About Hobert (Hobie) Lawrence
I grew up around the Reelfoot Lake area. Moved up north to work in the steel mills. After retiring, I moved back home.
Hobert (Hobie) Lawrence purchased this House in 1985
Why Hobert (Hobie) Lawrence chose Hornbeak
This property was available about the time of my retirement. It has a wonderful location and the fishing is great.
What makes this House unique
The best sunsets off of the deck. We have had many great times out on the deck with family and friends

Great place on Reelfoot Lake
Pro: Very clean, well maintained property. Great deck that goes completely to the edge of the lake makes going fishing a simple process. A refrigerator out by the fishing area lets you keep things nearby that need to be kept cool.
The owner is very personable and quick to respond to requests.
Con: WiFi is at the far end of the house, away from the living room, so signal in the living room is weak. It would be nice if it was moved closer to the center of the house for better signal everywhere. This is a minor complaint and certainly not a deal breaker.
Thank you for your review and hope you can make it back. We are currently upgrading the WiFi situation, right now it’s a waiting game for installation
Great place for family trip
Beautiful lake front side for fishing and sightseeing a sunset. Calm lake could giving you peace of mind in the morning.
Great house, great lake and great community!
We had a fantastic time at Reelfoot Lake. The house was emaculatly cleaned and the deck was amazing. I seen some others speak about the dated decor but I thought it added to the charm. Mr. Hobie had all the accommodations we could have hoped for including cards for fishing guides. We chose to go with Kirk Palmer and he did a great job as well. Although July is not prime fishing season at Reelfoot he took us out and we were able to come home with a mess of fish just the same. Over all it was a fantastic first anniversary.
Very pleased with mr Lawrence and his property, very displeased with vrbo,I will never, never use vrbo again
Fun 4 Days
Loved that there was plenty of toilet tissue, trash bags, paper towels and bath towels plus paper cups and 2 fly swatters, but sure would have liked some bar soap for both showers. Liked having all the light on the steps out back, but the light up in the tree needs to be replaced so it can be turned on and off. Beds, chairs & Sofas all pretty comfortable . Appreciate having 2 tables and chairs out on the decks and the nice grill. Sad the fish were not biting, only caught a 3# catfish and a gar. Fun watching all the squirrels and the little family of Mink out back running around. Maybe next time we will have better luck with the fish. Don't think we have ever been anywhere that the Bream were not biting. thinking it was the change in the temp's. Thanks for everything. Loretta Harrison
Time to relax
I wanted to take my Dad and Brother someplace where we could fish and spend some time together. This place was perfect to come back to after a day out on the lake. The deck is awesome and great place to chill out to have a beer in the evening or to have a morning cup of joe.
I would definitely recommend and go back again next year.
Lastly don't forget to bring some granola bars for the community Squirrel who shows up everyday for a bite to eat.
