Self-catering cottage for 2-6 people or half board

How about a holiday in a 200 year old property in the southwest of the 'Green Island'? Self-catering holiday or half board in a comfortable 2-6 persons apartment at the fish-rich Lough Allua in untouched nature. Tirna Spideoga-the land of the robins, located between the villages Inchigeelagh and Ballingeary, in one of the few Irish-cultural enclaves of the island. The cottage is nestled in a huge natural park. Its location offers itself as a starting point for interesting tours, is located very close to the Gougane Barra National Park. A trip are the port town of Bantry, the flower island 'Garinish Iceland' worth and Glengariff. This village is the starting point for a tour on the Beara Peninsula on the Healy Pass. Time, one should also take the most famous route, the Ring of Kerry.

The thatched cottage is located above the lake, the Lough Allua, between the villages Inchigeelagh and Ballingeary. This is a perfect base to explore the southwest of the 'Green Island'. The Gougane Barra National Park is 11km away, while the coastal road Ring of Kerry, Dingle, the Beara Peninsula, the Mizen Head and Ships all in max. 1hr. be reached. On the nearby Lough Allua we rent rowboats on request with motor and canoes, with which one can also paddle down the River Lee. We also organize deep sea fishing trips, whale & dolphin boat trips, rent bikes, offer horse rides and riding lessons on our own horses with a riding area just behind the property. In our small. Angel Shop you can borrow or buy fishing equipment, also is a smoke house and gutting space available. Guided tours for all types of fishing can be organized, licenses are not usually necessary.

  • Our cottage is over 200 years old and designed for 4 persons. It is equipped for self catering, has 2 bedrooms u. A shower / WC, satellite TV, kitchen and living area, and an outdoor patio with BBQ. You can have a cook on request. Breakfast (€ 6, -) u. Meals (€ 9, - to € 12, - / 3Gaenge Menu) can be ordered locally. Our large heated winter garden is all accessible to guests and serves as a restaurant but also a meeting place in the evening .The hot water is supplied by a solar system and is therefore mostly for free .Zudem the apartment has gas central heating, the consumption is determined by a Gaszaehler .The price per sq.m. Gas is currently in Ireland for € 3.50 .Also the stove / oven laueft about this Gaszaehler, and should at persistently bad weather does not produce enough hot water, the solar system, so the central heating assumes Warmwassrversorgung .The typical gas consumption is betw. € 1, -to € 5, - / day.

vader/zoon vis trip

Samen met mijn zoon (13) zijn we 5 dagen te gast geweest bij Greg en zijn vrouw Sigi, Naast de fantastische vismogelijkheden zijn het ook enorm gastvrije en vriendelijke mensen. Greg is een Visgids met een hoofdletter V en zijn vrouw Kookt met een grote K. Na een dag zeevissen heeft zij onze vangst op een heerlijke wijze klaargemaakt. Ons eerste bezoek aan Ierland zal zeker een vervolg krijgen. Ook als u geen visser bent is de karakteristieke locatie prima in orde om op diverse manieren de omgeving te verkennen.

Irland von seiner schönsten Seite!

Es waren wirklich schöne Tage bei Greg und Siggi: Sowohl das Essen (3 Gänge Menü), dass sehr sehr lecker, abwechslungsreich, mit Liebe gekocht und in einem guten Preis-Leistungsverhältnis war, als auch das Angeln auf dem See mit Greg, werden uns in guter Erinnerung bleiben. Wir haben uns in den urigen Cottages sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen bestimmt in ein paar Jahren noch einmal wieder! Dann sind die Hechte, die wir gefangen haben bestimmt über 1 Meter lang!

Visweekend op LOUGH ALLUA , TIR NA SPIDEOGA

Een paar dagen gevist met Timo en Marc op Lough Allua, Prachtige natuur en een visrijk water, ook in het najaar! Ons verblijf in TIR NA SPIDEOGA bij Greg en Sigi was zeer goed en erg gastvrij, Alles is hier aanwezig voor een geslaagde (vis)vakantie, Boten, aasvissen,hengelmateriaal, enz..Het eten was fantastish, de whiskey ook! Wij gaan zeker weer terug naar deze mooie plek in Ierland.

Sommerurlaub in Tir na Spideoga

Wir ( 2 junge Erwachsene ) waren 1 Woche bei Sigi & Greg Gäste. Die Cottages sind in einer sehr schönen Lage und Umgebung. Auch wenn sie klein sind, ist alles was man braucht vorhanden und sie sind sehr gemütlich. Die beiden Gastgeber waren stets freundlich und hilfsbereit und konnten immer gute Reisevorschläge geben.

Das Abendessen dort war jeden Tag ein neues Highlight.

Die Umgebung eignet sich dort sehr gut zum Wandern, Radfahren und Angeln. Wenn man dazu noch mobil ist, bietet die Region einem wunderschöne Ausblicke Irlands. Zum krönenden Abschluss, waren wir noch mit zum Hochseeangeln, was sehr aufregend war.

Alles in allem können wir das Domizil nur empfehlen und kommen bestimmt wieder. :-)
