ROME ITALY PERFECT FRESCO APARTMENT
This apartment Featured in Travel + Leisure Magazine.
Luxury penthouse with an expansive terrace from which to enjoy Roman life 'al fresco'.
Located in the upscale Prati neighborhood, an area along the western side of the Tiber River, with graceful buildings it is much coveted by Romans as one of the most livable historic center locations. It is convenient to the major sites, walkable to shops, cafes, restaurants and public transportation.
“Just across the river from the historic center and five minutes walk from St. Peter's, the Prati neighborhood is quiet at night, but filled with food shops, restaurants, gelaterias, and terrific shopping.”
Prati has much appeal with some of the best shopping in Rome. The neighborhood was developed in the late 1800s and early 1900s with wide, tree-lined streets reminiscent of the boulevards of Paris. Romans and visitors appreciate the proximity to the popular historical center while being able to escape the crowds in the narrow streets.
The apartment is at the top is a well maintained seven-story building from the 1800`s. Enter the lobby and there is a very small elevator up a few steps.
“From the moment we walked in the front door, we knew we were staying in a rare gem hidden within this city that has become one of my personal favorites over the years.”
A small foyer opens to a long attractive hallway with a trio of windows dressed in elegant silk drapes. Because the apartment is top floor with windows on both sides it is bright and pleasant year round.
At the end of the hall is the living room with vaulted ceilings, a fireplace [non-working], two sofas, dining table and chairs and and glass doors that open to the terrace. One of the sofas converts to a queen size sofa bed, the other into a single sofa bed. The apartment is decorated with taste and style, with a successful blend of family heirloom antiques with modern pieces such as the glass dining table. Handsome wall sconces, interesting decorative curios from the owner`s global travels and tasteful artwork are the icing on the we haven`t even started to talk about the terrace.
Up two steps to the terrace where you can enjoy the best of Rome from this outdoor retreat. A view of the terrace is enjoyed from the living room, the kitchen and the bedroom. Life under the Roman skies will be yours, whether it`s enjoy meals outdoors at the patio table or lounging on the recliners while you read your book or nap. What better way to enjoy 'La Dolce Vita'.
“Our favorite part of Fresco was the terrace. Surrounded by flowers, plants and trees, it was a true oasis for us.”
The kitchen is modern and fun with a jolt of vivid red and with doors to terrace. Cabinets and appliances line one wall with refrigerator, dishwasher, sink, stove, oven, microwave. It is fully furnished with pots, pans, dishes.
“Comfortable couches and a dining table to enjoy breakfast each morning.”
The living room and kitchen both have doors so the living room can be closed off for privacy.
Off the hallway is a half-bath with toilet and sink.
The bedroom has a queen size bed, antique bureau, night tables with lamps, a wall of closets and a pleasant large window to the terrace. The master bathroom is en suite with marble finishes, sink with good counter top space, toilet, bidet and bathtub with shower over.
“The bedding was beautiful with ironed cotton sheets and a king size bed.”
This apartment is offered by Italy Perfect. We are a family business with a mission! We want you to love visiting Italy as much as we do. We are sisters Lisa and Pat Byrne who lived in Italy in our youth and now travel there frequently for business and pleasure.
The Owner purchased this apartment in 2005
This property was even nicer than the photos. We had an odd request for an electric tea kettle and were pleasantly surprised that it was there when we checked-in. Rene, our greeter, was waiting for us when we arrived. He was available at any time for any question we had on the apartment. He also turned out to be the best person for helping us find hidden gems in the city to visit as well as restaurant recommendations.
This was our first time getting a vacation rental apartment in Europe and we truly believe that Italy Perfect was the reason for our wonderful experience. The information packets that Pat and Lisa provided were very detailed and spot on. I doubt that other agents provide this kind of stellar service
I knew as soon as I saw the picture of the terrace that this was to be my home for 3 months in Rome - and I was certainly not disappointed! Fresco is a lovely apartment, nicely decorated and comfortable in every way. When I was there by myself, the bedroom with pleasant bathroom was perfect. When I had a guest, the sleeper sofa for them was comfortable, and the half bath a godsend. The terrace was even better than expected -- large and filled with plants. Prati is a perfect neighborhood, close to the Vatican but nicely away from the main tourist routes to it - and a 15-20 minute walk to il centro across a bridge with angels -- ah, Roma. The owner was wonderfully responsive on the few occasions when I had questions. I can't recommend the apartment or the services of Italy Perfect more highly.
Prati is quiet and at a walking distance from main monuments.
Mercato rionale is cheap but Franchi and Castroni top level.
Many supermarkets nearby.
Terrace is a real plus.
Without any doubt I recommend Italy Perfect.
Great professionalism of all the team from headquarters to the greeter as kind than efficient and available.
Italy Perfect was absolutely perfect going way beyond with providing information. The property was exactly as presented which is rare. The furnishings were very nice and the area was very safe and beautiful. Shopping was around every corner. The area is loaded with good restaurants and markets. You get much more quality area in this rental and for a reasonable price. We have paid twice this amount for hotel accommodations. Sahvelah which I have butchered the spelling, is a wonderful person. She is so warm and friendly. She gives you top notch service beginning to end. Probably my favorite person we met in Rome and Florence.
Proximity to everything is within walking distance unless you are a bit lazy like us and take a taxi or the Metro. Everything is convenient and the accommodations are posh, clean and safe. The amenities of the area were endless. Thank you Sahvelah for everything. We will see you again.

Let's start at the beginning which was my interaction with Pat/Italy Perfect. And it was perfect at every stage of the process with unbelievably fast responses to any questions, concerns etc. and tons of useful information. Listing was completely accurate and photos actually did not do the place full justice. I will use this company and its affiliates wherever I can. I also should mention that italy Perfect recommended Carolina as a guide/personal assistant and we spent 3 days doing various types of private tours with her and we HIGHLY recommend her.
Now on to the Greeter, the best yet in all our years of travel. She was there waiting outside the building and helped with the luggage. She spent almost an hour explaining how everything worked and having us try things to be sure all would be OK. She left her own notes about stores, restaurants, etc. to supplement those provided by Italy Perfect and the owner. She answered any and all questions and left her number and email address in case we had more. And she was enthusiastic about the Prati district and how much we would love it as she does. And she was absolutely correct. We loved the Prati area. It is within walking distance to so much but yet is a residential area with many trees, shops, restaurants, etc. and not many tourists. Everywhere we went there was far more Italian being spoken than English, but folks working in the various business also spoke fair to excellent English. And prices were much lower than in the historical district and food was often fresher and homemade. Lovely!
As for the apartment...perfection. Beautifully decorated and also highly functional and comfortable. I cooked many meals there without any problems. We had some lovely warm days/evenings where we got to eat outside on the terrace or at least were able to have our aperitifs there even if we had to go inside for dinner. The view was super, the bed VERY comfortable, and we were able to sleep well as it was also quiet. We truly felt like we could just go on living there and be perfectly happy. ITALY PERFECTly happy!
This large one bedroom apartment is on the sixth floor (top floor) and offers a wonderful terrace as beautiful or more than you see in the picture. For a city apartment it is very quiet and excellent for restful sleep. It is close to neighborhood restaurants and shops and is a short walk to the 'old city' just across the river. We even walked to the Colliseum for the tour of that must see Roman ruin. The kitchen is nicely equipped as well and we made a meal there but found the local restaurants so good and so well priced for quality and value that we spent our evenings dining out. We are sure you will enjoy this warm and welcoming space!
Back safe and sound in Toronto and in short order started to mull a return...the daily interactions I was able to have with my improving Italian simply delightful...in Mercato Rionale, (the local farmer's market) the 'guys' would say, "a domani per la nostra lezione d'italiano"!
And so it went.
We very much enjoyed Fresco's location - I have to say the crowds in Centro were beyond distracting not to say enervating - repairing to Prati was quite perfect.
