Studio bungalow that sleeps 3 and has a well-stocked kitchen area
About Lisa Brokaw
We are recently retired teachers who moved up to Oakhurst 10 years ago to be near our grandchildren. We enjoy being outdoors hiking, snowshoeing, skiing and exploring with our Siberian huskies, Tioga and Tenaya. They love having doggy visitors to show around their property.
Lisa Brokaw purchased this Bungalow in 2015
Why Lisa Brokaw chose Oakhurst
We were looking for more space and fell in love with the property and the magnificent views, both day and night. It was truly love at first sight for us and we wanted to share this with those who love the mountain scenery and area as much as we do.
What makes this Bungalow unique
Of course, Yosemite is very nearby, but so is Bass Lake for all kinds of water sports. Hundreds of hiking trails and biking trails are located in the immediate vicinity. We have maps and directions available for great views of waterfalls, creeks, forest land, Giant Sequoias, wildflowers, and abundant sunshine and clean air. A fun attraction for all ages is the Sugar Pine Railroad, open seasonally, offering an evening train ride, BBQ and entertainment venue. Winter brings sleigh rides and an ice skating rink at Tenaya Lodge, just 20 minutes away. And nearby Coarsegold and Mariposa offer Peddlers' Fairs and other events fun for the whole family.

The guesthouse is perfect! The view is stunning. And so quiet! Perfect place to come back to after a busy day in Yosemite.
Lisa is so sweet and helpful. The rental is exactly as described. You won’t be disappointed. O and the snacks 😁 Lisa provides. I would definitely stay here again if I get back this way. Thanks Lisa again for the favour you did for me! Laura
A great cottage with view
We enjoyed our stay in Oakhurst very much. Cottage is comfortable and a great place to wind down after hiking in the area. Close proximity to Yosemite was great. Deck overlooking Oakhurst and mountains was the serene view we needed. Thanks Bruce and Lisa. Very nice property.! Note, there really is no cooking facility, but microwave and toaster oven served our needs fine!
West coast travels
Perfect place to stay to see the national parks of the area. Clean and comfortable! Would definitely stay again!
Perfect for one
The cottage was perfect for me. I stayed three nights while traveling alone to visit Yosemite National Park. Close enough to the park to enjoy coffee on the deck in the morning (Keurig in the cottage — but there’s also a nice local coffee shop on the way to the park), and back for dinner in the evening. Clean and tidy, comfortable bed, plenty of space for one or two people. While there is a microwave and toaster oven, there is no stove or kitchen sink ... which was fine for me, because I took advantage of the propane grill on the deck. Restaurants in town are close enough to grab dinner, too, including a great local microbrewery.
Lovely Place to Stay
Lovely Place to Stay, Very Pleasant, I would Highly recommend it. Thank you for a wonderful weekend.
Everything we needed. Gorgeous views and property. Perfect distance from town. I really couldn't have asked for more. Beautiful, short drive to Yosemite. Grilling on the deck at sunset was a highlight to our trip. I can't say thank you enough for letting us stay!
