About Tom O'Connor
This wonderful house has been in our family since the mid 1980's. We visit St Andrews frequently and miss it when we're not there. We love to renovate and with the help of some great local contractors managed to put a shine on this place. There's always more work to do in a 180 year old house, but we're taking a breather for a while and are happy to share it with others.

What makes this House unique
St Andrews is a pretty unique place with some special homes. We love ours because it's spacious, bright and in the middle of everything. Architectural character throughout, mixed with modern touches to make for an easy, comfortable trip. There's something great about hitting the grocery store at the beginning of the trip and just setting up camp for a week in this house. It's all on foot after the first couple hours. For us, that emphasizes that we're away from our normal routines. No cars, no trains, no planes. Just some good cooking in the beautiful kitchen, kicking back on the patio or taking in the town. It's hard to leave, really. The drive home is just an opportunity to plan the next trip.

Comfort and Beautiful
A most wonderful restful well appointed home for family and friends to gather.
Stunning property in the heart of once of the best and quaintest seaside towns we've ever been to...! The house is beautiful and huge - plenty of space for everybody to chill out, read, listen to music and hang out on the patio watching the wildlife in the backyard. Lovely sunroom, well kitted kitchen. Tom was a perfect host and dealt efficiently with a couple of hick-ups at the outset, mostly caused by our group...! He was very attentive and provided outstanding restaurant suggestions ...and good advice for how to play the Algonquin golf course - an absolute gem on the end of the water...! We had an awesome time!
Absolutely amazing! Our entire family gives this house 5 stars!
This is one of the most beautiful and fantastic homes we have ever visited or stayed in! We booked this for our daughter and son-in-law's wedding weekend. It brought together two large families and all of members of the wedding party under one roof. We have many special memories of our time in this awesome house! There was tons of space, beautiful decor, an amazing sun room, outdoor patio and huge yard. There is so much character and history in every single room and space in this house. Somehow the owners have taking the historic aspects of the house and blended them with a stunning modern kitchen and amenities that make this house magical. We highly recommend this rental home and we are all plotting a way to go back and spend more time enjoying and exploring this historic and modernly updated house! The owner Tom was fantastic to work with. He was very attentive, helpful and made our wedding weekend very special! He even had amenities for the grandkids to enjoy. We were very lucky to have the opportunity to also rent the attached apartment which made getting ready for the big wedding day at Ticklebelly Hill that much smoother and spacious. Thanks to the wonderful tenants for sharing with us!
Gorgeous home for a family stay
We rented this property for my family to stay while I got married in st Andrew's. The owner, Tom, and caretaker, Dave, were incredibly friendly, helpful, communicative and made my family feel very welcome. The property comfortably slept 8 adults, 2 tweens, and a couple tiny kiddies for four nights.
This historical property has charmed us all.
This property is absolutely gorgeous. We rented out Windrose with our bridal party, and anytime someone would stop in to say hello it would quickly be followed up with a demand for a tour of the house. The owners have somehow managed to provide the most beautiful updates without sacrificing any of its historical charm.
Location: ~1 minute walk to Water St or 5 to Kingsbrae Garden
Host: Prompt and ready with recommendations for areas around town
Grounds: Huge. Easy to get lost inside the house when first entering. The exterior has a large garden off of the brick patio. Everyday we'd be greeted by a doe and her fawns, it was magical.
Windrose is far and away the best property any of us have stayed in. After the first night we were already making plans to try and come back for a reunion trip. We loved it!
Stunning Home Away from Home!
This property had it all! First and foremost I would like to mention how beautifully this property has been updated but still paying tribute to the age of the home. The fireplaces in every room, the claw footed tubs, the lighting, windows and trim...beautiful! (I could go on!)
We were 8 Adults, 3 Teenagers, and 4 little ones and we had more than enough room to be all together or find a quiet spot to ourselves if we so desired.
They had several items on hand for the little ones that made it so much easier for the parents to keep them entertained.
The only slight negative was the fact that there was no air conditioning on the 1st and 2nd floor so at times it was a little warm. That being said, it has been unseasonably hot and humid which is not the norm. As per the owner's suggestion we would shut everything down in the day and opened everything up at night and used the supplied fans and the house stayed relatively cool. The most heat was in the kitchen when cooking on the gas stove!
The owner, Tom, was wonderful to deal with, very accommodating, attentive and had many suggestions to make our stay one to remember.
We had a wonderful family vacation! Thanks again Tom!
