About Heather Kehoe
This is a family-run business. Thea Rumford and daughter, Heather Kehoe, manage this beautiful mountain home. The photo is of Heather and Thea on the deck of the Chalet in the summertime. Fred and Thea Rumford have owned this charming mountain home since 1966 when it was built as a weekend getaway for their family. Skiing is a large part of their lives. They have raised their children to grow up with a tremendous appreciation for the alpine lifestyle. They take great joy in now seeing their grandchildren follow in the ski tracks of their parents. Thea says, 'The character of Chalet du Soleil is incomparable and is sure to please.' The Rumfords also take pride in upgrading and maintaining their beautiful home each year.

Why Heather Kehoe chose Vail Ski Resort
It's the little things that the owners/manager do to make this place special.
What makes this House unique

Great House for a Vail Vacation
This was our fourth year staying at Chalet du Soleil and it was another wonderful summer vacation in Vail. We keep coming back because it is the perfect house for our family of 10 and you couldn't ask for a better location. It is comfortable, in a beautiful, peaceful setting, and has everything that we need. We feel like it is our home away from home. We love working with Heather and her mom and it was great to see them again. We hope to return next year.
Great place to spend a week in Vail
Excellent location, very nice deck, manager super attentive. Thanks! ut was great
Summer stay in Vail
This everything we expected, family certainly enjoyed our stay.
The house was sufficient to Lionshead village and gondol
Was walking distance to Lionshead
If you're skiing with kids stay here
For those new to Vail we did not realize that it's a very long walk from the parking lots and drop off zones to the lifts -- much too far for my kids (9&11) to be able to carry their own equipment. In contrast, this house is nearly ski in/out. That even allowed our kids to come home whenever they wanted. The house has bed space for 10 and that doesn't include couches which were helpful for when our two families' kids needed some separation or extra time with parents. House is clean and nice, not fancy but has all the basics you'd want for cooking, making coffee, washing clothes (Tide included), games, TVs, sleds, etc. Lionshead is a 3 minute drive or 12 minute walk. After a day of skiing our kids were so tired we ate at home far more than we expected; easy to do. Recommended.
Homey and oh so convenient
We had a wonderful experience at the property. Although not ski in ski out it is not too far off. There is about 100 yard walk from the condo to the slope, which at that point you can put on your skis and run the last 200 yards to the gondola. The property itself is what I am personally looking for. It is solidly appointed and clean - but it is lived in. You are not afraid sprawl on the couch or make a mess in the kitchen. (Just be sure to clean it up before you leave. Lol). We had 9 50ish year old guys there and it worked well for us. There was plenty of towels, toilet paper, paper towel, laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, cooking spray, spices etc. all the little things that are a pain when you don't have them- they were provided. If you are looking for the Ritz this isn't your place. But if you are looking for a solidly appointed, highly hospitable, homey place to rest your head-100 yards from being ski in ski out at one of the best ski resorts in the world. This is it.
Thanks, Allen. We’re glad you could relax and enjoy all that the Chalet has to offer! We would welcome you back anytime.
Across Gore Creek from the gondola.
