Very easy renting the cabin. The owner was quick to contact me with any and all questions before, on and after our stay. What a wonderful experience all together!!
Thank you very much, Anna & Family for choosing our place and for observing the house rules!
Impressive that you actually left our place in a condition better than you found it. You are every host's dream guest!
Our family spent the Easter weekend there. We had great time. The place is beautiful. Mark and his son, Matthew were very accommodating and quick to respond all our requests. We would love to come back again.
Khanh and his family have been the perfect guests! They followed the house rules, and left the cabin clean and organized. We absolutely can recommend them to other hosts!
Beautiful piece of paradise!
Honestly this family of upmost southern hospitality should be charging way more for this slice of heaven. From the awesome cabin we literally spent several hours just staring at to the amazing property it sits on. This place will leave you wanting more. My fiancé and I spent our late valentines day here and I can say it was more than worth it. The best way to summarize it is by stepping foot on this property. Fresh country air, great pond, just everything about it was amazing! Dont get discourage by the one review of a poor misguided soul that doesn't realize you have to respect someone's property and wishes to their full extent. After all the work this family put into this beautiful place the best thing to do is leave it as you found it. Thank you for the welcoming stay Mr. Bitara we will be seeing you soon!!
Thank you very, very much Jorge and Bea, not only for the kind words, but for your professionalism and understanding of the next guests who checked in while you were still in the cabin!
You are the kind of guests every homeowner will be honored to host.
You are welcome back anytime!
Worst experience I’ve ever encountered with anyone I’ve ever rented a home from. I’m shocked !!
I have never been treated as badly as The owner of this property treated us. First, he failed to mention that you have to walk 3+ minutes through a muddy cow pasture to get to the cabin, so i ruined a $275 pair of boots walking in the rain carrying my bags to my car. He has now updated his profile page, stating the things he has accused us of not following the rules on. My husband drove to the cabin at 3am after working 26 straight hours and left tire marks on the ground but nothing that would be noticeable once it dried up. He wasn’t going to walk in the dark while it was raining and cold outside after working 26 straight hours. The owner is now threatening to sue us for damages caused to his cow pasture which was not damaged. He also accused us of taking two hand towels and harassed me about staining another one that was used to clean the kitchen because there were no dish towels in the cabin.
I was back at home after our terrible experience at this property preparing for Thanksgiving Dinner and He kept texting me asking about the stained towel. I didn’t reply after the 4th time of going back and forth. He Never mentioned anything at this point about ruts in the pasture. I even went to the store and bought a swiffer mop and a regular mop along with cleaning supplies to make sure it was clean so he wouldn’t have to clean it himself. And this is how he treats someone who went out of their way to make sure his place was taken care of. So now he’s kept my deposit because of a Dirty hand towel and 2 supposedly missing hand towels. This is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had.
Had i known i would have to walk through a muddy pasture in the rain for a lengthy walk i would have thought twice before i rented this cabin. He portrayed himself to be a very kind and hospitable person but in fact, he has been a very argumentative and threatening type of person. I will never rent from this individual ever again due to this awful experience we had with him.
First, my apologies to the guests who feel that they were misled. Over 70 bookings both here on VRBO and another home-sharing platform with 100% positive reviews, this negative one is a first for us.
Second, thank you for this opportunity to address the review.
There was no mud UNTIL the guests violated the rule: “Do not drive past the rocked driveway if there is rain or the ground is wet.”
They clearly admit they drove (after a day of sustained heavy rain) on the restricted section: “My husband drove to the cabin…he wasn’t going to walk in the dark while it was raining and cold outside after working 26 straight hours.”
This violation caused extensive ruts. And if one chose to wear a $275 boot on the ruts, slow walking would result in a longer walk that normally is a short, pleasant, and relaxing stroll.
This rule was repeated to them before their booking was confirmed, and the response was: “That is no problem at all.”
Nothing in this listing has been updated, other than posting 3 new pictures to show part of the damages they caused.
We do an inventory before/after each booking. When we discovered that certain items were missing, they denied removing the items. Further inspection revealed that 13 collector license plates we intended to decorate the log cabin were also taken from our property!
There were kitchen rags and paper towels in plain view, yet they chose to clean the stove and oven with a white bathroom towel!
They stayed 3 extra days but contrary to written agreement, they did not pay the agreed amount. When asked, they promised to pay when they return on a future stay. Repeated requests to collect the $205 they owe were ignored.
When VRBO forfeited their $200 deposit for the damages, they threatened to ruin our reputation via a negative review.
There was not a single complaint BEFORE, DURING, AND AFTER THEIR STAY, until this deposit was forfeited. We showed them nothing but warm welcome, kindness, generosity, and hospitality.
In fact: here is a text from them:
“Omg I just got here and you have a little slice of heaven!! It is a beautiful place. Thank you so much for the goodies you left for us, that was very sweet of you.”
To other hosts, we hope this will help you protect yourselves.
To potential guests, please mention “WE ARE NOT PIGS AND WILL NOT TAKE WHAT IS NOT OURS” in your booking requests and your first night is complimentary. This offer is for the next 3 booking requests.
Nice, quiet, relaxing
We had a great time watching the Lightning Storm and listening to the midnight rain on the metal roof. The cabin itself is beautiful, the pictures don't do it justice. Great place.
Thank you very much, Bo! Hope to be your host again anytime. I truly appreciate your understanding of the wet ground situation!
Wonderful little vacation place
This a beautiful little place. The owner is very respectful and easy to deal with. Upon our arrival we were greeted with a greeting card, movie tickets and wonderful selection of breakfast foods. Including cereal, fresh fruit, muffins and coffees. We did request coffee cups that were brought to us by our host immediately with sincere apologies. We had total privacy. The views were gorgeous. It was very clean. The fishing was outstanding. We enjoyed the canoe and kayak so much we came home and purchased one of each. I enjoyed the wildlife and the cows, very peaceful to watch. We were permitted to have a fire by the pond and it has a grill also that we used. My husband and were ready to leave the suburbs for a little slice of heaven like this. We will definitely be back many times.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH, Summer!
My family and I truly appreciate your kind words.
You are the kind of guest any host will be fortunate to have.
