This apartment is in a modern apartment block that has been recently been renovated and listed for architectural merit. It is close to lots of very high quality shops including a fantastic supermarket ‘Waitrose’ and good restaurants. You will walking distance to lots of attraction including the British museum and Covent Garden (theater district) although central the immediate neighborhood is calm and tranquil. The tube is on the door step and means you are never more than 20 minuets form most of London. The accommodation has lots of space and light with a large outside terrace. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a dinning area that seats up to 10.
We spent a wonderful week here this past June. The location was perfect. We were a few minutes from the Russell Square tube station and a short walk to the British Museum. A quick elevator ride down to the concourse brought us to an excellent supermarket, cafes, and shops. The neighborhood and adjacent park were very nice and felt safe. Lunch at Balfour's (recommended by Kierion) was just the beginning of what proved to be a great holiday. Never having rented a vacation property before, we were unsure what to expect. We were very delighted with the flat...it was comfortable, spacious, and very bright and airy as described. Because the weather was uncommondly dry and warm, we enjoyed coffee every morning on the lovely terrace. In the evenings, we enjoyed a bottle of wine (courtesy of the owner) with dinner. The bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen were all larger than we expected. Having a computer and a washer/dryer were welcome extras. If you're looking for a comfortable and convenient flat at very reasonable rates, this is definitely your best bet in Bloomsbury! Thankyou, Kierion!
This 2 bedroom flat in Bloomsbury is ideally situated for London sightseeing. Many of the attractions are within easy walking distance and all others are readily accessible from nearby bus or tube stations. Russel Square can easily connect you with any part of the city and King's Cross/St.Pancras and Euston stations are all within walking distance. Having a Waitrose market, several restaurants, a great local pub and several other shops conveniently located on the ground floor was most appealing. The flat itself was well appointed for our needs. Although it shows some need for refurbishment, everything was in working order and the accommodations were more than secure and satisfactory. Keirion Carroll, the apartment owner was readily available upon arrival and accessible throughout the stay. I would not hesitate to stay here again when visiting London.
We enjoyed our stay in this open and sunny location. It has a great shower and the rooms were all quite comfortable. We were out most of the time doing the sights so never cooked or spent much time here. It is a great location very near is a grocery and shops. The best part is that it is close to a stop on the Piccadily line and we could get from here to anyplace we want to go. No problems at all with the apartment.
A few suggestions for future travelers. There are stairs everywhere, in the tubes, castles, and almost any place you want to visit. We did two tours out of London, one to Blenheim and the other to Windsor and Hampton Ct. We enjoyed them all. If you go to Hampton Ct. Make certain you watch A Man For All Seasons. Don't try to drive here or take taxes. It will take 4 or 5 times as long to get around. We went to a wonderful restaurant called Amaya. Wonderful upscale Indian food. Quite expensive but delicious.
The two bedrooms were perfect for our family of 4. Everything we wanted to see were only minutes away. The host met us at the Russell Square station and helped us get a decent layout of the area. There is a grocery store and a number of restaurants in the complex. Very convenient for traveling.
Our family of 4 spent 4 nights here recently. The apartment is a 2 minute walk from a tube station on the Piccadilly line (direct from Heathrow!), in a complex with restaurants and a marvelous grocery. The architecture is rather utilitarian, but the apartment comfortable and complete. It is a 10 minute walk to the British Museum, among other attractions. We were greeted by a friend of the owner, who gave us all necessary information for use of the place. If we return to London, we will definitely consider staying here again.
My family of five stayed in this apartment and it was a perfect location for exploring London. We took the tube directly from Heathrow to the Russell Square stop almost across the street from the apartment, a huge convenience when you are five people with five big luggage bags. The apartment has big windows and a balcony, and the first floor of the building is full of shops and restaurants including a nice supermarket. The owner was very friendly. It was a perfect location for our family with three kids (ages 8 to 11) who slept comfortably in one bedroom. We'll stay here when we come to London again.
