Newly remodeled and completely renovated 2 Bedroom, 1 Bath Cottage with beautiful mountain views and quiet atmosphere. Hiking trails and close convenience to shopping, minutes away from Asheville. Fully furnished with full kitchen and laundry. 7 minutes away from Biltmore Estate and blue Ridge Parkway.
We stayed 2 nights and everything was as promised. The house could use a little sheet with directions on how to use the TV and DirectTV. We just decided not to use the TV at all. Though it feels like you're in the middle of nowhere at the house, it's actually very close to downtown and other restaurants, grocery, etc.
The cottage was the perfect size for us--so much better than a small hotel room! The view was nice (with the exception of a house below the hill, but that could be overlooked most of the time). The landlord nearby had a wonderful Southern charm personality! Enjoyed visiting with her. It was nice to stay out of the city's hustle and bustle.
We were very pleased with the accommodations. the ladies were very nice and even stayed up late to give us the key. Just a great little place for a quite stay. I may only suggest some reflective tape on the mail boxes, they are a little hard to see at night trying to get home.
Thank you very much
My daughter and I spent a long weekend in Asheville. This cottage is just perfect for 2 people. We didn't actually spend much time in the cottage since we were sightseeing most of the time. But I was pleasantly surprised to find wi-fi and Direct TV in the cottage for the times that we there. It was easy to pop in and out as the cottage is just minutes from downtown.
Cottage was nice and cozy. Just the right size for mom, dad, and two toddlers. Good location, short drive to parkway, folk art center, Ingles, etc. Asheville Mall not that far either. Enjoyed time hiking at Craggy Gardens and visiting the Arboretum. Close enough to grocery store & Pepperoni's Pizza place (fabulous sauce!) that when tired parents and tired kiddos returned to the cottage, dinner prep wasn't an issue. We did see turkeys each day, but never heard them. We also saw a bear stroll right past the cottage one evening. That kept us inside a bit more around the cottage than planned, as we had our dog as well, but hey, we were in the mountains! :-) Plenty of outdoor seating. Did enjoy breakfast on the porch one morning. Thelma was very sweet and we enjoyed chatting with her in passing. Doing laundry each night was simple, so didn't have to haul dirty clothes home. Kitchen just right for one parent to prep food, while the other kept kids and dog entertained. Couch/chair in living room were comfortable! Definitely recommend the cottage for comfort, location, and quiet time in the mountains!!! We enjoyed our first mountain visit -with two kids and dog in tow!
We had so much fun at this cottage get away! Marjorie and her whole family were very friendly and helpful. She went the extra mile to make sure the cottage wasn't a problem for my allergies. The view was great! Wild turkeys were out and about every day. It was so convenient for taking short jaunts up to the parkway or to ride on the scenic mountain roads. We plan to visit again!
