Larry is a retired business entrepreneur. Dolores is a marketing executive. After 17 summers at Sea Colony we did something strange - we just didn't go home to NJ. We stayed here! Our beautiful condo is one of our investment properties at Sea Colony and where our overflow families stay when too many come to visit at the same time.
larry purchased this condo in 2004
Our family has spent the past 17 summers vacationing at Sea Colony. SC is virtually the only place of its kind on the east coast from Maine to South Carolina. All 4 of us would leave our hustle/bustle norther NJ stress behind and simply 'exhale' when we arrived at Sea Colony. So, buying a home here was a no-brainer. And if you want recommendations for things to do, places to eat or even the best local realtors - just call us.
we purchased our first home on Canal Court. Being able to drop kids off at the fitness center babysitters while we worked out was great. Dropping them off for date-night was really great. And, the first time it rained and the kids were threatening to bounce off the walls - we sent them to the indoor pool - AWESOME!
Even when we were just vacationing for a week at a time, we would meet the same very very friendly people at the tennis courts (3 blocks away), at the beach (tram ride away) and at the pools/gyms.
We were so pleased to have an opportunity to rent this Sea Colony unit; a great experience all around. It's a wonderful place to stay with lots of available activities including a very short walk to the Tram stop, fitness center, and large outside pool. The unit was very clean, orderly and well appointed; it was configured just right for our family with plenty of space. The inclusion of linens was a game changer for us and there were plenty of selections for linens and towels in the unit. The location is very quiet and we loved cocktail hour on the screened in porch after a long beach day. Larry was so easy to work with and very accommodating. We are sure to return when we visit Bethany Beach again. We would highly recommend Larry's unit at the Sea Colony.
Sea Colony is a wonderful place to stay. Everything was perfect. Two phone calls with Mr. Peck and receiving the key via mail was all we needed to do. Larry could not have made this rental more easier. My son's wedding was on the beach in South Bethany in September and was a beautiful morning. The owners of this property were the best to work with and should I every need a place in the future, this will be it. Larry, you have our grateful thank you.
I've spent most summers of my adult life at the DelMarVa shore renting different condos, but the Packs' rental at Sea Colony was one of our best experiences ever. The place is well-furnished, spacious with vaulted ceiling and large screened deck. Canal Court is tucked away and peaceful but not far from stop for the beach tram, which proved to be very reliable and about 8-minute ride to the beach. Larry's advice led us to one of best Mexican restaurants we've ever eaten at, in Lewes, Del. I honestly had some trepidation about being a tram ride from the ocean, having usually been within walking distance, but it worked out fine and having access to the Sea Colony outdoor pools and indoor hot tub at the beach was excellent. Even enjoyed having access to the SC tennis club despite being "schooled" by my 20-year-old on the courts. No, Larry can't improve my tennis game, but I'd very much recommend his accommodations at Sea Colony.
This is my second time staying in Larry's home in Sea Colony and even happier. They make it simple! We exchanged two emails, had a phone conversation and there was nothing more to do.
Sounds silly, but you just have to love Larry's check-in process. We got our keys in the mail 3 weeks before arrival. We drove up to the home, turned the key and voila - we were in.
We then went to the Sea Colony Marketplace to get some pizza. It was so cute watching everyone else line up at the ResortQuest office in the marketplace, waiting for keys and signing paperwork - while we were already in our bathing suits eating pizza in the plaza at Armands.
Since we were at Larry's last he has a upgraded the floors and added a new couch just made for napping and believe me that's what I did everyday when we got back from the beach.
Another small touch - Larry's list of greatest new places to eat. He was right on.
I've already booked again for the fall when rates go down.
We enjoyed our stay at this spacious upper Veranda Condo. This is a two story townhome like condo. The lower level has a large living room, dining room, L shaped screen porch and two bedrooms with private baths. The Loft as they like to call it has lots of room for the kids to play video games and a double bunk bed. Has lots of room for kids to sleep on beds and floors, in case you are bringing more then 4 kids like we did. We had lots of room for all 6 of them! Also this unit was better priced the the rest, near pools and fitness center, and beach stram. (beach is 8 minute tram ride). I'd rent this unit again next year. No hassles.
Getting what was promised is a rare thing these days. Larry's home was just as pictured and everything worked. If you are planning to come, bring a string and some old chicken neck and go out back to catch some crabs from the Assawoman canal.
thank you for the list of new restaurants, especially the new Jewish Delicatessen. Yummy.
Only thing I'm sorry about is that I didn't take advantage of your offier to buy some grocery staples for us before we arrived. Oh well, next year
