About Joan Champion
I am an artist turned Real Estate agent, a wife, mom, and Grandma. My husband and I moved to E. Tn. from Marietta, Ga. over 23 years ago to help out with my aging parents. The move was supposed to be temporary but here we are 23 years later. My favorite pastimes are horseback riding and working in my flower beds. I also enjoy cooking and reading.
Joan Champion purchased this Chalet in 1996
Why Joan Champion chose Tellico Plains
This property has been in my family for over a hundred years. My parents, Grandparents and Great-Grandparents were born and raised in these mountains. I love them too. This is a very special property. Cherokee National Forest is our backyard and there are lots of creeks and ponds close by. It is a nature lover's paradise.
What makes this Chalet unique
I love that we have access to the National Forest, a fish pond, pastures and beautiful flowers and birds.

Lots of outdoor activities. If you don't like nature stay home. We have nice hiking trails, waterfalls, fishing in our pond or the famous Tellico River. Motorcycle riding is very popular, bikers come from all over the world to ride the famous "Tail of the Dragon". Coker Creek was discovered when gold was found in our area and recreational gold mining is still popular. Our light pollution is very low so this is a great place for star gazers.
