This year, the City Hall is organising a New Year's Eve event at the Font Màgica in Montjuïc (tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g187497-d5…). There will be fireworks, like in La Mercè in September (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBg5FphlZUM) -albeit I suspect it'll be a much less flamboyant event- while a tour of the TV celebrations around the world is being broadcasted (sic!) -I assume there'll be a big screen somewhere (?). Note though it'll be a 'brief' celebration as it's expected to end a little after the chimes of the New Year.

Anyway, Barcelona City Hall has been looking for a way to revamp NYE these past years to emulate other big cities such as London or NY and have this iconic date as a must-do for tourism.

Why mar chose Sants-Montjuïc

I have been travelling to Barcelona for work or on holiday for many years, it was my dream to have a place of my own and this part of the city, on the gentle slopes of Monjuic (the mountain with her lovely walks and pure cleaner air), with so many artisans, small shops, genuine tapas bars, the local folklore which hasn't faded, a magic atmosphere that has attracted me as well as many people of all nationalities and age. The old St. Anthony Market is an architectural jewel within easy reach on foot, as are the many wineries, horchata and ice cream shops, nice bars, its many libraries, and the neighborhood lies just 10-15 minutes on foot, only 3 min by underground to the Ramblas.

What makes this apartment unique

Your (and my) home in Barcelona is a wonderful quiet recently refurbished and fully equipped apartment, i fell in love with its balconies: one in the bedroom and one in the living room which provide so much light and fresh air, its spacious living/dining room, the wonderful kitchen with lots of cupboards and the nice bathroom with shower and tub to relax after a full sightseeing day. It is a very comfortable quiet and nice apartment, carefully furnished with top quality furnishings, very comfortable new fittings, high speed WI FI, all amenities and comforts.

Very nice neighbors too that do not party and also request you to respect their time of sleep and rest being specially quiet when returning home at night. This is a must and we hope you understand and comply with these house regulations. Please climb the stairs in silence if returning home after 11 p.m. thank you.

I love this apartment and so do all the guests who have lived in it and felt quite at home, becoming a Barcelonin or Barcelonina for a few days in this studio, merging in the local life and enjoying also the fact that it is not a 'touristy' place but very near within walking distance of everything you wish to enjoy. Welcome! Please arrive no later than 9.00 p.m. at the apartment, otherwise pay for LATE CHECK-IN AFTER 9.00p.m. at the apartment, please pay €50.00 upon arrival.

Comfortable and centrally located

A clean, very well-equipped and comfortable apartment, the air conditioning was very useful. Communication with both Mar and Silvia was very good, they always replied promptly to emails and texts. The underground car park was just across the street and felt very secure.

Easy to drive to the apartment and convenient for the Poble Sec metro station and the Bodega 1900 tapas restaurant.

As you would expect from a city location, there was a little noise from the street below during the day and early evening but quiet enough at night. We didn't hear any sounds from the adjoining apartments.

We would definitely recommend the apartment.

nice and and easy

it was very easy to park the car, the person who do the reception was very kind and helpful the whole stay. Air conditioners were working well when 30 to 32°C outside.

Flat is convenient and nice, a lot of things available.

Clean, Comfortable Apartment

Clean apartment in nice quiet area of the city; great bed; all conveniences; good value. Mar and Silvia were extremely helpful and welcoming. Only caveat is the apartment is on the 3rd floor with no elevator -- a difficult climb with suitcases -- but good exercise!

Muy comodo y recomendable!

Estuvimos con mi marido 4 noches. El apartamento es muy lindo y tal cual la descripción. Es muy cómodo, amplio, limpio, la cama muy confortable y tiene todo lo necesario como para sentirte en tu casa. Esta muy bien ubicado, el barrio es muy seguro, cerca de Montjuic y con la estación de Metro de Poble Sec a 3 cuadras. Recomiendo ir caminando a Montjuic y recorrer bien sus parques y jardines que son increíbles.

Muchas gracias Mar, Silvia y Maximo por hacer de nuestra estadía una experiencia muy linda y por todas las facilidades brindadas.

Barcelona nos encanta y seguro volveremos a hospedarnos aquí. Realmente el apartamento es muy recomendable!

Very comfortable, clean, well located to easy transit, the fountains, and Montjuic hill. Apartment was equipped with everything we needed, all cooking supplies, washing machine and indoor drying rack and balcony drying lines, very comfortable beds. The lovely, lively Silvia was very helpful with transit and sightseeing tips...thank you! Margherita's communications made sure all was ready for our visit. Recommended!

Good location, worth staying there

Very good location - we had a good stay in a very nice, clean and quiet appartement. It ist good located, very central in walking distance to many sights. We enjyed the water fountains at night not far away. We walked in dark hours in the area and always felt save (two women). The appartement is quiet at nights for a good rest after the day out. Cafes and shops are near by open most of the time. We can definately recommend the place.
