Located just minutes from downtown Pittsburgh, our property on magnificent Grandview Ave, Mt Washington is perfect for business trips, a weekend in the city, and much more. Within walking distance is a handful of Pittsburgh's best restaurants, and the historical Pittsburgh Incline, which takes you to all the great things to do at Station Square and the subway into the city.
This historical house built in 1880 has been renovated with everything needed to make it the perfect city getaway. Also included is high speed wireless and free long distance.
Well we are back home and I am recuperating. I picked up a terrible chest virus which didn't start to really attack me until Monday the day before leaving Pittsburgh. So thankfully, I have mostly had to suffer on home turf.
Now I want to take a moment to compliment you on the beautiful designer home we arrived to. The renovation was really done to perfection. The interior touches from paint, flooring, furniture, decorative pieces, art, lighting and linen were done with true professionalism. And that is just how pleased we were with the inside. The roof top view was fabulous! We did enjoy morning coffee to evening cocktails in awe of the view of Pittsburgh from Mt. Washington. Just spot on. Like the old saying goes, Location, Location, Location! This is absolutely the "Whole Enchilada"!
Thank you so much for sharing your piece of magic here on earth.
I rented both units to celebrate my 50th birthday with several of my girlfriends and this place was more than perfect. I grew up in the Pittsburgh area and wanted to share my love of Pittsburgh with my friends. This house offers the best location. We could easily reach any location within the city since the incline is a just a few steps away, and then the T is available at the bottom. Uber is very active as well. The place was spotless, well-stocked and the views are spectacular! We loved the rooftop--we would take our morning coffee up there and relax. Barbara was very easy to work with during the planning of this trip. I would highly recommend this rental. Thanks for making my birthday celebration special!
This place exceeded all of our expectations. We rented both units for family to stay for our son's wedding. Both rentals have all the comforts of home and then some! The view and the accommodations are outstanding! There is so much to do and see in the area but we didn't really want to leave the living room. We even had front row seats to the Pirates firework show in the comfort of the living room. Can't wait to go back!
My son attends Duquesne University as a freshman and a big group of family made the six hour trip to see him in his first theater performance on campus. We rented both the lower and upper units. What a great place to stay and see Pittsburgh for the first time. Although we did see the show and took in a little bit of sightseeeing, we found ourselves very happy just hanging out in the upstairs living room and up on the roof top deck!! We truly cannot wait to come back again and again!!!!
Our son decided to "pop the question" while traversing the nearby Duquesne Incline to the top of Mt Washington. He invited both his family and his girlfriend's family to meet at the overlook adjacent to the Incline. Fortunately for all, she said yes! So, I searched for accommodations on Mt Washington and found this property on Grandview Avenue with a picture postcard view of downtown Pittsburgh.
We rented the upper unit, which was two stories high with a roof deck on top. Fortunately, it was 65F during our visit. The property was as advertised, if not better. Living room, kitchen & bath on second floor (entrance on first) with a master suite on the third floor. All furnishings including kitchen appliances were first class.
I am a former resident of Pittsburgh, and am familiar with the area. To someone visiting for the first time, navigating the town can be overwhelming. Having said that, the place is nice enough that you could spend the entire time on Mt Washington. Many restaurant options ranging from 4 star to neighborhood joints within walking distance. Downtown is clearly visible from the property, as are all the Pittsburgh professional sports venues. There is a clear view of the confluence of the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers, forming the Ohio River. Really awesome.
Bottom line….this is a truly unique property unlike anything you have ever seen.
We have visited Pittsburgh several times and it's one of our favorite cities but is quite complex with all its burghs, strips and sides. This by far was the best trip that we've had. We had the lower unit and thoroughly enjoyed the views from Mt Washington with our morning coffee or late night glass of wine - it was a real treat. We are seasoned VRBO renters and this property is VERY well maintained, clean and is beautifully decorated. We enjoyed small meals in as well as exploring the restaurants within walking distance. Did tours that were accessible by taking the incline down to Station Square. It's so easy to navigate the area. We highly recommend this rental. Barb was great to work with, was quick in her response to my questions and was very accommodating.
