Sunny Pines Cottage Enjoy Spring in Yosemite
Sierra Trails Inn B&B, Mariposa
We are in the country and offer peace and quiet and awesome star gazing.
Jane and Richard were consummate hosts. Their house is spacious and lovely and has everything needed for a lovely time. We spent most of our time in the house in the glorious back room overlooking the beautiful backyard and mountains. We also all enjoyed tinkering on the piano and sitting outside whittling sticks. The house was very well appointed and had plenty of room for us all to stretch out. The location of the house sits almost in the middle between two entrances To Yosemite. Jane and Richard were able to give us advice and pointers of what to see and what trails to use in the park. Additionally, as I discovered I left a cable for my camera at home, Jane and Richard walked over that night and allowed me to borrow theirs. Super people and a super place to stay! Thank you so much!
Great place for Families or up to 3 couples.
Sunny Pines has plenty of room and all the amenities. The owners, Richard and Jane came to greet us and were a wealth of knowledge, dining, Yosemite hikes, even the local Merced River swimming holes. They even "arranged" for deer to greet us every morning and evening!
Beautiful property, comfortable house, fantastic hosts!
My family stayed here a few days while sight seeing in the area. We loved it. We were greeted by Jane and Richard when we arrived. They were fantastic to deal with. The home was clean, well maintained and nicely decorated, we felt very comfortable. We enjoyed watching the wildlife, deer and momma quail and her babies. At night time we enjoyed a nightly family game of Scrabble, and outside the stars were stunning. The entire family agreed we loved the place and would most certainly stay here again.
Excellent property with nice antique decor
We arrived very late night to this place, Thanks to the owners to be patient enough and greet us to give the keys so late at night and also helping us with places to visit. We loved Sunny Pines. It is well decorated with antique touch everywhere. The house is very spacious. The 3rd bedroom is small but perfect for kids. It has its own microwave and coffee maker.
There is plenty of parking space and Mariposa Market place is just 15 minutes drive. Perfect for long relaxing stay with all possible amenities required 'including a piano' for music enthusiast. I would definitely consider this place whenever I am back to Yosemite.
Thank you! It was great being part of your groups whirlwind tour of the west coast.
Jane and her husband were very informative and hospitable, they even printed material for near by hikes and attractions and made themselves available to us during our entire stay. The first day we arrived Jane met us at the front door and showed us around the property and answered all our questions and left us with some yummy breakfast goodies.
The property itself was very spacious and provided ample room for our family of 6. It was like being home as we used the amenities such as the full kitchen were we made breakfast and dinner everyday of our stay. Everything is well maintained and in perfect working order. She even provides extra linnens, jackets (yes, jackets!), coffee, etc. If you want to eat out or head to the supermarket the next town of Oakhurst has plenty of options and it's only 20 minutes away. We used the tv (Netflix) and Internet connection for music daily.
Yosemite gate is about an hour away, be sure to bring a camera to capture the beauty and memories. This was one of the best and memorable family trips we've made and a lot of it had to do with the comfortable stay we had here. Highly recommended for anyone!!!
I'm so glad your family had a good first introduction to Yosemite. I hope you're able to come back during another season to explore the area further. Every season is a wonder!
Jane & Richard
Charming, private, perfect
Our stay at Sunny Pines was exactly the restful getaway we needed. The house with its adjoining apartment is very spacious (it could easily house 8), nicely and comfortably furnished and really makes you feel like you've gotten away from it all. From a cozy fireplace in the family room to star-watching on the patio, from dinners in the large kitchen to hikes on the property's 30 acres, this rental has something for everyone. We especially loved the apartment which was lovingly furnished and felt like a snug bungalow. Our friends loved the "big house," because of all the amenities (fully stocked kitchen, two living areas, big screen TV).
Jane and Richard are the consummate hosts, giving us pointers on the house, the surrounding towns and of course, Yosemite. They really know the area (including a really cool coffee roastery and how to find the best wine and beer tasting places) and can hook you up with food, art and music venues nearby. The house is located midway between two entrances to Yosemite, so you've got great options for getting to the park. Also cool that the property backs up to the Sierra National Forest, so even at the rental, you really feel like you're a part of the park.
I am so glad we chose to stay at Sunny Pines. We'll definitely be going back! We can highly recommend it as a great place to stay the next time you're planning to visit the area.
Thanks so much for your kind review. It's always nice to have our guests appreciate the house as well as the whole property. Hope to see you again soon!
We are a small four room bed & breakfast located in Mariposa CA near Yosemite National Park. There is a separate cottage on the adjacent property that will accommodate 8 guests.
