Beautiful, simplistic, a great place for family and friends

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at the Namu Lodge! It’s beautifully designed, well laid out, and the fireplaces were made to warm the entire great room. Stunning views of one of my favorite parts of Washington State. Thanks for letting us stay!

Bed bugs, loss of hot water for a day, owner has cameras in house, will try to take your deposit!

  • 1 of 5

This was the worst vacation rental experience due to several issues-

-Four people sleeping in the bunk room experienced 50+ bites from bed bugs. Out of concern for future guests, I notified the homeowner immediately. I followed up several times with pictures and even a doctor's note to ensure future tenants would not be affected. The owner did not respond for four days after our stay, until I escalated it to VRBO. The owner, Evan, said the rashes were self-inflicted and that he thought the doctor's note was fake.

-We did not have hot water for an entire day during our stay. We contacted the Property Manager and she let us know the house has a tendency for the hot water to stop working, which would have been nice to know prior to our stay. She requested we check the propane level and told us where the breaker was that needed to be switched to re-activate the hot water.

-The house is constructed in a way that the sound reverberates. We were playing music on Friday night and the neighbor (who is very close to the house) called the Police and requested we turn it down. The Police asked to turn it down, and we did. The owner later lied and said the Police called them after we left and charged us a fine. I called the Police Station and spoke with the officer that came to the house. They laughed and said they wouldn't fine us and confirmed (with documentation) that the owner was not telling the truth.

-When I tried to resolve the issues with the owner, he called me and we spoke for 45 minutes. He tried to tell me the property is not a hotel and it is not his fault the house did not have hot water or that people were affected by bed bugs. He did apologize for the hot tub and explained the dirty hot tub was caused by the irrigation system. He also mentioned there were cameras in the house, which we were not notified of. He advised there were a few pieces of confetti left on the floor, which I told him the cleaning fee should have taken care of. At the end of the call, he said he would refund our security deposit and he offered a refund, which he would discuss the final amount with this wife. Three days after our call, he sent a receipt saying he is not providing any reimbursement and is charging us our security deposit + for garbage (which was put neatly in garbage bins in the garage), the false noise complaint ticket, cost of cleaning for bed bugs, and because of a few pieces of confetti. He is also refusing to return a gold necklace that was left.

We loved our stay at NaMu! It was a perfect house for multiple families with kids ... and a dog.

  • 5 of 5

The views were spectacular and the house was really well maintained - most comfortable beds ever!! We loved the swings on the porch, the hot tub, the bunk bed room, and the open kitchen / living room. It was our pleasure to stay for the week and we hope to be back soon.

Beautiful Lodge close to Leavenworth

  • 5 of 5

This is such a beautiful space and perfect for large gatherings or small groups. We were a party of 20 for 2 nights and had a wonderful time.

Although the place is well stocked I would recommend bringing more pots/pans if you plan on cooking for a large group. We also brought our own comfortable reclining chairs for the patio and lawn for star gazing. We fought over the hanging swing chairs on the patio...they were a big hit!

The homeowner was very responsive and a good communicator. We would stay there again. Thanks Evan!

Excellent spot for a large group

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at NaMu Lodge during an intense heat wave for a staff retreat. The space was beautiful and ideal for a large group like ours. We utilized every room, including a separate bunk room not attached to the home. It didn't feel too cramped and the entire space held up in the 100 degree temperatures. Jessie and Evan were super helpful and communicative during a few hiccups (the air conditioner leaked and the power went out for just a few minutes). They were quick to respond and these small issues didn't impact our stay. And if none of this sells the NaMu Lodge, then just look at the view from the kitchen, balcony or master bathroom... :)

Nice stay overall

  • 4 of 5

We had a big family reunion here with 18 people and had a great time. The house and the setting are beautiful, and the great room was a wonderful space to gather. There was plenty of room for the whole group to share a meal around the big table and not feel crowded. However, there are some things that were overlooked that would have made it more hospitable - for example, there was no bath soap in the showers, no dish sponge, and some rooms did not have a bedside lamp. Also, if you are considering using the detached unit, be aware that there are no shades on the windows and no cooling unit, so you'll be hot and will wake up at the crack of dawn. In summary, the place is big on style, missing a few details, but overall a nice place to stay and accommodates a large group.
