Although it looks and feels like Montana surrounding our home we are actually located in one of the most desirable and convenient neighborhoods in Big Bear, just 4 blocks to the slopes and RIGHT across from the ski shuttle pick up for Snow Summit and Bear Mountain ski areas.

We are a short walk, bike ride or drive to all attractions in the Big Bear Area. We are walking distance to Starbucks, Vons Supermarket, restaurants, shops, Blockbuster, the lakeshore, miniature golf, and Meadow Park with swimming beach, tennis, sports fields, fishing pier, picnic tables and play structure. And now Zip Line tours are available nearby.

The free public MWD East Boat/Jet Ski Launch Ramp is only a mile from our door and we are just a block to Elevations Day Spa.

Take a stroll to the lakeshore through our upscale (and not hilly) neighborhood dotted with beautiful old-growth pines and stately home.

Take a short bike ride from our door to the tree-lined 3 mile paved 'Alpine Pedal Path' along the north shore of beautiful Big Bear Lake. Stop and enjoy the informative Big Bear Discovery Center and the numerous trails for all levels of hiking. No bike? Rental shop is only 2 blocks away.

For mountain biking Big Bear is hard to beat. We are central to a network of trails for riding of all levels. And don't miss riding down a choice of great trails from the top of Snow Summit Sky Chair, rising 1100' above the valley floor.

Big Bear Lake itself is great for fishing, water skiing, jet skiing & sailing. If you bring your own boat we are 1 mile to the free public East Launch Ramp on the north shore with a day use picnic area and beach. We are 1.5 miles to Big Bear and Pine Knot Marinas which also have launch ramps as well as boat and jet ski rentals.

We are 3 minutes to quaint Big Bear Village with a variety of shopping from antique stores to unique clothing & souvenir shops, restaurants, arcade, 2 multi-screen movie theaters, bowling, candy & ice cream parlors, etc.

We are 5 minutes to must-see Moonridge Zoo with bear, buffalo, eagle, coyote, birds of prey, deer, reptiles, mountain lion, etc. Call them for decent tours and feeding schedules.

Unlike many rental homes in Big Bear, our flat lot and flat neighborhood makes access very easy during icy or snowy conditions. No struggling to make it up or down steep streets, driveways and walkways during winter months.

With the unusual combination of the numerous amenities mentioned above along with the pool table, ping pong table separate lounge area roomy spa all in such a fantastic location, EAGLE POINT ESCAPE is year- round favorite vacation spot for families, couples and groups.

About Gary A

Gary is a building contractor and Mara is an early childhood educator. Along with our two grown sons we have a great love of the outdoors and of the Big Bear area. We feel very fortunate to have such a beautiful home to share with our guests and enjoy working together to enhance it all the time. We are always on the lookout for that new fixture or decoration that will be just right...finding it is our idea of a perfect day.

Gary A purchased this house in 2005

Why Gary A chose Big Bear Lake

We owned another home right across the street and observed this home taking shape during construction in 2005. We realized it was an exceptional design with great features and finishes. We sold the other home and bought this one brand new.

What makes this house unique

Eagle Point Escape offers everything a family could hope for in a vacation home. Four bedrooms including two master suites, gameroom with 3 game tables TV and leather sofa, 7 person spa on a large deck surrounding the home, very ample 'great room' with HDTV, Netflix and oversized sofa to seat just about everyone, large gourmet kitchen with island seating and countertops and a location that is arguably the best in Big Bear.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I took a group of my recent high school graduates for a leadership retreat. The house had plenty of room for everyone to be in their space and place without crowding each other. The home decor was cozy and functional. This house has everything and I mean everything. We needed tape to post a sign, looked in the drawer and walla -- TAPE. The master bedroom was gorgeous. The kitchen was very spacious, which allowed to teach students how to cook. Plenty of places to relax inside and outside. Whether you want to read a book, watch a movie, relax in the jacuzzi, play air hockey, table tennis, or a game of billards, this house has something for EVERYONE. The location was perfect - walking distance to stores. Less than 5 minutes to the village. About 10 minutes from the lake for kayaking and more. We are already planning to schedule to visit in the winter. LOVED LOVED LOVED this house. It was awesome. Also, the owner was really nice and great to work with. They provide great instructions down to the finest detail for everything. Great house for families, romantic getaway, whatever...great property at a great price. You will not be disappointed.

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

The Abrams vacation home is just beautiful! It doesn't even feel like a rental! It has everything right at your fingertips. From the moment you walk in the cabin the decor and space is so heart warming and cozy! There's nothing that we could say as a family that we would change! It's in a perfect location with plenty of room for everyone. We spent our Thanksgiving holiday here and the kitchen was stocked with every cooking essential you would possibly need. The stores were really close, there's a Vons and Stater Bros very near. Also all Big bear activities were close as well! The village was 4 min away. Gary was very Intentive, he was very helpful throughout the booking process and he makes you feel comfortable through out your stay, directions are available for everything in the house to help you as well! You will not be disappointed if you were to book here. It's exactly what you would picture your Big Bear memories to be! From the large comfy couch by the fireplace, to the cool game room and the relaxing jacuzzi! We had a wonderful Holiday vacation. Thank you Abrams family for welcoming and trusting us with your beautiful cabin! We will definitely be returning renters! - The Romero Family

Best place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

We are a group of 18-23 women who have been coming to Big Bear for a Girl's Getaway for more than 20 years. The past 10 years Eagle Point Escape has always been one of the two or three homes we have rented, and it is always the best by far. We wouldn't want to stay anywhere else, and believe me, we have seen a lot of different properties over the years. The house is so clean and well, maintained, constantly updated and is the most well stocked of any rental ever. As a specific example, we also rented 2 other properties which provided a minimum of 1 roll of paper towels and a couple of rolls of toilet paper and no kleenex or tissues. Gary's house has all three. I know it seems trivial, but it just is an example of the care at Eagle Point Escape. We also have always been able to find anything we need in the kitchen. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

Beautiful place to stay!!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at this slice of paradise. Great location - easy to get to all areas! We did a little bit of everything - 1 1/2 hour boat tour on the Big Bear Queen - great history of the area. Also enjoyed Octoberfest and walking around village area. Our grandchildren(ages 9 & 11) had a great time on the Alpine Slide. The house has lots of books, dvds and games and great outdoor space. Of course the Game room was a hit with all ages of our group (9 through 70!!). There is plenty of room to have family time and yet private space for everyone. The best word I can think of to describe Eagle Point is comfortable!! All the basics are there so it is easy to quickly settle in for a relaxing visit. Can't wait to enjoy again!

Beautiful Home

  • 5 of 5

I've been renting homes in Big Bear every summer for many years for our family vacations and this house is one of the nicest, most immaculate homes I've rented. The house is plenty spacious, yet still feels warm and cozy. There is plenty to keep everyone entertained. The game room in the garage is great and the owners have also provided lots of books, games, and dvds for all tastes. In my experience many rental houses in Big Bear have some bug, insect, or ant issues, which is almost unavoidable. I've come to expect it each year. But we didn't see a single bug, either inside or outside this home the entire five days we were there! Everything in the house is very clean and well maintained. The well equipped kitchen has everything you could possibly need and there's plenty of comfy pillows, blankets, etc for everyone. The hot tub was easy to operate and very relaxing. You can relax in it while watching the sunset and enjoy the peaceful setting. The location, in my opinion, is perfect. Super close to the village, the marinas, and walking distance to the groceries, Starbucks, and Kmart. The neighborhood is very walking, running, or biking friendly. The owner was very responsive, attentive, and easy to work with.

Fabulous big bear retreat

  • 5 of 5

The Eagle Point Escape was a perfect home for a family vacation. We enjoyed our time in Big Bear and the house fabulous. There was plenty of room for everyone and something for everyone to do. The kitchen was fully stocked with supplies for all our cooking. The open floor plan made for lots of together time. The location was great. Close walks to the lake, playing pool, ping pong, and relaxing in the jacuzzi. Super close to lake activities and the Village too. Highly recommend.

Perfect Get Away Cabin

  • 5 of 5

We just got back from a great weekend. If your looking for a big, cozy home this is the house for you. We where a family of 12. This home was perfect for all of us. Home accommodates all ages from adults to teens. We also walked to ski resort. That's how close you are to town. Great space outside to play in the snow. Kids really enjoyed it as we where able to run around outside and have snowball fights. This home dose not feel like a rental property. You totally feel like you are at home. Beds are comfy, fully stocked kitchen for those who are cooking a large meal or as we did it is great for outdoor barbecue. Decoration in the house are so cute and nicely furnished. The hubby and I are already in the talks with Gary about coming back. Kids don't want to stay anywhere else. Thank you very much Gary
