Rustic charm in the river
Converted bus is Quant with all you need. Beds and rooms were wonderfully clean. Kitchen is well stocked,, bathroom is tiny but perfectly usable. This is kinda like clamping. We took the canoe out, water is very shallow and clear. A bit off the beaten off path but we drove out every day to beaches and sight-seeing.. Suzanne was very friendly and helpful. This is not our typical cottage but it sure was fun, it very much reminded me of the old family well used but still loved cabin in the woods.
Absolutely stunning property and uniquely charming cottage
We had such a lovely stay at Suzanne's property. We couldn't believe the view when we pulled up to park outside the cottage. It truly feels like a little piece of paradise. Breathtaking sunsets over the inlet, incredible private beach, and completely ours alone for the 2 days we were there. The cottage/transformed camper bus is uniquely adorable and was so well-renovated with tons of charm. It worked well for our family of 5 (3 kids in tow - 5 yr old, 3 yr old and 1 yr old.) and our kids had the most incredible time. One note - the bus part of the cottage has fairly low ceilings, so it worked well for us because we're rather short, but wouldn't be as comfortable for taller individuals. Also, there's a bunky on the property too with a bunk bed, another bathroom and a shower, but we just used the main cottage. Lovely stay and one we'd definitely come back to for the views/privacy alone! Thanks Suzanne!
We had a really relaxing stay and loved watching the sunsets
Buggy and Uncomfortable Living Conditions
The cottage is attached to a bus (not a camper/ trailer) and was filled with bugs do to the large number of windows that are broken with rotted seals. There was no protection from the ants, fruit flies, house flies, mosquitoes, beetles, and spiders.
We arrived at 4pm, however Suzanne not ready for us and there was an overwhelmingly strong smell of manure the first day from the near by farms, however the smell was gone by morning. The overall cleanliness of the cottage/bus was not good. There was dirt, clothing tags, dead bugs and even a small kitchen knife lying on the floor under the steps that go up to the bus/kitchen area when we got there, also lots of cobwebs in the corners. This place needs a serious professional cleaning.
There wasn't a lot of head room in the kitchen/bus area and was impossible for anyone over 5'10" to stand up fully. In one passage area the ceiling was only about 4' high. Several of us bumped our heads on multiple occasions, making getting around very frustrating and painful. A few of the dishes were grimy with either dust or old food remenents.
Despite the camp/bus' awful condition, it is a pretty and private location where we were able to let our two dogs play outside without leashes.
The pictures of the beach are very decieving there is no sand and is unusable due to at least a foot of seaweed covering the entire area.
Rustic but quaint camping experience
A rustic camping experience in an old school bus with a quaint addition; nuzzled in a beautiful location with a semi-private beach. Children loved the experience and the view was fabulous.
