This cabin is ideal for quiet weekend away, trout fisherman or just hanging out on the river. The cabin sleeps 8 with 2 bed rooms and a pull out couch. Sheets, towels, blankets and every thing in the kitchen you might need is provided. Just bring your groceries and yourself. Pets welcome. There are plenty of outdoor activities from sitting around the bon fire, coffee on the bistro, or playing a game of horseshoe, but there is no WIFI, cell service or cable TV at the cabin. The owners are on the 40 acre parcel next door and just a short walk thru the woods if you have questions or need something where WIFI is available if need be.

About James & Julie
My wife & I grew up in this local area and pretty much on the river, our house is just through the woods from the cabin. We spend our free time tubing the river when water permits, kayaking up and down the stream or just spending nights by our bon fire.
James & Julie purchased this Cabin in 2015
Why James & Julie chose Cornell
We love this little place we call our own. We have parties multiple times a year from Haunted Hay rides in October to Christmas cookie baking in December. We love to share what we have with friends and neighbors and what better way to meet new friends by renting out our little cabin. By the way the view is gorgeous on the river.
What makes this Cabin unique
Fresh air, water and the sound of the rippling rapids. What else do you need? I was hooked right from the first night here. Clear sky at night that you can't begin to count all the stars (weather permitting) and on occasion the howl of a distant coyote.

Wonderful Time At Little Cabin On The River
Extremely well-stocked two-bedroom cabin in lovely location on the Escanaba River. The hosts are very accommodating and just downright pleasant. We especially enjoyed the sunroom. It was very relaxing to sit on the couch in the sunroom and watch the river flow. While looking out the window, we also got to see deer crossing the river.
If you want to relax and get away from everything, this is the place.
It could not have been better!
I shared the cabin for a week in July with 4 of my grandchildren. They did not want to leave, and neither did I. Eagles flew over the cabin and two fawns visited us twice. We all enjoyed the quiet large yard surrounded by trees and flowers, as well as the hammock and hanging chair. The fire pit was well utilized. The night skies were gorgeous. Everything that was said in all of the other reviews were right on track and James and Julie could not have been more accommodating! We had a wonderful week and hope to be back!!
Relaxation at it's best
We loved our stay at LCotR! My husband and I took our kids (ages 13, 11, and 5) and we all enjoyed our cabin. Julie was very nice and accommodating. There is so much to do (or not do, ha) here. You can lay in one of the hammocks and listen to the sounds of nature and the river or read a book. It is so relaxing to literally do nothing, especially since it's so quiet and neighbors aren't really in sight. The cabin has everything you need, from outdoor games to indoor games, pots, dishes, towels, extra toiletries, firewood, charcoal for the grill, etc. It was also very clean and cozy. We played corn hole (or bags), had a fire pit, relaxed in the hammocks, went fishing, and relaxed. Gladstone and Escanaba are about 25 minutes away if you need to get groceries. Pictured Rocks/Munising area is just over an hour away and is breathtaking. We were only here for 3 short nights and we wished that we had longer!
The cabin was very cute and clean with a stunning view of the Escanaba River. We really enjoyed our stay. The owners were very nice and helpful. I highly recommend this cabin.
Beautiful, Peaceful, & Great Fishing!
Loved my stay at James & Julies' LCOTR! Cabin is in a beautiful spot, well appointed & maintained, and right on the bank of one of the best fishing experiences the UP has to offer! I'm planning on making the LCOTR my home base for an annual (or maybe more often) fishing getaway for the foreseeable future. Thanks James & Julie!
Sincerely, Todd W, Sault Ste Marie, MI
Great place right on the river
Beautiful property. Clean and comfortable. Loved being able to borrow kayaks and canoes and paddle right from the cabin down the Escanaba. Many thanks to Julie.
