We had a lovely few days in this house over New Year. The house is located just metres from the beach. The weather was fab over the NY - blue skies and crisp days and the house ideally located to take advantage of every ray of sunshine. The house itself is very comfortable, warm and well stocked. We had three generations in the house for the few days and we all had ample space. Thanks Dave for sharing your house. We will definitely be back!
We are a family with 2 young boys, 5 and 3, so when looking for a house we need to take their needs into consideration as well as our own.
Great modern house, number 3 among 5. 1 & 2 are lived in (holiday rentals). 4 & 5 are built, but are shells, I wonder did the builder run out of money. Would be a great project if they ever come up for sale. Watch this space.
Back to number 3. Originally we planned on going ourselves, but my younger nieces and my sister came along. 3 adults and 5 children in total. The house is as described, plenty of space for all, big kitchen with dining area, separate living room, enough chairs, enough cutlery and plates and cooking pans etc. Enough hot water! Great water pressure in the showers. Nothing was missing, more then expected! Particularly good, were the black out blinds in 2 of the rooms - the children slept (and slept) there!

The house is very well equipped and in a very nice location. The layout is perfect for a family with 3 small children and has a nice enclosed grass area to the rear. The property was clean when we arrived and quite well -maintained and there was never a shortage of hot water for showers. The washing line was very useful! David, the owner, was very pleasant to deal with and assured us that if we had any problems or complaints that we should contact him and it would be sorted out quickly. Thankfully everything was very satisfactory. I would recommend this house to families.
I very much enjoyed walking down the lane that led from the bottom of the garden to the beach, it was extremely fragrant with lots of wild flowers and shrubs with a stream alongside. The area is lovely for walking with great views and plenty of different routes. It's a good walk to the shop and the village of Dungeagan is worth a visit. We also enjoyed walks to the abbey and the pier. The beach is very pleasant and great for a walk in the long evenings. The sea was surprisingly warm and great for a swim when the tide was in. We enjoyed a very good meal in Dooleys Restaurant in Waterville. Overall it was a very enjoyable break and as relaxing as is possible with 3 children under 6! Denis and Aine.
We spent a week in Ballinskelligs. The proximity to the beach, Pubs with live music, chocolate factory, local B&B serving all day breakfast, late night food truck serving fish & chips, the Ring of Kerry, Skellig Michel, as well as world class links golf makes this an ideal stay. The house is much larger than the pictures give credit. The large kitchen and dining area is the gathering spot for sure.
David, the owner, was kind enough to call and correspond before our stay. The housekeeper even checked on our needs after our stay began. We have stayed in my HomeAway properties over the years, this will remain one of our favorites.
We had a fantastic stay at David's holiday home in Ballinskelligs! The house is large enough for 8 but could accommodate 10 at a push. The house was perfectly clean on arrival with plenty of clean towels for us all. The bedrooms and living areas are spacious and well decorated. The dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer were all much appreciated! The garden is a nice size and access to the local beach is across a cute little bridge at the end if the garden.
David was a pleasure to deal with and always available on the phone. He answered emails promptly.
I would highly recommend this holiday home to families with children of any age. We had a great holiday and the weather was fab!
Large, comfortable, family friendly property. Very clean and well equipped. Beautiful location, so close to the beach with plenty of places in the surrounding area to visit. Loved walking on the beach each day followed by a cosy open fire each evening! Would love to return during the summer time. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing tranquil getaway. A real home from home.
This recently built cottage is in the village of Ballinskelligs which is in the tourist region of south Kerry. It is located on the Wild Atlantic Way tourist route. It is within 1 hour by car from Kerry International airport and within 1 hour of the major tourist town of Killarney. Major tourist attractions in the area are the world famous Waterville Golf course, Derrynane National Park, Skellig Island Monastic Site, which can be reached by boat from the village harbour, Valentia Isalnd and the Ring of Kerry Tourist Route. Area has a wide array of beautiful cleann and unspolit beaches with outdoor activities such as surfing, windsurfing, fishing, diving, hillwalking, horse riding. There is a local post office and petrol station in the village as well as a pub/restaurant which provides traditional Irish entertainment at weekends. The nearest town with supermarkets, shops etc is Cahirsiveen which is 12km away. Property can be reached by UK from ferry to Cork which is 2 hours by car.
