Wade and Patricia Evans
About Wade and Patricia Evans
We are a product of on online dating. Patricia moved from MN to the Northern Hills in 1979. Wade was born in Spearfish, but was living in Colorado, counting days until the next time he could get back the 'The Hills'.
Wade and Patricia Evans purchased this Campground in 2010
Why Wade and Patricia Evans chose Hot Springs
When we found the property online, we fell in love with the house... and Wade the shop. But after we came to see it in person and walked to the cliff... well, it was just amazing. You have to see it in person to understand. Everyday, we tell our 3 dogs and 3 cats, 'we are going to the cliff' and we all take a hike together, stopping just to sit and look. Seems like every hike, we see something new, we never noticed before. So nice here, we had our wedding at the cliff edge in 2012. We have a hard time figuring out where to 'go' for a vacation... we feel we are living in our perfect vacation spot and now we have discovered that we really enjoy sharing our favorite spot and the chance to meet new friends in the process.
What makes this Campground unique
We want every guest to feel right at home and provide everything you could ever need. We treat our guests as family... that traveled from across the country and have what they need to relax and prepare for the best vacation possible. We know most families only get 1 or 2 vacations a year, we are very honored to be a part of that experience.

After being warmly greeted by the hosts and given a tour we settled in for a three night stay. The first night went well using the grill, fire pit and hot tub. We knew it would get chilly, but there are cozy flannel sheets and layers of blankets to burrow in. The second night went well but we were disappointed when the hot tub clunked out. We had been told that ,”it was on its last leg.” The third night was cold and rainy and that’s when we realized this is a wonderful place to stay in good weather. We were unable to use the hot tub because it was still not working
and we were unable to use the fire pit and grill. The outside shower is covered with a tin roof, but to our surprise the toilet and sink area was leaking. So as a woman, sitting on the toilet shivering cold with rain dripping on my head, made the last morning a quick check out! We didn’t even make coffee! Overall, this was a wonderful stay, except for the hot tub not working. What has been done at this property has been done well. I took a chance on the weather and the only thing to be added is a leak proof ceiling in the bathroom area.
Would recommend and will be back
We were impressed by the property, it’s uniqueness, and location overlooking the canyon. Was a little leery about the yurt being in someone’s backyard, but it was no issue, hosts were friendly and did not bother guests one bit. There is plenty of privacy from trees, and a very unique experience. I have no complaints and would recommend this to families or couples or anyone
First Time Glamping!
Loved everything about this experience and the hosts were fantastic! We’ll definitely be back.
Sibley Tent - Super
We loved our time at the Sibley Tent. Wade and Patricia were wonderful hosts- very helpful with questions before booking, quick response time to any needs during our stay. They have a great property with some interesting places to stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the tree deck and connecting with the owners. Will definitely come back!
