My daughter and I rented this apartment for a 10 night stay while we were visiting her daughter who is attending her second semester of college in Germany. This is a wonderful apartment! Very clean, beautiful furnishings, with a nice kitchen and dining area. We did a lot of traveling while we were in Germany and it is near bus stops and not far from trail stations, which we used a lot. Norbert was very nice to deal with when renting the apartment and keeping in touch as we rented about three months before our trip to Germany. Would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone who is traveling to Koblenz and the nearby cities in Germany for a wonderful place to stay!
The reviews are unanimous in that this is excellent accommodation for 2 people in a quiet residential area of Koblenz. It is spotlessly clean, the furniture and fittings are of a high standard and it is well equipped for self catering. We used the house as a base to explore the rivers Rhein and Mosel by tandem. The cycling routes along both the Rhine and the Mosel are flat and beautiful - a great way to see the towns, villages, castles and vineyards in this area. However the property is situated at the top of the hill near to the fortress and not an easy walk or cycle into town ! So the cable car or a car are essential for trips into Koblenz. The cable car stops at 6.15pm but the number 9 bus brings you to the bottom of the hill .We would recommend the Alt Brauhaus in Koblenz for traditional german beer and food. And Zell on the Mosel was our favourite place .
Superb apartment with friendly hosts. The apartment was booked for a holiday to celebrate my 40th birthday in 2013, with my wife and our 2-year old son. The location was perfect, in a very quiet private street location about fifteen minutes away from the city centre by car and only a few minutes walk away from the Ehrenbreitstein fortress and the cable car terminal. Using the cable car you can be on the banks of the river in the city near to Deutches Eck in no time at all. Less than 5 minutes away from the apartment are a couple of supermarkets and also a good pizza take away outlet which we used once at the end of a long day. We loved the cable car and used it frequently to go into Koblenz, exploring the city on foot. We also used the apartment as a base from where to explore the towns along the Rhein and Moselle during the week. The apartment felt very spacious with a combined open-plan living/sleeping area, and Carina and Norbert very kindly provided a large travel cot for our son. The large washroom has a huge walk-in shower and is also kitted out with an excellent washing machine and tumble dryer. There is also a separate kitchen and a perfectly kept terrace at the front which we did not really get much chance to use as we were out exploring so much. The property is spotlessly clean and we would not hesitate to recommend it. Highlights from the holiday would be the views from the cable car which our son really enjoyed too, trips to Cochem, Rhudesheim, Boppard, Bacharach, Sankt Goar, the geyser at Andernach, Stolzenfels castle and, of course, the Ehrenbreitstein fortress itself with its wonderful views and amazing exhibitions. All the restaurants we visited everywhere were very good, and there are many with wonderful views too; my favourite was "Alt Koblenz" in the city centre where we ate on my birthday, and we decided to go back there on our final evening too. The staff there were really friendly, the food was good and the atmosphere perfect. Although I have visited Germany many times previously, Koblenz was one city I had only passed through many years before. There is plenty to see and do and it was a perfect base from which to explore the surrounding areas.
Carina and Norbert who live above, warmly welcomed us to the apartment which is spotlessly clean, modern and with more than enough facilities needed for self catering. The weather was fantastic so we ate all of our meals on the lovely garden terrace and watched the stars until the early hours. The wifi wasn't available due to the area's cabling being upgraded but as this isn't a priority of ours it really didn't matter as most of the cafés in Koblenz have free wifi if you're desperate! The location of the apartment is just below the fortress plateau from which runs the cable car into town. It was such a thrill to use this as our transport to and from town! We'd certainly stay at Carina & Norbert's apartment again probably in August when the Rhine on Fire festival is on. Thank you for your very kind and friendly hospitality.
The apartment is in a great location for seeing the old city of Koblenz and as a base for visiting other areas of Germany by car. There’s a grocery store nearby and the kitchen is well stocked with essentials. A real bonus is the washer/dryer (additional 6 Euros). We had a little trouble with wifi but the hosts helped us figure it out. The bedroom and living area is one large room so those needing privacy might be a bit uncomfortable. Beautifully clean. Outdoor patio a plus. Overall, a comfortable and convenient stay with a very gracious hostess. Highly recommended.
Terrific apartment in a quiet, well-located neighbourhood close to Koblenz old town and all the things you want to see. The city has so much to offer and is very welcoming. Owners Norbert & Carina live next door and are simply wonderful - friendly, helpful and informative. They love where they live and have a real passion that you should too. The Rhine and Moselle valleys are a true joy to explore, historic, civilised and full of things to see. The rivers are beautiful, the towns are gems, the countryside is spectacular and the people are welcoming. It was our first visit to Germany (but not to Norbert & Carina's properties - they have holiday homes in Belgium too) and we can't wait to go back. So much more to see and do, and such a nice place to stay while doing it. Go there and meet these wonderful people!
Compared to the 'Deutsches Eck', where the Moselle flows into the Rhine, the fortress 'Ehrenbreitstein' rises.
Koblenz directed in 2011 from the Federal Garden Show and showed the many guests at its best. One focus of Buga was the fortress. From the fortress up to your apartment it is just a few hundred meters.
Koblenz one of Germany's oldest cities with a 2000-year history.
Experience Koblenz with its historic buildings, castles, stately town houses, old wine farms, the old town and romantic alleyways.
Koblenz is one zum'Unesco World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley '.
Explore other Moselle, Rhine, Lahn and Ahr Valley. A walk on the lying nearby Rhine Stieg makes sense.
Note: The home address of the apartment (rear entrance of the apartment building) is: Neudorfer Weg 3,
