|Minimum Stay||3 - 4 nights|
This wonderfully sunny holiday apartment is located in Kinsale's prestigious Ardbrack Heights in the village of Scilly, a ten-minute walk outside the town of Kinsale. The huge floor to ceiling, wall-to-wall windows allow amazing sea views from the master bedroom (breakfast in bed with a sea view!) and the entire sitting room/dining area. Outside, the sheltered balcony, which runs the entire width of the accommodation, is perfect for a relaxing drink whilst watching the sunset or the busy harbour activity.
The two bedrooms sleep four comfortably and the newly refurbished modern kitchen is fully fitted and ideal for a self catering holiday.
The only sounds you can hear from this property are on the water or the bird song, yet a short ten-minute stroll brings you into Kinsale centre. Kinsale is a popular holiday resort for Irish and foreign tourists which is known for its many gourmet restaurants and excellent leisure activities including yachting, sea angling, and golf.
Kinsale - sedate: Not only does this town lay claim to being the oldest town in Ireland, but it is also renowned internationally for the number and quality of restaurants in the town. It is hailed as the gourmet capital of Ireland, with no shortage of pubs and restaurants to suit every taste. However relaxed or active you wish to be on your holiday Kinsale allows you to take things at your own pace.

Kinsale History: The Battle of Kinsale, fought in 1601 between a combined Spanish, an Irish force and English armies, was a turning point in Irish history. The harbour is guarded by two very fine star-shaped fortresses built in the 17th century: Charles Fort is well worth a visit (guided tours). See also the old Courthouse, now a museum; St Multose Church, built in the 13th century and still in use, and 'French Prison', the 16th century Desmond Castle. There is a signposted tourist trail to this fascinating town with a guide booklet. Take a trip too to the Old Head of Kinsale for magnificent cliff scenery. It was off here that the Lusitania was sunk in 1915 with a loss of over 1,500 lives.
Wonderfully located above the Scilly Walk, this two bed / one bath has big views over the harbor and the town. Walkable to The Spaniard Pub and The Bulman Pub...... and to the whole of Kinsale, the location can't be beat. Waking up to gleaming water views is very enjoyable.
This was the end of our fabulous European holiday, and what a perfect way to end it. We had great communication with Minnie (at one point, we thought she was responding in the middle of the night but she was actually in Australia, answering our questions). We opened the door, and there before us to the right was the harbor and town center, and to the left the bay and the Atlantic. Gorgeous! (Or, as the Irish would say, “Lovely” or “Brilliant” or “Grand”.) The apartment was very clean; it is spacious, organized, and comfortable. It was a most welcome joy to find basic grocery staples provided for us. We did not have a car, but we could easily walk to Fort Charles, the town center for shopping, and to some very good pubs / restaurants. It is relaxing, peaceful, calming, and an amazing place to stay. We can barely wait to be back.
We are just back from a lovely stay at Ardbrack Heights, a 10 minute walk from Kinsale centre and has easy parking.
The flat was very clean, quiet, comfortable, well equipped and uncluttered.
The welcome basic groceries were much appreciated as we arrived at midnight.
The views from the living area, terrace and main bedroom are a delight.
During our stay we had to contact the owner, Minnie, a couple of times and she got back to us in a question of minutes.
We are frequent visitors to Kinsale and this accommodation has now become our favourite. We will be back!
The views were even better than the pictures convey--we've been to over a dozen countries, and we've never stayed in a lovelier location. Kinsale is my favorite place in Ireland--having lived in the country for a year--and this is a great location for enjoying the town. The Spaniard has excellent food, and it's a nice walk (down Breakheart Hill) to everything else that Kinsale has to offer. I can't imagine staying anywhere else when we return next time.
Kinsale is a beautiful town and this apartment is ideal to enjoy it all. A spacious, well equipped apartment with the most amazing views - I could have sat all day enjoying it. Well equipped with a very helpful owner and so nice to receive the welcome pack on arrival. A short walk into town, but a steep climb on the way back - great to work off all the delicious food you will eat!
We enjoyed a short break in Kinsale staying at this wonderful apartment. The view is so lovely to wake up to in the morning and it is so quiet yet only a 10 minute stroll into town to the great restaurants and bars. Bastion is superb. Looking forward to a return visit.
