Charming, well appointed carriage house privately situated on edge of quintessential VT village
We have visited Woodstock many times but this was the first time we stayed in a private residence. Staying at the carriage house made us feel more like village residents than visitors! The setting is very private and the structure is unique and historic. It was nice to have plenty of room to spread out (travelers were myself, my husband and our two teenage children) and a full kitchen. Convenient parking right out front and mudroom downstairs to stow our ski bags. Kids enjoyed the table tennis in the garage. We really enjoyed the views of the Ottaquechee River that may be even nicer at times of the year when the river is not frozen! All the basic needs are there (towels, hairdryer, shampoo, kitchen basics, etc.) All we needed to pickup was coffee, milk and breakfast food - and lots of delicious VT cheddar for snacking!. It is a short, scenic walk to town for shopping or dining. We would definitely like to return to the carriage house on our next visit to Woodstock!
FYI - There is no TV but WiFi worked great for laptops and iphones for entertainment.
Also, you could definitely fit an air mattress (bring your own) on the floor in the living room if you have kids that don't want to share the sofa bed!
Charming cottage and amazing location
Our family of 4 had a wonderful week in the carriage house. The house had everything we needed and was a great spot to relax after skiing, sledding and seeing the sights. Would happily stay there again.
Beautiful space, beautiful place!
Perfect space, exactly as described and in the photos! Clean, welcoming and well provisioned. Less than 5 minutes walk into the enchanting town of Woodstock, Vermont. I'm already trying to figure out the next time I can get back. (and thanks to management company who kept the driveway and walkway clear of ice so we were safe walking in and out ... beautiful view from the windows.
Great place to stay near Billings Farm
We had a wonderful weekend staying at Rachel’s apartment. We felt extremely comfortable there and it was so convenient to be able to walk into town and we even walked to Mt Tom and and went up to the top, roughly 5 miles total from the apartment (returned via the covered bridge through the center of town). We would definitely stay here again.
We were very happy with the apartment. It was more spacious than we thought and very clean and quiet
The only draw back was no TV. It would have been helpful for the listing to specify no TV. Otherwise it was great location and apartment.
Thank you of the nice review. I'm glad you enjoyed the cottage and your stay. Glad you pointed this out for future guests and please note that if you check the listing it does say that there is not a tv. Hope to see you again!
