Would not recommend for a young family

The house was very big, clean and in a great location. I had booked the house for three weeks during the August summer holiday. Unfortunately we were not informed and the description doesn't say that there where no mains electricity, water or sewage and we had severe issues with the electricity as it was run off a generator and solar batteries. We were told in no uncertain terms by the owners that we were wasteful with the electricity and that we had run the batteries down during the night causing the generator to go on. The only thing we used during the evening was a laptop (no English channels on TV) and two fans (as there was no air-con) which we stopped using due to the lack of electricity. Even though there where washing facilities we decide not to use them to stop further conflict and had went to a laundromat at £20 a go. As there was no mains sewerage we had to put all used toilet paper in a bin as you could not flush it, we were told this was common to rural Spain?! All 6 of us (3 of which children) could not all shower after a day on the beach as on two separate occasions the water just went off. The pool was not filled up once during our stay and was 6" bellow the fill line by the end, the owners filled it up the day we left. The (plastic) pool was also small and we were told that if the kids wanted a proper swim to go the public pool which makes booking accommodation with a pool pointless. I also didn't know that the owners lived in the same house on the lower level with direct access to the house/level we were renting via a staircase. The owners entered our accommodation whilst we were out on several occasions and I felt we had no privacy. On one occasion my dad was resting not feeling well and was disturbed by the owner saying that he could hear a window making a noise, my dad let the owner in and he checked each room until he found the window that was "not shut" properly. On another occasion the owner knocked again to say he can hear a tap open / running because the water pump kept coming on. Again the whole house was checked but no open tap was found. We felt so monitored by the owners that we spent most days out which again was not in budget. It was so stressful especially with three young kids making sure that everyone switched off everything electric constantly, conscious of the owners being there that I tried to find alternative accommodation. I don't feel this accommodation is suitable for a young family and would not recommend it.

The 200 year old building lies in 550 m height on a 5 hectare natural private property in Carrasquetatal, surrounded by almond and olive plantations. The old Turronstadt Jijona is about 4km and offers many shops.

The picturesque surroundings of the Finca is ideal for hiking and features unlike many other hotels on the Costa Blanca have diverse options for rest and relaxation.

Also for children and dogs there are on the spacious grounds enough opportunities to romp and play.

The beautiful sandy beach and promenade in St. Juan is 16 km away and minutes away by car in 20 to achieve. Other delightful beaches and popular attractions of the Costa Blanca are easily accessible. The attractive cultural city of Alicante is about 25 minutes away, for the trip to the airport takes around 35 min.
