Villa Rottnaholm was built in 2011 and offers a modern yet very Swedish sense of space. The more than generous sized living-dining kitchen area opens up with its gable ceiling windows overlooking the lake and provides an almost breathtaking panorama and unique way of life in the midst of nature. A loft-style sleeping loft over the entire width of the house enjoys the same view. Two of the three bedrooms are built to the gable and give a wonderfully airy sense of space - in other words, it is an extra-class holiday home, modern floor heating, 2 bathrooms, sauna, fireplace and a park-like natural plot of 135. 000 m² in size. Forests and meadows alternate. On the lake shore, we have created fire pits for romantic evenings. There is a large trampoline for children and some seating. At three small sandy bays are our canoes. You like to roam on hiking trails (or next to it) this not so small holiday paradise. To introduce the special atmosphere and various leisure opportunities of our private property at Rottnansee the guest, we have developed our own website. Here you will also learn a lot about the surrounding area.
The surrounding area: The property is accessible only via a 150 m long private driveway and by trees and adjacent meadows an intimate world of its own. Old pine, lights birch forest, meadows, two torrents and the varied shoreline: this is pure Sweden. The area surrounding the Rottnansees is so beautiful that it was put under conservation; the opposite side of the lake is a nature reserve that you like to hike or 'he-paddle' can. Extensive boat tours offer springs to mind. The best impression of the area you win if you hike up the nature reserve across the lake on a beautiful forest paths. Once at the top, you can lay down in the grass, have a picnic break and enjoy the magnificent view over the most beautiful part of Värmland.
The Rottnansee with its fjords reminiscent of location is framed by mountains and with its length of about 20 km also not very small. Ideal for long tours by canoe.
The wider environment: In Sunne you will stay more than once certainly due to the larger offer for your daily needs. Leave the car but just stand at the train station and treat yourself to a train ride to the state capital Karlstad. The trip will not be disappointed, because it leads the Fryken along and is one of the most beautiful train journeys, I know. To then get to the 'metropolis' Karlstad know. You can also go from Sunne by car in the opposite direction to the Fryken Torsby along the road and take a detour to Tossebergs-Klättan and enjoy from up there the lakes landscape. It is worthwhile in any case; and from Torsby, located only 35 km from us, flying every morning a small propeller plane directly to Stockholm and back in the evening. This may sound a bit extravagant, but we have already done it myself and found it just great. Oslo does of course and is easily accessible
What there is of special features?: I want to play at this point no one guide-wisdom, but give specific tips, one of which is for food lovers, because venison specialties such as bear-steak, Auherhahn and Moose loin does not offer any restaurant. The best we know, can be found 25 km behind Gräsmark. It's lonely at Tvällensee and is simply called 'Värdshus'. Turn in the direction of Gräsmark Torsby from, follow the road but keep going straight towards Norwegian border to Simonstorp where you continue for 2 km and see the 'Värdshus'. The restaurant is just great and you sit comfortably ore. Along the way you will pass the Kymmen Lake. Here there is a wonderful barbecue under trees, but if you want it rather rustic (and a sandy beach).
