We had a week here in 2008 and although the property was large enough and the terrace and views were fantastic our holiday was spoilt due to misleading communcation.
My husband is in a wheelchair and has to have a level access (wet room) showe. I emailed to check this numerous times before actually booking this property and was assured it would all be okay
On arrival after 2 days drive from London we were not only given a room that mu husbands wheelchair would not fit through the door but we had ti take the rims off so it would fit through the bedroom door.
The next day they did move us to the room next door that was smaller but at least we could get access to the bathroom with difficulty. When speaking to reception they tried to be very helpful but could not understand why we were upset that my husand would not be able to have a shower for the whole time we were there.
The older owner was quite rude and basicaly told us we could leave if we were not happy.
I note that the site still says it is wheelchair accessible but i think they should change that description.
The area, beach and view was fantastic though
The apartment was great; good location and clean. We did not feel that the property gave good value for money as we charged for cleaning at the end of the holiday and for using a credit card for meals and for the letting. An additional bill was given not only for the rental of towels and bedlinen but also the cleaning of them during the stay. On our return to England 2 members of our party need medical treatment due to severe ear infections which doctors believed came from the use of the swimming pools.
The rooms was clean and in good shape. The place was quiet with with spacy areas outside, fine beach, not crowded, good for sport (tennis, table tennis, soccer etc.), short distance with car to ex. Sirmione or Gardaland.
Very nice place for a relaxing holiday.
2 adults and 3 children ages 14, 13, 11. Have holidayed around Lake Garda for the last 2 years, just spent a week in Lugana (property 19126) before here.
Apartment immaculate, everything looked new/unused so we think recently refurbished, very well equipped with a balcony with a view of the grounds and over the lake. A?C was a seperate charge that we took advantage of! Only the bedrooms have AC so we slept with the doors open to keep the liviing area cool as our son slept on the sofa bed/futon.
The reception staff were nice and helpful. We did not use the restaurant but did have drinks from the bar, ice creams by the pool. One comment is that they were more expensive that what we have found in other areas around Lake Garda, ice cream which is a standard 1 euro/ scoop wherever we went was 2.35 euros here.
The pool areas are good but a little smaller than we had expected but the resort was not crowded/ busy and there was plenty of room. There were nice shaded areas all around the pools.
There is still that problem that seems to crop up wherever you go of people putting towels on sunbeds very early in the morning and often not appearing until nearly lunchtime or in some cases even later which is very annoying if your kids are playing in the pool and you are surrounded by beds with no one on them but still have no where to sit!. On the morning we left I was at reception by the pool at 9am, no other holiday makers around but every sunbed except 5 had towels on them. We then used these last 5 and had to watch another 4 families come out to find no beds without towels but still no other bodies on them up until 10.30/11am when we left for home.
Surely the reception staff could pick up these towels and keep them in a tub for collection which would soon stop the problem. It does state not to book sunbeds in this way in the information folder in the rooms but no one seems to pay any attention to this.
The ground floor flats also took the sunbeds from the pool areas to use in front of their garden terraced areas which didn't help.
Tried to walk along the shore at night, too many flies and no where to go. A car is needed as per description. The local towns for groceries and restaurants is an easy drive. The pizzeria nearest on the main road was great. Pieve/Tremosine/Campione covers the mountains with lovely hamlets and gorges then the kite surfers/wind surfers for a colourful spectacle.
We all had a lovely holiday, thank you
We are located on the west-south side of the lake, in Manerba del Garda, in a beautiful area, near golf, amazing and romantic little villages with lake promenade, shopping- centres, big entertainment parks as Gardaland and famous historical cities like Venice, Verona, Milano. To reach us from the motorway A4 (E70) Milano-Venezia take the exit Desenzano and follow the direction Salò-Riva. After circa 7km you will find the community of Manerba: at the big round-about of 'Crociale di Manerba' take the direction 'centro' (centre) of Manerba and, after 500 m, take the right in direction Moniga; straight on for circa 1,5km till the end of the street; there, turn right always in direction of Moniga and after 600 m you will find, on your left, the 'Via Seselle' street with our sign 'Aparthotel San Sivino'; turn left and go on for 800 m: We are on the right side of the way.
