The Penthouse at Windswept offers 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a generous floor plan and easy access to the beach and surrounding attractions.
Whether you choose to spend the majority of your time relaxing inside with a good book or sinking your toes into the sand just steps from your front door, you’ll find the best of both worlds on the property’s balcony, which offers incredible 180-degree sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Custom, Designer Interiors Almost As Stunning as the View
Though the view speaks for itself, the Penthouse’s interior is also worthy of a look, with its custom drapery, chic color palette, original oil paintings, designer furniture, granite countertops and hardwood flooring throughout.
Inside, you’ll likely spend most of your time in the Penthouse’s communal spaces. With floor-to-ceiling windows, the rooms are bathed in sunshine for many hours of the day. Settle in to the high-tech living room, furnished with a 60-inch smart television, soundbar, BluRay player, iPod docking station and CD player.
The dining room and kitchen are easily accessible and appointed with everything you might need to whip up a favorite family meal, or use this opportunity to experiment with a recipe you’ve been meaning to try.
At night, settle down in one of the villa’s cozy and beautifully decorated bedrooms. On the top floor, enjoy the superb ocean views from a king-sized bed, which is outfitted with a pillow-top mattress and the finest linens. A 32-inch flat panel television and large bathroom with a double vanity and deluxe tile shower round out the master suite.
Down the hallway, guests in the second master bedroom are also treated to exceptional views and an even larger bathroom with a double vanity, deluxe tile shower and oversized garden tub. Downstairs, the third bedroom features 2 twin beds and an adjacent bathroom.
Steps from the Beach
When you finally tear yourself away from your cozy abode, the surf and sand are mere steps away. Also within a short walking distance, find the Night Heron Park, local shopping and lots of restaurants. For a short day trip, head to historic downtown Charleston.
The Penthouse at Windswept is a Saturday-through-Saturday rental in the summer, and it is one of our most popular villas. If you need additional booking options, check out the 4-bedroom Breeze at Seascape, which we’re sure you will love.
About Property Managers, Shawn and Jeanette Lawson (Kiawah Island Getaways):
Shawn's family discovered Kiawah in 1978 and returned year after year for two-week vacations. In 1985 we drove our VW Bug convertible to Kiawah and Shawn introduced me to Kiawah. I remember stepping over the dune boardwalk out in front of the Kiawah Island Inn and seeing Kiawah's wide, sandy beach for the first time - it was so brilliant it practically danced before my eyes. It was during this vacation that the two of us decided to set our sights on moving to this beautiful and fascinating place permanently.
In 1988 our dreams came true and our U-Haul rattled across the Kiawah Island bridge (at that time it was nothing more than a wood-planked bridge). For the next four years we rented a 1-bedroom villa, 4251 Mariner's Watch. Shawn was so thrilled to be living on the island that he applied for the personalized South Carolina license plate 'KIAWAH' (which we still have today).
In 1992, we built our first home on the island at 134 Conifer Lane. During construction, I gave birth to our first son Benjamin - he arrived 2 months early in an ambulance outside of the Kiawah Island Fire Station.
In 2001, we purchased our first villa, a 1-bedroom, beachside Seascape and Kiawah Island Getaways was born. Once we got our feet wet with the villa rental business, it was a like a fever for us. We both really enjoyed furnishing, decorating and maintaining the villas - not to mention the new found fun of meeting and talking to all sorts of people about Kiawah. Because we really enjoy what we do, other Kiawah property owners noticed and we started managing their properties as well.
Our whole family loves Kiawah and running Kiawah Island Getaways is a true family-run business. We personally prepare each villa prior to your arrival - because we want your stay to be perfect. We want you to fall in love with Kiawah too...and we know you will.
Light and spacious with beach-inspired décor and the fresh scent of saltwater wafting through the open windows, the Penthouse is, quite simply, the ideal beachfront holiday retreat.
The orientation of the island made for a very cool sunrise/sunset at either end of the beach. Access to the ocean was easy and the beach was nearly all ours. The condo itself was immaculate and very comfortable. Access and parking was as easy as you're going to get on the island. Thanks!
I actually hesitate to review this rental because I want to keep the secret all to ourselves! We traveled with our three young children and it was the first time "Mommy" could relax on a vacation because everything was so clean, well stocked, convenient and accessible. The owners were more than accommodating and everything within the rental was explained clearly. The location to the beach and other amenities was exceptional. I cannot imagine ever being more satisfied with a vacation rental. Well done!!
We couldn't have asked for a more inviting place. As soon as we walked in the Penthouse it felt like home. There were fresh flowers, music, beautiful view of the ocean and the cleanliness was excellent. We rented this location last year and this year did not disappoint! We have stayed on a few properties on Kiawah, but we will keep coming back to this villa. This is the place to stay. The pictures of the property were exactly as shown. The master bedroom view is breathtaking and peaceful. We rented bikes for the first time on our vacation and we can't believe we didn't do it sooner. We had a wonderful time taking bike rides every morning and then went to the beach. We love this place! :)
We loved our stay at the Penthouse. It is well outfitted throughout. The view is wondrous. The furnishings are simple, yet beautiful giving a warm, inviting ambiance not to be forgotten.....and yet you know it has been professionally done. You feel comfortable and
at home almost instantly.
We have lived in the Southeast for years always looking for that perfect beach. We believe we have found it at Kiawah, specifically at the WindSwept complex. It brings back fond memories of our favorite beach on Monterey Bay on the California coast.
The owners were always available to answer questions and very responsive. The internet description was accurate and the photos were good but the "beach view" is far more spectacular than any camera could capture.
Overall great experience. The Penthouse was beautiful with lots of special touches that made our stay great. Great ocean views from multiple places throughout the condo. I especially loved the views from the master bedroom. Top quality technology in multiple rooms. The kitchen had everything we needed. The condo was in a great location (easy bike rides to the Sanctuary and grocery).
This villa was exactly as advertised, superlative in every way. The furnishings and décor were lovely; I had to stop myself from walking off with one of the glass pieces on display on the built-in shelves. We were looking for a villa with two master bedrooms, and this villa was just right. Neither couple felt slighted in any way. The linens and towels were wonderful, not what you normally get in a rental. Likewise the kitchen appliances and supplies. We normally bring many basic supplies with us, but we did not need any of them during our stay at The Penthouse. We did eat in five nights, and found we had everything we needed for cooking and serving our meals. The villa was very clean and well-maintained. We especially appreciated little notes owners left in various places throughout the villa that told you where to find things, or how to use things.
Kiawah Island Getaways provided lots of detailed instructions and recommendations for places to visit and to eat. We need to come back again to enjoy all the area has to offer. The rental process was simple, and it was nice dealing with locals who know the area well. We definitely would recommend The Penthouse to family and friends, and we hope to return ourselves.
