The Hamburgdomizil comprises 2 suites in our apartment building in the popular district of Eppendorf, not far from the centre of Hamburg.
The large “Elbe-Suite” is situated in the ground floor of our house, which was built in 1911 in Art Nouveau-style. From April until December 2011, we refurbished and redecorated the “Elbe-Suite” with much love for detail.
The small “Bille-Suite” is situated on the first floor, directly above the “Elbe-Suite”. This apartment was also refurbished by the end of 2011 and since the beginning of 2012; we have also been decorating it with much love for detail. Since 01.03.2012, it is also available for our guests.
We put great emphasis on personal service and on the fact, that our guests can enjoy their stay in our suites from the first moment on. On arrival, you will not only find fresh linen and towels, but also coffee, tea, herbs and spices, oil, vinegar, flour, sugar, salt, firewood, soap and toilet paper. Final cleaning, WiFi and Sky+ included.
From the Hamburgdomizil, you can not only perfectly explore Hamburg, but also relax and take a break after a long day.

Great unit and host!
Ulli was great and was eager to share her Hamburg travel tips with us. The unit was clean with plenty of amenities. She had water, soda, beer, etc. available to purchase at cost and even gave us a nice bottle of red wine. Close to public transportation and parks with a nice balcony to watch the world go by!
Great stay in Eppinsdorf
We stayed in the extremely well appointed Billie-suite which is very convenient to buses and trains and about half an hour into the city including the walk.Ulrike spoke excellent English and was extremely helpful in getting us the right address and showing us the unit which has been recently renovated.
My partner and I stayed in the “Bille-Suite” for five nights in May. We wanted to stay in a residential neighborhood that had easy access to public transportation and Hamburg center. Eppendorf is a beautiful neighborhood with lovely Art-Nouveau buildings and many shops, boutiques, restaurants, and parks within walking distance.
Frau Simon and her husband are fantastic hosts—personal service plus—and they have thought of everything to make one’s stay comfortable. The flat itself is just amazing: a wonderful eat-in kitchen that is well equipped, with cooking basics including spices (a rare and greatly appreciated amenity in a rental flat), oils, and vinegar. The living room is a comfortable place to relax and has a wood-burning stove and a small balcony. Wi-Fi and entertainment options are great. The bed is very comfortable. A super convenience factor is being able to purchase (reasonable, better than supermarket, prices) a variety of beverages in the basement. The flat was spotless. We felt instantly at home.
Frau Simon provides sightseeing and restaurant recommendations. Pay attention: the recommendations are spot on.
This is a first-class rental property. We found nothing lacking, and have seldom encountered such high-quality and superb service in a rental property. We were so happy we opted to stay in this flat rather than a hotel while we were in Hamburg. We were not happy to leave! We will gladly visit Hamburg again, but only if the “Bille-Suite” is available. If you are looking for a 1-bedroom flat in Eppendorf, look no further.
Chocolate lovers take note: one of Hamburg’s best (some say the best) chocolatier is Schokovida, Hegestraße 33, within walking distance of the “Bille-Suite.”
Wonderful stay , apartment and hoasts
The apartment was better than described and the hoasts went way out of their way to make our stay the best ever in a Home Away from Home rental. The apartment is very convenient to good places to eat and supermarkets. The zoo is also a short bus ride away. If you like to swim be sure to take your bathing suit because the best public pool ( outdoor pool, Indoor pools, wave pool, hot and cold pools )we ever saw in Germany or Austria is adjacent to the nearby U-bahn station. We would recommend this apartment and especially the owners to anyone. This review is not an overstatement.
Wonderful stay,apartment and hoasts
The apartment was better than advertised. The neighborhood was great, plenty of good places to eat and good food shopping. The hoasts really went out of their way to insure we had a pleasant stay. If you have any interest in swimming be sure to take your bathing suit. The best public pool complex we ever saw is adjacent to the nearby U bahn station , Killinghusen Str . It has outdoor and indoor pools as well as a wave pool and a hot pool. The zoo is a short bus ride away, and there are a number of opportunities to rent canoes in the area and you can canoe in many directions and as long as you want and still not see the same area twice. The apartment was quiet and extremely very clean. The washer-dryer was efficient. I would recommend this apartment to my most hard to please freinds.
My stay at this luxury apartment was nothing like anything that I have every experienced before! I have stayed in many holiday apartments throughout Europe but nothing compares to my time in the Bille Suite.
To begin with, the lovely owners Ulli and Michael met me at the train station in their car, took me for a short tour of Hamburg and then helped me with my luggage to the apartment. Once in the apartment Ulli explained how everything worked, where to buy groceries, where the best local bakeries and restaurants were located and how to catch the bus and train into the centre of Hamburg.
But what potential visitors must know about this apartment is that it is simply stunningly beautiful. From the moment you enter the apartment you can see the detail that has gone into decorating this beautiful accommodation. I did not want to leave.
The kitchen has everything that you could want and more. The appliances, small pantry of supplies and decor are all wonderful. The lounge is stunning. The furnishings are fabulous, there is a cabinet filled with lovely glassware, a magical fireplace and a massive flat screen TV..... Amazing. The bathroom is also very well presented and practical - I loved the lights and the fantastic towels!
However the bedroom is sensational. The bed and linen is of the highest quality and it is extremely comfortable. The ambiance in the room is outstanding due to the colour scheme and sensational "star light" that covers the ceiling above the bed and there is a 2nd large flat screen TV on the wall.
Eppendorf may appear to be out of the city centre but it really is very easy to use public transport. The bus stop is approximately 40 paces from the apartment and buses come every 20 to 30 minutes. You only have to travel a short distance when the bus journey ends at the train station. Trains into the city centre come every few minutes and you only have to travel 2 stops. The one ticket allows you to travel on both buses and trains.
Overall, there are hundreds of wonderful things I could say about this apartment and the fantastic and friendly owners but if you go to stay at this place you will see for yourself! I could not recommend this place highly enough and dream of the day I can return so that I can stay for longer!
Thank you Ulli and Michael for your kindness and the chance to stay at your simply perfect apartment.
Eppendorf - one of the most beautiful districts of Hamburg. Here, Hamburg shows one of its most beautiful sides. Admire the Art Nouveau- style apartment buildings from the time around 1900. There is always something nice to discover. Very near to the “Hamburgdomizil”, there are 3 parks. The Eppendorfer Landstraße with its many boutiques and small shops invites you to a stroll. Try the home made ice-cream at “Eis-Schmidt”, they are opened even during the winter. Eppendorf boasts a huge variety of restaurants, bars and cafes. The starred chef Poletto has got her restaurant in the Eppendorfer Landstraße 80; you can find her wine-bar in the Eppendorfer Weg 287.
The cultural aspect is also taken care of. You can reach the “Alma Hoppe” comedy house or the “Winterhuder Fährhaus”-theatre within a ten minute walk along the Alster-River. Public transport brings you within 20 minutes to the “Neue Flora” and “Tarzan”, or within 25 minutes to “The Lion King”. The red-light district, the Reeperbahn, is only 20 minutes away. Here, you can find “Schmidts Tivoli”, “Schmidt Theater”, “Criminal-Imperial Theater”, “St. Pauli-Theater” and the Operettenhaus.
The most important tourist attractions, like the St.Pauli Landing Bridges, the port of Hamburg, Speicherstadt, the St. Michaelis Church, the town hall, the Alster-Arcades and the “Krameramtsstuben” can be reached by public transport within 20 minutes. From April until October, you can also do boat trips to the city centre on the Alster-River from the mooring near the Winterhuder Fährhaus. If you have the time and leisure, you can also walk along the Alster-River to the city centre of Hamburg. This would take you around one hour.
If you are looking for wellness and spas, Hamburg is the right place for you. In the immediate vicinity of the Hamburgdomizil (only 10 minutes on foot), you will find one of the most beautiful spas of the city: the Art Nouveau-style “Holthusenbad”. But you may also want to try one of the 5 MeridianSpas. Right near to the Hamburgdomizil, you will find the MeridianSpa Eppendorf.
If you like walking or cycling, Hamburg offers a well developed network of walking and cycling trails. You can start right at the Hamburgdomizil or take your bicycle with you in the public transport. Try cycling along the Elbe-River towards Wedel.
