4. 5 bedroom apartment downstairs
The spacious living-dining room with cooking generously equipped kitchen, dishwasher, coffee maker, bar, Chemineeofen, TV-sofa (Swisscom TV) and a dining table for eight people (with child seats) leaves in summer and winter nothing to be desired.
In the bathroom with tub washing tower with washing machine and dryer allows the small laundry in between. The additional bathroom with shower is wheelchair accessible and wheelchairs. Three homely small bedrooms with two double beds allow the new maximum recovery. The sofa bed in the living room gives when needed two more beds.
The large patio on the ground floor with stone arena, fire pit (with a large grill), deck chairs and granite table for 8 persons inviting summer and winter to rest. A complementary granite table side Blümlisalp in summer invites you to morning meal in the morning sun or for reading and lounging in the shade during the day.
3. 5 bedroom apartment upstairs
The homely 3rd 5 room apartment in the chalet-style upstairs has a living-dining room-kitchen with serving hatch / bar, two bedrooms and two shower-toilets. The spacious terrace invites you to sunbathing, grilling and outdoor dining.
Rich Küchnausstattung for culinary highlights:
The fully equipped kitchens have nothing to be desired. The convection oven with ceramic hob is on the ground floor complemented by a nostalgic wood cook stove with oven and ceramic hob. This is used for cooking, baking or keeping warm. Dishes, glasses and cutlery allows hosting of up to 12 people. The tableware Spühler facilitates the washing up.
For culinary variety Fondue Fondue pans are at ground and first floor for cheese fondue, a Elektrorechaud for Fondue Chinoise, an electrical Party Grill / Raclette oven with 8 Raclettpfännchen and a wok available.
A wooden cheese slicer makes good stored indigenous mountain cheese "cheese slicer". The bar counter is made for an aperitif or quick breakfast. The 'pickling table' maple wood is ideal for comfortable time with up to eight people.
Assorted wine glasses for white wine, red wine and champagne allow a classy dinner. A decanter for red wines and big red wine goblets complete the whole.
The parking space for four cars in front of the house.
A small play area with creek offense allowed near children's play in the summer and building igloos in the winter. A gravelled access road to the house and two adjoining chalets has no through traffic, allowing carefree breeze.
The 50m distant forest or the 500m away Öschibach invite for close to nature playing a. The 6 bikes waiting allow shorter and longer trips and tours in the UNESCO World heritage Aletsch-Bietschhorn.
Both apartments are in the winter a total of 8 carriages resp. Plasticbobs available. These are basically all the guests, but preferably by train Arrival ends available.
Dollyhay an ideal starting point for excursions:
Chalet Dollyhay is an ideal base for nature-oriented activities. Be it relaxing walks through the surrounding woods and fields past streams, rivers and waterfalls. Numerous hiking on foot or by mountain railways allow exploring the majestic mountains of the UNESCO World Heritage Aletsch-Bietschhorn.
The idyllic Oeschinensee, the pearl in Blüemlisalpmassiv is an hour's walk away. The cool fresh mountain lake border is ideal for swimming, boating or Brätlen. The refined hotel restaurant Öeschinensee they are largely spoiled with organic products from our own mountain farming.
In winter from February usually snowed-Lake is a paradise for walkers, skiers and ice fishermen.
The adjoining ski area with ski school is ideal for family holidays.
The wildly romantic Gastern Valley and the rustic Üschinental multi Alpwirtschaftsbetrieben, dairies and restaurants invite to excursions on foot, by bike or car (fees apply).
By train and on foot run one-day hikes or mountain bike tours through the Gemmi, the Lötschenpass or Hohtürli in neighboring valleys.
In bad weather, the Regional Centre Thun in a half-hour drive or train and the famous arcades of the old town of Bern in an hour can be reached. The tropical house and the swimming pool in Frutigen can be reached in a quarter of an hour and Interlaken is three-quarter hours away.
Loving and ecological restoration:
Out of concern and love for the environment, we have the old electric storage heating replaced by solar panels and advanced pellet heating systems in the renovation in 2010.
The ground floor was added and energetically renovated. Combined wall and floor heating systems give a very comfortable living environment. For interior work only high quality natural materials were used. Buchholz parquet, maple kitchen cabinets and blue-black granite. The waiver also allows allergic carpets a peaceful stay.
Supply and disposal:
Kandersteg has two hydroelectric plants that supply the village with 'green electricity'. Drinking water is of good quality sufficiently available.
In the village you will find several grocery stores, bakeries and an attractive shop with cheese and dairy products in just five minutes walk away. You can find everything for your daily needs. In just 15 minutes away Frutigen you will also find larger shops from Coop and Migros.
In the village you will find numerous restaurants, some with additional services such as billiards, sauna and pool area etc.
The sweeping view collection at the fork in the road to the village and another collection point for glass, PET, etc. behind the swimming pool allow meaningful waste separation.
Behind the house in summer is a space for composting green waste.
This was a great place for our group to stay over a long weekend. We had four families and rented both apartments. Good location - in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance to the main street in Kandersteg, as well as the gondola station. Great views. Everything provided for a nice stay in winter. There was no microwave, and some of the rooms on the bottom floor stayed chilly, but we survived. I recommend it.
Certainly, the strongest point of this beautiful chalet is its location, which can be described as the final destination in Switzerland. Just sit on the terrace and "see the world spinning round". Or hike to Oeschinensee, or ride there by bike (there are a plenty of, aside of the house). Or badminton with your kids, there are racquets. Actually, all of what we (a family of 6) were doing.
We lived in the upper comfy apartment with a big terrace (just like on the picture), and felt at home.
Rolf, the host, was available to answer questions and assistance.
Our group included 3 single people and one couple, so we wanted a chalet where we could all have our own space, the couple stayed in the upper floor and the singles each had a bedroom on the lower floor. this worked very well. The chalet was as described and matched the photos. It turned out to be ideally situated for us. We had come for summer walking and we were within easy reach of the railway station, cable cars and shops.
The chalets were both clean and had lots of equipment - spices, etc. and cooking accessories, which was really good because we flew from England so couldn't bring much with us.
We were able to have all our evening meals on the terrace which was lovely and we used the firepit.
We would definitely use the chalet again if we were coming to Kandersteg in the future.
We had a lovely meal at Reudihaus.We also recommend Waldhaus if visiting Gasterntal.
We walked along the Uschinengrat and over First to Eisligenalp - both were great walks to do.
Wir waren wiederholt in diesem Chalet. Die Ausstattung ist perfekt, vom Raclett bis zum Fonduegerät ist alles vorhanden. Es gibt 3 Doppelschlafzimmer und eine Coach im Wohnzimmer, dazu 2 Bäder, 2 Außensitzplätze mit Grill, optimale Parkmöglichkeit direkt am Haus. Alles ist sehr gut gepflegt und sauber. Hervorragender Ausgangspunkt für tolle Wanderungen und viele Freizeitaktivitäten. Unkomplizierter und großzügiger Vermieter. Wir kommen wieder.
Die FeWo ist sehr gut ausgestattet, modern, geschmackvoll und in sehr gutem Zusand, auch in Details mit allem erdenklichen Geschirr, großzügig ausgestattetem Notproviant (Kaffee, Nudeln etc.) bei einer späten Anreise mit dem Zug (iwe unserer). Sehr gut beheizt.
Gut Platz für 3E und 3 K. Sogar 2 Toiletten mit 2 Duschen und eine Badewanne, Trockner, Waschmaschine. Skilift zu Fuss (in Skistiefeln sehr gut zu erreichen), Loipe vor der Haustür. Für uns für unsere Skiwoche perfekt. Nächstes Jahr wieder!
Chalet Dollyhay located on a sunny and quiet location in the cozy mountain resort Kandersteg. The house is 10 minutes walk from the train station, 5 mins. From the village center, swimming pool, ice rink and cable car valley station to Öeschinensee. In the mountain village offering over 20 restaurants, bars, etc. the whole spectrum from simple to gourmet dinner menu.
For nature activities, sports + Game loading of 5 minutes away with a Öschibach Vitaparcours and jogging trails in summer and sledging in winter. Six bicycles, some of them mountain bikes (1 Fully) are available and invite you for short or long trips a. A rope park and a climbing bike is 5 minutes from the house.
Kandersteg is situated on the edge of the UNESCO World Heritage Aletsch. Chalet Dollyhay is an ideal starting point for short walks and gentle to very challenging mountain hikes and high gear. In winter, cross-country skiing is very attractive because in addition to trail building. Family-friendly ski slopes are accessible via cable car.
Other Activities: Rope Park, via ferrata, snowshoeing, curling.
Ski: Kandersteg has ideal slopes for families. For skiers, the ski slopes in the adjacent Lötschental is recommended to use (by subscription included).
The sleigh ride from the valley Oeschinensee is suitable for experienced sledders. In Chalet Dollyhay are 3 Plasticbobs, two wooden sleds and sled available. A short, suitable for children with night lighting bob track is 5 min. Away from the house in Oeschiwald.
Kandersteg has numerous landschafltich delightful cross-country trails at varying difficulty for classic and Sakting.
