The apartment is located in the highest Swiss ski resort in the ski arena Portes du Soleil on 1670m. It is located in a chalet with 8 apartments. Our apartment has a terrace with direct view of the Dents du Midi massif. The furnishing is lovingly and individually designed and tailored to suit 4 persons. Kitchenette (Season 2013: New fitted kitchen) and living room blend harmoniously with each other with the fireplace as a focal point. On the large round dining table you can prepare yourself for the adventurous skiing day with a leisurely breakfast in the sunny morning. Coffee maker, stove, oven, dishwasher, toaster and kettle, as well as a Rechaud for the traditional cheese fondue are available. In the bedroom there are two single beds and a bunk bed. These are suitable for people with allergies. A car parking space and a heated, lockable ski storage room are available. No pets! We have deliberately avoided a TV in favour of an intensive relaxation.

Locality and surroundings: The place has still largely preserved its charm as a mountain village, which originally consisted of several pastures.

There are several restaurants in the locality. Daily needs can be purchased locally.

However extended après-ski is something that one searches in vain here.

The variety of restaurants and shops is continuously being increased!

The nearest town is Monthey, located in the Rhone Valley and is about 30 km from Lake Geneva.

Sightseeing / culture: Les Crosets is well suited as a starting point for day trips especially outside of the ski season.

Lake Geneva naturally lets you explore with Geneva, Lausanne and Montreux.

Sion is also a worthwhile destination. Those interested in culture will not miss out the famous museum Fondation Pierre Gianadda and many other cultural activities during their visit to Martigny.

If you want to go high up, you can also pay a visit to the mighty Mont Blanc and Chamonix over the St. Bernard Pass.

Sports and recreation: In the nearby hamlet of Val d' Illiez there is a newly expanded and renovated thermal spa.

In the summer this is an excellent starting point for beautiful hikes.

Mountain bikers also come at their own cost, thanks to a large signposted road network.

Even some chairlifts are in operation during the summer season for the downhill freaks!

About Dieter Koehrer

The apartment was bought in 1982 by the families Steinweller and Kuhnke. Meanwhile, Dieter Köhrer (son-in-law of the family) takes care of the rental. We live in the Karlsruhe area and rent the place exclusively for private purposes, in addition to personal use.

For three generations the apartment has become an epitome of skiing in a great ski area and with unlimited possibilities! The apartment is located in the ski resort Les Crosets, so you won’t need a car during the entire holiday. Shops, restaurants, and of course, the slopes are within walking distance and only a very short distance away!

Our apartment can be reached in 4.5 hours from Karlsruhe. The journey from the highway to the apartment (of almost 1700m altitude) takes about 20 minutes.

What makes this apartment unique

Before and after the day of skiing or hiking and excursion tours in summer or extensive mountain biking tours the view of the Dents du Midi massif is simply indescribable!

In summer, the terrace is ideal for sunbathing by the tolling sound of cowbells.

Great value for money. Highly recommended.

We have stopped in France for the last 6 years - what a great change to have enough space to swing the kids! If you are looking for a quite resort with self catering, this resort and accommodation is ideal. Apartment is fully equipped and after a trip to the supermarket in Monthey all we had to do was get bread and pastries from the local shop. 3 excellent lifts get you up the mountains and away - little in the way of queues even in half term Night skiing is a bonus and good fun. Dieter provided everything we needed ahead of arriving. We will use this property when we next holiday in the Portes du Soleil. Enjoy.

Great little place

Really nice flat. Walk straight outside through the patio doors to garden and stunning views.

Excellent new kitchen and calm new sitting area all part of a rolling programme of improvement and up grading. So the shower room and much of the decor are a bit dated style wise but in perfect order and spotlessly clean.

Comfy twin beds and clever curtain divider across room means you can get the kids down in the bunks and return to bed later without disturbing them but you are all in the same room.

Down only 1 set of stairs from car park level. You can pretty well ski in and out. Best to go in/out 50m up hill just before 'Les Rhodos' chalet. It's OK but a bit too much hassle to come back for lunch - so mind your wallets out there!

Liked the no TV approach but could have done with wi-fi.

Underfloor heating is controlled by the building so you'll never be cold and you have radiators too for drying gloves out!

Great ski-ing here with something for everyone from the Swiss Wall to the Jump Park. Natural half pipes to a floodlit Stade. Meandering back country route with old resturants to full blown powder pitches. Some nice improving ground too and drags as well as chairs in case the weather closes in.

We had a really good time here and will come back to this flat again. Great communication from the owners.

Entspannter Familienurlaub

Wir haben zum zweiten Mal unsere Weihnachtsferien in dieser schönen, kleinen Wohnung verbracht und waren nicht zum letzten Mal dort!

Die Vermieter sind sehr freundlich, unkompliziert und verbindlich. Die Wohnung ist (für unseren Geschmack) perfekt ausgestattet: kein Fernseher, dafür offener Kamin; keine Mikrowelle, dafür scharfe Messer! Tatsächlich findet man in der Küche alles, was man zur Selbstversorgung nur brauchen kann. Vom Rechaud über Salatschleuder, vom Espressokocher bis zur Kuchenform. Der offene Wohn-/Essbereich ist klein, aber gemütlich und beherbergt Bücher, Spiele und CD-Player/Radio, um die Zeit nach dem Skifahren (oder Wandern im Sommer) zu genießen. Im ausreichend geräumigen Schlafzimmer stehen zwei Einzelbetten und ein Stockbett, die durch ein Schiebevorhang-System optisch voneinander getrennt werden können. Besonders erwähnenswert ist außerdem die Sonnenterrasse und der in der Beschreibung erwähnte Blick auf die Dents du Midi, die je nach Tageszeit in verschiedensten Farben erstrahlen. Einatmen-Ausatmen.

Bei ordentlichen Schneeverhältnissen schnallt man quasi vor der Türe an und rutscht 100m bergab zum Babylift (hier muss noch eine Straße überquert werden). Daher ist die Lage perfekt für Familien mit kleinen Kindern. Von hier aus bringt einen der Schlepper zur "Basisstation" Les Crosets, von wo aus Sessellifte in alle Richtungen gehen und das riesige Skigebiet von Portes du Soleil erobert werden kann. Auf dem Rückweg biegt man auf der Piste (Mossettes) ab zum Ende der Sackgasse, in der unsere Wohnung liegt, geht noch ca. 150 m die Straße runter und ist schon da. Bei richtig guten Schneeverhältnissen kann man die Straße ohne Weiteres auf Skiern runterfahren und schnallt vor der Haustüre ab. Diesen Weg kann man natürlich auch morgens wählen!

Der Ort ist schweizerisch entspannt mit zwei Sportläden mit Skiverleih, einem MIni-Supermarkt und einem Lädchen zum Stöbern. Im Ortskern findet man 4 Restaurants aller Preisklassen, etwas weiter außerhalb das Hotel Relais mit kleinem Tiergehege (Alpakas, Ponys..) zum Gucken für die Kleinen.

Sehr gemütliche Wohnung mitten im Skigebiet

Wir fanden die inserierte Ferienwohnung exakt wie beschrieben in sauberem und gepflegtem Zustand vor. Die Vermieter hatten uns sehr gut vorbereitet und betreut. Hervorzuheben ist der fantastische Ausblick von der Terrasse bzw. vom Wohnzimmer auf die Dents du Midi und die Lage mitten im Skigebiet, so dass wir unseren PKW nicht benötigten und die ersten auf der Piste sein konnten! Ideale Wohnung insbesondere für Selbstversorger, da die Küche alles bietet. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

From here you can access the 650-kilometre track with 200 lifts !

Les Crosets appeals to more advanced skiers because of the nature of slope, as there are hardly any definite practice slopes. Even experienced skiers get through the mogul slopes (Swiss Wall) at their own expense.

The place is guaranteed of snow from Christmas to Easter. The best conditions for skiers.

And snowboarders are also welcome. Les Crosets has a spacious, well-groomed snow park.

The slopes are perfectly groomed. Snow cannons will also be used if necessary. The lifts are continuously being upgraded.

New! For the season 2011/12 the old 2-seater 'Grand Conche' in Les Crosets was replaced by a modern TSD 6-seater.
