About LA SERENELLA West Wing
HISTORY OF VILLA LA SERENELLA: Planned and built in the 16th Century by architect Andrea Palladio and originally named Villa Acquistapace, the Villa's illustrious former owners include the Floriani family, who left their testament on a beautiful acquaforte dated 1744, that depicts the Villa with the description 'view of the Floriani brothers' Palace in S.Pietro in Cariano in Valpolicella'. Our magical visit
We were a party of 5 adults and 8 children and we had an amazing stay here. A little bit “shabby chic” in parts and we would have welcomed air con as the fans were not sufficient for the temperatures at night. But all in all it was beautiful.
Great Place! (with a Small Catch)
The villa is stunning both inside and out. The grand hall and two master bedrooms are breathtaking. Great location and excellent services for events. The owners are extremely helpful and eager to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
The one thing people should know before going in though is that there are actually two separate villas in this building. So if the people occupying the other villa are quiet there's no problem. But if they come ready to party then you will definitely hear them and notice their presence. That might not be a problem for many but it should be kept in mind so there are no surprises.
Other than that La Serenella West Wing is absolutely perfect!
A charming, beautiful villa perfect for family or group gatherings
La Serenella is a magical place with everything one needs for a perfect holiday. The area in which is the villa is located has wonderful restaurants and wineries to visit. Verona, Lake Garda and Vincenza are all easy day trips.
The pictures simply speak for themselves. This is a truly stunning property in a beautiful area.
We have had the most wonderful stay in La Serenella. As a party of 12 encompassing 3 generations there was plenty of room for all. The setting is gorgeous and very private yet there is also the secret door that leads you straight out into the village to make walking to the various restaurants so easy. There's a great pizza place which also does take aways and we had a delicious meal at Locanda dal Nane in the garden at the back of the church. The adults went wine tasting with Matteo at Montecarino vineyard. His enthusiasm for wine was infectious and we spent a wonderful afternoon there. I'd also recommend going to Torri del Benaco - a gorgeous lakeside town with a Monday morning market. When the weather became very hot we drove slightly further afield to the cooler Lake Ledro - a smaller lake slightly north of Lake Garda. There's a hotel overlooking the end of the lake where you can have lunch with an amazing view. Take your swim stuff as peddle boats with slides can be hired for 7euros a half hour. We also spent lots of time just relaxing at the villa. The pool was used every day. We especially liked late afternoon as it was by then in partial shade. Being above ground made it feel much warmer and we all agreed the temperature was very pleasant. Our favourite days were bellinis by the pool followed by a stroll to the pizzeria. We would like to thank Giada and her mum for their hospitality. They were the perfect hosts.
Charming, beautiful place.
Stayed for 10 nights with the family, and had such a lovely holiday. The house is big, plenty of space for the 9 of us. Enjoyed the pool a lot as it was an average of 30°C each day!
The rooms are situated on floor 1 and up, so those of us staying at the top worked our calf muscles.
The other side of the villa was rented out to a group of Germans who enjoyed a few drinks every night, but after a gentle word they were quiet. The house is insulated but as there is no AC you will need the windows open during the summer so will hear some street noise and church bells.
Can really recommend Flat Tio vineyard, around 15 minutes walk from the villa. Family owned and so enthusiastic and knowledgeable, really worth a visit.
I can really recommend this house, great base for trips to Lake Garda and Verona, and also for just enjoying Valpolicella.
Beautiful and perfect Italian villa!
Loved this gorgeous villa in the Italian countryside!
VERONA IT'S A MUST:
Verona, the largest city in the region after Venice.
With a rich Roman and Etruscan past, feudal families dominated Verona. In 1263 the Scaligeri family began their 124-year rule of Verona. In 1387 Verona fell to the Visconti of Milan, and a succession of outsiders—Venice (Venezia), France, and Austria—then ruled the city until the Veneto was united with Italy in 1866.
Verona is a vibrant trading center and one of the most prosperous in northern Italy. Its ancient center boasts many magnificent Roman ruins, second only to those of Rome itself, and fine palazzo built of rosso di Verona, the local pink-tinged limestone, by the city’s medieval rules.
As a setting for Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Verona is still a magnet for lovers. Aesthetically pleasing, swathed in pale pink stone curling along the banks of the River Adige, streets paved with marble and lined with discreet restaurants and designer shops.

PALLADIO 2008: Five Hundred Years Later:
Five hundred years are an important turning point, especially if they fall on the last quarter of the second millennium, which showed that acceleration of history in which trends and fashions followed one another at increasing speed. To be still en vogue, or better, highly acclaimed, is an achievement only few have reached. Within the restricted elite of intellectuals, Palladio is the only architect: think of the post modern revival, but think most of all of the attention his works arouses in every new generation of designers. And his artistic conception reveals new aspects every time; the latest of which, in this time of environmental problems, the relationship between man and nature, between architecture and territory, thus mixing in modern terms the Renaissance concept of the useful and the pleasant. LA SERENELLA West Wing is an ideal location to start your tours to visit the Palladian Villas in the near Vicenza.
