Can be rented as a 2 bedroom, 1 bedroom, or studio.
Unit located right across the street from Kamaole Beach II. Kamaole Beach II is one of the best beach in Maui with beautiful sunsets, snorkeling, swimming, sun bathing, boogie boarding and tide pools. Great for kids.
The refrigerator was recently replaced, and the main bathroom redone. Also, the sleeper sofa was also recently upgraded, as were the mattresses for the beds. The second bed room has a queen and double bed.
From the Maui Banyan, it is a short walk to restaurants, cafes, and shopping. Wailea and Mekena are just a short drive to the south. Kihei is centrally located on Maui.
The units have a view of the ocean from the lanais ( balcony, total of two lanais). This is a safe and friendly complex with covered parking garage. The complex was designed by a Feng Shui master and as such has an open floor plan, beautiful grounds, and comfortable. One of the nicest complex in Kihei. The acrylic paintings were done by the owner.
The units at Maui Banyan have a very comfortable open floor plan. Also, 'the Banyan' has a fantastic location - right across from Kam II, a nice walk to shops and resturants, and close to Big Beach - one of our favorites. Finally, the complex is one of the nicest in Kihei - private, well maintained, great design, nice gardens, etc. In a word - perfect.
Very close to the beach, very safe complex, quiet, clean, great architecture. I like the clear balcony railing. Has a great entrance, great parking, great pool area with bar-b-que areas. Love relaxing here!
I hope you find that our place is one of your possible vacation / relaxation destination. We wjnoy staying at our condo in Maui, across the street from a great family beach. A perfect comfortable place to kick around without missing our standard dayly necessities. A great health food store, a Hawaiian Shaves ice stand, a surf shops and many restaurants and cafes within walking distance are definetely a plus. Stoll along the beach in the morning or at night. Watch sunset or just simply relaxing is a part of routine. Maybe you'll want to visit us one day ....
The Maui Banyan is a lovely friendly complex. Our stay was disturbed by a washer that was broken before we got there that we weren't notified of. Time we could have been in the sun was spent washing towels and clothes in the sink and haggling with the rental manager over fixing the washer and getting clean towels. We loved the beach and the pool but the washer being out caused loss of valuable relax time. We should have been notified so we could pack accordingly to avoid hand washing and having to purchase clothes and towels while there.
It is what it is for the money. The room was exactly as the pictures show. The set up was great for us with 7 people. The location was nice, right across the street from the beach and walking distance to local shops and food. Easy driving to other thing around. The office people at Maui Banyan were great everytime we needed help or direction. We had a late check in, so when we got to the room all the keys were there and a welcome packet. The welcome packet didn't explain what all the keys were used for, the pool code was wrong, took 30 min to get it straightened out. We came back after 10pm and didn't know we needed the card to get in as they lock the doors, lucky someone helped us. The room was packed with everything you need for the beach, chairs, kids sand toys, and even a umbrella. The kitchen was stocked with all the necessities. Plenty of towels including beach towels. The bed pillows were all fate well used. We had to purchase some at Walmart to be comfortable. Their are 2 window ac in the unit, one in the room with 2 queen beds, and one in the living room. Neither one cooled the place even when left on all day. The one in the bedroom is blocked by the dresser, we slept with no covers just to be comfortable, the single bed room had no AC and stayed hot. It was good for the money.
I cannot add anything better than the other good ratings for this unit and the owners. We were late in deciding to go to Maui and apprehensive on obtaining a reasonably priced unit for our group of seven (5 adults & 2 teens). The location was perfect, the sleeping arrangements great for our group, the unit was nicely furnished and CLEAN, and the rent very reasonable. Thanks much to the owners for their contribution to our wonderful Maui experience.
Hosts were easy to work/coordinate with for family of 5.
Separate room allowed grandma quiet sleeping quarters while providing her a place to rest/read when she pleased. Large living room provided central family area and easy staging of voyage planning (whether to pool or Hana).
Washer/Dryer super helpful.
Unexpected: Beach toys, beach chairs and umbrellas of excellent quality. (Tommy Bahama) . These were life savers and were brought with to various locations.
Grills at pool assisted in daily cooking for family (excellent local fish at Kihei stores).
Thanks you all for helping make great expectations come true.
Things couldn't get working:
VCR/DVD player (probably user issues;)
This unit met and exceeded our expectations. It was a short walk to a number of beaches. I wouldn't hesitate to book this condo again. Thanks for the hospitality. The pictures don't do the unit justice!!
This was our 3rd year in a row staying in Kihei and our 1st time staying at the Maui Banyan. The location was great, right across the street from Kamaole II, and a very short walk to the beach and shops. The Banyan is in a good location for easy access to the highway during trips around the island.
The unit was good size (2 bedrooms) for our family of 4 and our daughters loved having their own beds in the 2nd bedroom. The main area was roomy enough for all of us.
The unit is in need of updating and some touch-up repairs to some of the walls/doors. The kitchen amenities were adequate but not great. No plastic plates in the unit and very strict rules about No Glass on the pool deck (enforced by a friendly, but diligent security guard)...this made dinner at the pool a challenge.
Appliances were in good shape, including the washer/dryer, dishwasher, fridge and stove. Air conditioner units in the main room and the 2nd bedroom were good, kept the condo quite cool when needed. Ceiling fan in the master bedroom was a nice feature to help keep cool at night.
2nd bedroom has a decent mini fridge that allowed us to store some additional items during the trip. Having a 2nd bathroom with shower also kept the bathroom wait time shorter when needed.
It would have been good to have some cleaning products and garbage bags provided in the unit as a 2 week stay will need some cleaning part way through.
Parking was first-come, first-serve, and the spots closest to the unit fill up first. We were able to get one of these spots about 60% of the time. The remainder we had a bit further walk to the parkade.
Pool and pool deck area were nice, kids played in the pool every day. Lots of patio chairs available, and good BBQ's available for everyone. Mid-afternoon the pool area would fill up with guests.
There was a boogie board in the unit, although broken, so we had to purchase our own, unlike previous condos we've stayed in. The beach chairs were mediocre. Some child plastic beach toys and a cooler also provided.
Patio was very nice, it runs the entire length of the unit and provides great views of Haleakala, and a partial view of the West Maui mountains and the ocean.
The owner was easy to deal with and was quick to answer any questions before we left. Key pickup and return was very straightforward.
Overall, the unit was average, but met our needs and we had a great vacation.
