Chatterbox is located in the heart of Dunmore Town. Built in the late 1800's by the island's first contractor, it was fully renovated in 2012, making it a historic house with modern amenities. It is a three bedroom (two bedrooms with queen size beds, one bedroom with two double beds), two bath home with wood floors, comfortable furniture, a cook's kitchen and lots of charm. A second floor patio and widow's walk offer stunning sunset views. A covered terrace on the first floor for entertaining or just relaxing as well as a porch swing on the front patio to enjoy the island breeze.
Literally steps away from the grocery store, bakery and deli, nothing is out of reach. The pink sand beach is a short walk away and golf carts are available for hire for exploring the island. Bone fishing, deep sea fishing, SCUBA diving and snorkeling are all easily accessible services! The services of a housekeeper are included every day except Sundays and holidays.
Wi-fi, cable tv, whole home stereo system, a safe, security cameras and free long distance.

This is our third stay at chatterbox..the best!
We’ve been coming to Harbour Island for many years and chatterbox is a favorite. Housekeeper Neka (and Clint) took great care of 6 of us and owner Trish couldn’t be nicer to work with.
Great cottage in the heart of the action
Perfect proximity for all your shopping needs. Beautifully furnished with the bonus of an incredible full house sound system.
Nicely decorated and designed cottage
Sweet house with great design. Could use a deep clean and some new towels. Suggest you update that the house has a beach chairs, microwave and small coffee maker not a Nespresso machine. Loved the monogrammed towels and cups!
lovely, convenient location, well appointed
cant wait to go back! best briland rental i have had, thanku trish
It was lovely in every way ! The decor! The kitchen! Comfortable! Cozy! So many spaces to hang out!
The bedrooms were all adorable with their own character. The property was well maintained and the house is perfectly located on the island. I can’t say enough great things!
A great week at the Chatterbox!
I can't say enough about how wonderful our stay at the Chatterbox was. We stayed a week with close friends at the Chatterbox and from day one, Trish was available within minutes to answer any questions we had.
The house was equipped with the essentials needed for cooking. The grill, beach towels, chairs and yeti cooler were well used throughout our stay. Having access to multiple living and outdoor areas was a huge benefit to this house, allowing people to spread out and have some alone time when needed.
The location may be busy for some, as we learned the Pigly Wigly is THE place to be during the day. We took advantage of this and enjoyed our downtime rocking on the front porch watching the daily happenings of the town go by with a cocktail in hand. It just dawned on me that this may be why its called the Chatterbox! By dinner time it was much quieter, and sleeping with the windows open was never a noise issue aside from the occasional golf cart zooming by.
The location of Chatterbox is an easy 10 minute walk or very quick golf cart ride to the beach. The grocery store, delis, bakeries, restaurants and shops are all a short stroll away.
The beds in the rooms were on the firmer side and some of the most comfortable mattresses I have slept on in a hotel/rental. The linens and toiletries offered were high quality as well.
Neka the housekeeper was so kind and made sure all of our needs were met while we were there. This included her running over to check the propane for the grill when we thought it was running low. We weren't aware of how salty the town water was so we were fairly dependent on getting large 5 gallon jugs for drinking/cooking. They can be found behind arthurs deli at the "water guy" hut for 6 bucks. Much easier than buying single gallons.
The only improvements I can think of for this home are a few more cooking utensils, having access to the laundry (it is locked), and a better functioning AC in the downstairs bedroom (Trish was working on the repair while we were there). The wifi can also be a little spotty throughout the house if you plan on doing work upstairs or in the backyard.
Overall, we had such a great time at the Chatterbox and our first time on the island. To help all those visiting, Dunmore deli for a cheap delicious lunch, Arthurs for breakfast sandwiches, Romora bay for happy hour, and a daily hello to our favorite town dog "Mama." She hangs out in front of the dilly dally and is the sweetest
