has tons of information on things to do in the area. We particularly enjoyed the Washington Crossing Historic Park, and many other outdoor activities. Dinner at the Canal Street Grill was amazing and a nice walk down the Delaware Canal towpath rounded things out nicely. We were even able to order dinner one night through Uber Eats. We will definitely stay here again!!
Cozy, Comfortable, and Charming Cottage
We so enjoyed our 2 night stay at this cottage. It was not only clean but felt clean the minute that we walked in. There is a lot of attention to detail that makes your stay comfortable and that most rentals don’t consider - like quality hangers with clips, enough towel bars and hooks to hang your towels and also close by the shower, room darkening blinds in the bedroom, fragrance free linens, and much more. It is decorated just like a house that I would enjoy living in. We so enjoyed having a fire in the fireplace both nights. The views from all of the windows are pleasant and it’s private from the main house. There was more than enough space for the two of us. Emily and Alfred are great hosts and Emily is incredibly responsive, helpful, and nice. I can’t recommend this rental more and hope to find a reason to return.
Charming Bucks County Cottage
The cottage is charming with a beautiful view of the river! The owners were lovely and very accommodating. It has a classic Bucks County atmosphere. I would highly recommend this rental!
Emily and Alfred covered every situation that could arise when away from home...from "basics" in the kitchen, to a washer and dryer, to band aids and aspirin in the bathroom. They did not overlook one detail. A true "home away from home". Immaculate. Private (it truly is a stand-alone cottage!). Cozy. Centrally located to all sorts of activities, from historical sites to New Hope/Lambertville, to flea markets, to Philadelphia and New York. Warm and welcoming every time you pull into the driveway. "Perfect" sums it up.
Shopping and antiquing in New Hope and Lambertville. Hiking, biking, and birding. Fabulous Bucks County restaurants. Rafting and tubing on the Delaware River. Tours of historic Washington Crossing Park, Bowman's Tower, Bucks County Winery, Michener Museum, and Henry Mercer's eclectically built and furnished Fonthill Castle (1908) in Doylestown. Spend an afternoon in Princeton: Picnic components can be bought at the shops on Witherspoon and Nassau streets, then pick a place on campus to have your lunch. Visit Cottage Club on Prospect Street, where Scott Fitzgerald set a scene from *This Side of Paradise*, stop in at Firestone Library, and don't miss the University Chapel, with its magnificent stained glass windows. Built in the 1920s, the Chapel is considered one of the great masterpieces of American Gothic architecture.
