Elegantly Furnished Apartment adjacent to 7th fairway & close to the Beach
- english, portuguese
Hi. We came to live and work permanently in Portugal in 1991 and have grown to love this quiet and unassuming country. In 2006, we purchased the apartment also rent out a house in the Coimbra area.
Steve purchased this Apartment in 2006
Why Steve chose Praia D'el Rey
At the time of purchase, Praia Del Rey resort was already established and well developed which gave us confidence to buy the apartment off plan. We were delighted with the finshed result and particularly pleased with the beautiful gardens and pool area.

Steve was exceptionally easy to deal with and the property clean and quiet.
Excellent well-equipped property
This was all we hoped it would be in terms of accommodation, and the owner, Steve, was very helpful through the booking process and in responding to the few queries we had. It was comfortable, spotlessly clean and very well-equipped. The property is at the edge of the development and so pretty quiet. Golf clubhouse and Marroiott hotel are 10-15 minutes walk away. In terms of location you definitely need a car to get around. Peniche is a nice little town (good restaurants) and Obidos is good but very crowded with tourists. Lots of other places to visit a little further afield - Buddha Eden at Bombarral and Monastery at Alcobaca to name just 2. Tribeca retaurant in Serra D'El Rey is good
The apartment complex was located in a quiet location with a communal swimming pool for a handful of other residents so there was no over crowding.
The resort has everything you need with a choice of bars and restaurants at the different beautiful golf courses.
We visited local villages outside the resort where we ate which was much cheaper than the resort.
We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it especially for families who do not have young children as there isn’t many activities for youngsters to do other than surfing and golf.
Great place for adults especially if you fancy golf and surfing.
5 star holiday apartment
We were really impressed with this beautiful apartment . Everything was spotless and clean . The kitchen had everything you would possibly need . Swimming pool just outside the patio doors with lovely well maintained gardens , nice and clean garden furniture with barbecue . Very quite and peaceful . Steve the owner has been fantastic any queries I had , I emailed him and with in a few hours he emailed me back . We would recommend this luxury apartment to our family and friends. We played golf whilst we was there , the golf course is only two minutes away by car , playa del Ray is fantastic course to play , also golf club is very friendly and food is great too. We visited four restaurants while there and every one I would recommend . I can honestly say we had a great holiday . Thanks Steve and we will be uses your services again . From Mark, Carol,Barry and Helen from Sheffield .
a wonderful 10 days at praia del rey !
Just got back from this lovely apartment, which is well equipped with everything you need to enjoy your stay. It's just a few minutes by car to the beach, which can be accessed through the marriot hotel on the resort. If you speak nicely to the hotel staff they'll let you use the hotels pool also! Several other beaches are only 10 - 15 minutes away , but you could equally stay on the resort and find plenty to do, from golf, tennis, table tennis, mountain biking, even paintball!
Steve, the owner, made the booking very easy and very easy to deal with, and one of the few apartments I found that allowed a 10 day stay. All in all thoroughly recommended!
Golf: Golfers will not be disappointed with the course and its manicured quality, suffice to say it has ratings of Nº1 in Portugal (Peugeot guide) and Nº13 in Europe (Golf World). The views as you walk around the course are stunning and constantly changing from cliff top ocean views, local countryside and pine forest bordering the lush fairways. A truly great golfing experience.
Club hire and PGA proessionals are available for lesson. If you are planning on quite a few rounds of golf, then have a change of venue and play Bom Sucesso or Royal Óbidos, both close by.
The clubhouse is well equipped with a well stocked shop and a bar and restaurant for light snacks or full meals with a choice of local or international cuisine.
For discounted golf rates, there is a range of websites with special offers.
Besides golf, there are other ways to enjoy yourself. Relax and read a book or just unwind in the sun by the sheltered pool before an alfresco dinner on the terrace . Take a day trip and do some leisurely sight-seeing around the fascinating nearby historic sites, browse the local shops and markets, play tennis on one of 7 all-weather, floodlit courts. No need to bring your rackets, they can be hired. In Peniche, don’t forget to stop and sample some freshly caught fish seared on the grill washed down with a bottle of 'vinho verde' a white wine unique to Portugal. Of World Heritage claim, the walled medieval city of Óbidos is close by with it’s enchanting narrow streets and picturesque houses adorned with hanging baskets laden with geraniums. You will find orange trees and purple bougainvillea around every corner. Take a panoramic walk around the battlements if you can handle the heights.
